MAHOGANY HÔTEL RÉSIDENCE & SPA ^{* * * *}

Tellement déçu ! Nous qui pensions nous offrir du luxe dès le début de nos vacances ... Nous avons eu la surprise d'être face à un autre bâtiment sur notre terrasse, ce n'était dit nul part dans notre réservation . Donc aucune vue... Un peu de ciel quand même. Sinon, le balcon cuisine, très bien, la grande chambre avec un super lit, top. Le service impeccable. Faut savoir que la pièce, salle d'eau-wc est minuscule. Attention donc a bien choisir son bâtiment pendant la réservation. Cela reste un très beau complexe, avec de bons services mais en qualité prix, beaucoup trop élevé pour l'endroit où nous étions.

pour un 4 étoiles, onéreux, quelques rénovations à faire dans la chambre. Service de chambre: horaire très variable, peignoirs mis ou non à disposition.
Restaurant très chers.

Staying here right now and this should be a 2 Star. There is no where to put a suitcase but the floor. There isn't a single drawer to unpack anything. There's only 2 plugs, so I can't have the hotel TV, phone and Lamp plugged in at the same time. There are no directions for the safe. The safe locks without warning and can't be opened unless a technician comes in 1-2 hours. Wifi was down when we arrived for a few hours.
The main room light looks like a construction light. You would think they would put a frame on the Mirror for a nice hotel.

My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful week in late February, early March at Mahogany, or Creole Beach. We were with friendly couples and families of all ages immersed in a French-speaking world. The staff were superior in every way, helpful in each request we might have. We loved Indiana and her fellows at the bar, and my wife had fun singing with the pianist and bongo drummer at the piano bar. Our one day excursion to Les Saints was an adventure into beauty and history. The food especially the dinner buffet was beyond scrumptious. Pizza from the beach bar was a treat.
The white sand beach sits on a calm shallow-water clear lagoon, great for splashing around. The large pool was perfect for some serious swimming or just cooling off. There are plenty of lawn chairs everywhere and they will bring drinks right to your side. I thought Mahogany's room with breakfast rates were a better deal than the costs of all included resort. We ate one dinner at the resort restaurant, and another at the close by "Le Spot" French cuisine everywhere. Our room had a refrigerator, a microwave, hot stove top, and full dishes. We liked the bed and the bathroom.
There is nightly entertainment including a very popular Saturday night salsa night with dancing and a live band. The island dancing performance show was delightful.
I speak French and my speaks a little. You can get along with the staff if you only speak English, but you will have much more fun greeting and talking with the other guests if you can speak a little French. Don't be dissuaded from coming if you don't speak French, however. :) It only takes a second to learn how to say, "Bonjour"
We rented a car and only used it a little. We had to use smartphone Google Maps to find where we were. Guadeloupe is a department of France and is a part of the European Union and has a four lane highway around the island.
We have been to a dozen places in the Caribbean.. This was perhaps our most memorable one of all.
