The natural beauty of the location alone would have made the trip worthwhile, but what truly sets this hotel apart was the outstanding service and the warm, welcoming staff. Every member of the team consistently went above and beyond. A special thanks to General Manager Lindley who was fully dedicated to ensuring our stay was nothing short of magical. Thank you also to Denis, Vik and Leena who were brilliant.
The restaurant here was a particular highlight of our visit to Mauritus (we stayed at many locations on the island). The food was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, with both local and international dishes that left our taste buds in pure delight. The superbly crafted meals made every dining experience a memorable one. We really like that there was not only a set menu available every night, but also an a la carte.
We’re already daydreaming about our return to this enchanting haven in Mauritius. It's not just a hotel; it's a sanctuary of beauty, hospitality, and gastronomic excellence, and we can't wait to come back for more. Thank you to Lindley and his team!

Small with 36 rooms, yet all of them beautiful appointed.
The highlight for us was the restaurant. Fantastic view, great food, lovely service that pays attention to the last detail.. I ate the last meat off the lamb rack bones holding them with my hand... And a bowl with hit water and lemon came to wash my hands... My serviette was quite dirty and it was changed mid meal... Wow
The rooms are not cheap, yet felt the food and wines were very reasonably priced

L'hôtel correspond parfaitement aux attentes de ce genre de standing.
Nous avions un petit problème avec notre chambre et nous avons été surclasser sur l'ensemble de notre séjour. Merci à toute les équipes de l'hôtel qui ont été très agréables et professionnels. Mention spécial pour la qualité du petit-déjeuner, des plats du restaurant et de la qualité des vins.

Bonjour du 20 Degres Sud ou vous venez de passe vor vacances. Je suis heureux de savoir que vous avez eu un agréable moment pendant vos vacances. Nous prenons note de vos commentaires concernant le restaurant même si vous dites que vous pinailler car il est de notre façon de rechercher la perfection.
Savoir que vous pensez à revenir nous fais énormément plaisir, je ne peux que vous dire a très vite donc.

It has disappeared, but suffice to say I cannot recommend this Chateau and Relais 5 -star property highly enough.-in all areas ; facilities,service cuisine,location ,accommodation......all superb.
Just go...... I promise you won't be disappointed .

Pros:
Room I stayed was really good, comfy, nice view, and water pressure was great and hot. That's pretty much it.
Cons:
Way over priced. Bottle of water cost Rs325 ($10aud!!)
When you book for a half board or all inclusive, it states that the breakfast and dinner are inclusive, which is a LIE! You basically get a "credit" of Rs2250 per person to spend on your food. That means, when you order a la carte(the only option you have), you need to order the cheapest entree, main and dessert in order not to pay the excess amount.
I have never in my entire life stayed in a 5 star hotel that gave me a credit when it says included in the terms and conditions. You won't find any information about this on their website. I've only found out about this when i was at the restaurant and opened the menu. I've attached an image for you guys to see... food is also mediocre, nothing wow. Client next to me brought their own water bottle and wine because everything is so over priced at this place. Another client was complaining that she had stomach ache from the food and my food was dry and salty. When i told the manager about it, he said "ohh maybe your taste bud isn't used to this and everyone has a different taste bud" and to "redeem" themselves, all i got was a glass of wine and a mocktail.
Customer service is pretty bad - most staffs do not smile and no proper manners. There is 1 particular waiter who is horrible. There are a few staffs who are amazing but most of them are not...
For the price I paid, it wasn't worth it at all. Save yourself some money and find another place.
Lastly, if you're looking to swim in the ocean, find another place. It's a nice beach to chill on sand but not to swim. The location of this area is very windy and a bit rocky. The waves are quite strong and water cold.
Greetings from The 20 Degres Sud, thank you for taking time to drop your feelings through the below comments. I really appreciate to get the feel of your experience and believe me that I will take good note of it to improve the level of service of the Resort.
On another note, I cannot hold myself of explaining to you some aspect of your comments as it does not reflect the level of service and the quality of the food that you are criticizing.
Regarding the price of our water bottle, you should have also mentioned that these waters are imported bottles and that we do have locally bottled water sold at Rs 150.00. I want to reassure you that we are completely in the range of price compared to other 5-star hotel.
As for the credit conditions, this condition allows our guests to choose their menu from an extensive A La Carte and within this specific allocation. We also propose a daily special menu including the starter, main course and dessert which stays within the credit allowance. The aim of doing that is mainly to allow our guests to craft their own offering rather than being imposed a Half Board menu every night. Of course, we do have some dishes that are more expensive than others as they are made of high-end product, but it does not prevent the guests from choosing them and stay within the credit or pay the supplement if it gets over the credit limit.
Our chef and his brigade always strive to be more and more creative day after day and saying that the food is mediocre is too much for a restaurant which is known by the high quality of its food. Please note that your situation is an uncommon case. Should we have known it during your diner, the chef would have been very responsive, and he would have certainly taken action to address your concern.
We are however very attentive of every comment that we received from our guests, and this is why we took your comments concerning the level of salt in your dish with high respect and got back to you to better understand your comments, we even proposed you to reduce the amount of salt in your specific dishes and invited you for an aperitif to show you our level of concern. The team is trained to jump on every comment our guests make and try to do our upmost possibilities to solve and sort the issue to the expectations of the guests. I realize that our approach did not please you and that you even extended your issue to other guests.
I take good note of the comment you attach to the attitude of the staff which is an isolated comment but believe me that I will be spending time on this aspect of your appreciation.
You were unfortunately residing with us during the period where the island, even the south hemisphere, was under the influence of very strong waves and obviously strong winds, there were even an alert from the authorities to avoid swimming and sailing in the lagoon.
Again, I do thank you for your comments but would appreciate a more honest review from your end. I do wish you a great end of Year 2023.

Très calme avec une magnifique vue.
Le service et les repas sont excellents
L'hôtel est excentré mais quelques navettes sont prévus dans la journée pour se rendre à grand baie. Pour le soir il faut prendre un taxi

J'étais un peu dans le doute avant d'arriver à l'hôtel.
Mon avis a immédiatement changé dès notre arrivée.
Les photos que l'on voit sur internet ne reflètent pas l'ambiance cocooning de ce lieu.
Cet hôtel est construit comme une demeure pleine de charme.
Nous étions dans une suite magnifique face à la mer. Cela dit, toutes les autres chambres ont un bel emplacement.
Le personnel est d'une véritable gentillesse. Merci à Amrish qui a supervisé toutes nos envies et besoins. Le personnel du restaurant est aussi super agréable (Said, Denis... et je ne me rappelle pas des autres prénoms).
Cet hôtel est un véritable coup de coeur

We talked about the pricing of our beverages and wines, for sure we will be more expensive than the beverages sold in the village due to additional taxes but rest assured that we are withing the range of any other hotels that operate at our level.

La nourriture était exceptionnelle … un chef de tres haut niveau , tout était excellent .
L’hôtel est calme, relaxant , la vue sur le coin de mire est top et le petit spa idéal pour finir la journée .
