Le Fairway est l'un des plus anciens hôtels de la capitale, puisqu'il a ouvert ses portes en 1969. Il s’agit d’un établissement assez classique, un bâtiment blanc avec vue sur le terrain de golf ou sur la végétation des cours intérieures. Les chambres, claires et fonctionnelles, sont alignées façon motel. L’hôtel est surtout apprécié pour ses nombreux services incluant l'accès à une salle de gym et une piscine. On y trouve un bar à cocktails (The Professor), deux restaurants (le Tree Top et l'Asian Fusion), quelques boutiques et deux spas. Excellente localisation.

NOTRE HISTOIRE

L'histoire de comment tout a commencé

UNE FOIS UNE MAISON FAMILIALE

Notre histoire commence à partir d'une humble maison familiale à Nakasero qui appartenait à la famille Jaffer depuis 1927. Ils ne savaient pas qu'en 1969, un coup du Vatican transformerait leur maison en un modeste hôtel pour accueillir la délégation du Pape pour sa toute première visite en Ouganda. .

UN HÔTEL EST NÉ

Fairway Hotel est né en 1969 comme l'un des premiers hôtels d'Ouganda et a été officiellement lancé en février 1971 par Son Altesse l'Aga Khan avec 50 chambres opérationnelles.

FORMER LES ESPRITS DE DEMAIN

Peu de temps après, en 1972, sous le régime d'Idi Amin, le Fairway Hotel a été repris par le gouvernement pendant la guerre économique en Ouganda pour devenir une base militaire. Plus tard, il a été converti en premier institut de formation hôtelière et touristique du pays de 1989 à 1991.

RETOUR À L'HÔTEL

Le retour de la famille Jaffer en Ouganda en 1990 a vu l'hôtel évoluer en un hôtel-boutique de 100 chambres avec des salles de conférence, des restaurants haut de gamme, des piscines et de beaux jardins. Bon nombre des décisions qui ont façonné cette nation ont été prises sur ces mêmes bases.

Yesterday I arrived at Fairway Hotel nice early because I had a lot to do on my laptop. Like every week, I wanted to sit in the Professor where it is usually nice and quiet and dark. I need that peace and quiet so I can continue working on my laptop with concentration. I ordered a cappucino with a couple of croissants with cheese. But then it took so incredibly long before they finally served my order (30 or 40 minutes). All that time I was waiting in the Professor's opening. Then suddenly, the woman sitting next to the reception desk at a little desk of her own approached along with a man. The woman told me that the man wanted to sit in the Professor with a whole group. I then thought "Oh no, I just wanted to go there and work on my laptop in peace and quiet". The man also suddenly started commanding me around. He said to me "YOU OPEN THE DOOR!". I opened the door and tried to explain to him that I also wanted to sit in the Professor and that I liked the space because it is always so quiet.I asked the woman who always sits next to reception for the manager because she was not managing the situation.At this, she started laughing at me humiliatingly.I stood for some more time waiting for my order and for a manager but there was nothing for me but to leave the Professor.I sat somewhere else for some time until I was no longer comfortable there either.Then I tried to explain this situation to a manager (not an Indian) but I did not feel heard by him.He didn't seem to do anything with the information and kept starting phone calls. And he even told me that the man who wanted to be in the Professor had told lies about me. He said I blocked the opening while I was waiting there for a long time because it took so long for them to serve my order. And he said I said the Professor is my place. These are lies. This was really a terrible experience at Fairway Hotel!!!

We take all guest feedback seriously and your comments will be thoroughly reviewed to address the issues aired.

However, it should be noted that the Professor Bar like every other common space in the hotel is a public space and is open for each and every guest that would love to use it.

Also the woman that sits next to the reception was approached by the guests that also needed to use the space and came to request you to allow them to enter as well, but you didn't allow them to enter. This can be confirmed by the camera footage.

We sincerely apologies for the guests response however non of the people standing in front of you yelled at you in anyway.

It should also be noted that at Fairway, we value value the security of our clients and their property unlike your comment about, "your laptop being stolen". The guests who intended to use the space are highly respected clients who wouldn't partake in such activities.

We also would like to apologies for the delay in your order. However, it should be noted that the reason for the delay was that on every visit you make to the hotel, you prefer to be served by the male service team and unfortunately that morning, we had the female team working the breakfast shift.

Hi your restaurants food is excellent.

However you need to improve service like keeping towels when rooms are cleaned and have better TV channels.
