Avis THE QUISBY La Nouvelle-Orléans

This place has really went to hell since 2019 from the front desk receptionist to the housekeeping they are unprofessional and ghetto as hell I can't to receive my package so I longer have to look at some I dislike there no need to reply I'm no longer welcome fine I don't need to stay anywhere I'm taken out of my comfort zone and feel like I have to walk on egg shells to stay somewhere I'm paying for I know I won't get my brand new pink tote bag but I better get my package I ordered on 4-10-24 ...crackheads smoking literally outside the door people stuff stolen I just you spend the extra money and stay somewhere safe and not be bothered by the walking zombies day and night or having your stuff stolen from housekeeping DO IT!

The room is small, but it is enough for a cozy few days trip. The position is not the best, but the carstop of the green car street line (public transport RTA) is crossed the street. The easy access to public transport (safe and functional) is a big perk. The only downside is the bathroom. It is really uncomfortable because the absence of a door doesn't guarantee privacy at all. If traveling with a sibling or a good friend is manageable but I would feel extremely uncomfortable sharing that type of bathroom with a stranger. Housekeeping is on spot.

A great place and vibe

I wouldnt go for the breakfast, it's not that great but it's pretty nice to grab some coffee a tiny bite.

The living room / bar is surprisingly comfortable for what on a process level is missing some optimizations for where things are (mainly, I'm talking about that kitchen).

Sometimes the bar is less obviously attended because folks mainly attend the front desk, so maybe the two could be integrated better

The biggest thing is it's quite clean for a cheap hostel and I fled from a much dirtier one and was very happy with the people and energy at quisby

Love to stay there, nice staff, convenient location, complimentary breakfast with coffee

Very good economic for students, and people who are tight on budget.

Clean, organized, helpful service. I enjoyed my stay here, highly recommend.

Generally clean, decent rooms and nice common area. Staff was pretty rude and was generally uninterested and annoyed with helping people with any task beyond the bare minimum, so that was a bummer. Not terrible, not awesome.

Location is great, 2 min walk to the streetcar. The room (private queen) looks much better in pictures. Staff is ok. Not sure re: breakfast as it looked pretty subpar so I just got some coffee and that is all. My stay was ok but won't come back.

La cuisine, le cadre et l'accueil sont vraiment délicieux, on se retient de ne pas y aller trop souvent pour ne pas se gâcher le plaisir d'y retourner ????

宿泊費が安価な上、十分な量の朝食がついている。繁華街まで20分。部屋も清潔で不備なところはなかった。快適に過ごせた。ただ、キッチンがないのと、清掃のときの消毒水の臭いがひどく残ってたのが残念だった。臭いが消えるまではとても息苦しかった。

I stayed at the Quisby after New Years.

Let's start off with the good first: This place is super clean and an excellent value for a night. The breakfast is good too --considering it's included in the room price.

The bad:
This is not a nice or safe area. Homeless camps everywhere and people using the sidewalk as a toilet. I just came from walking around Los Angeles and Tijuana late at night and this area of NOLA (especially around the highway) is the most unsafe I felt in my entire trip.

The front desk staff are also generally rude and unhelpful. During breakfast, I overhead the front desk lady rudely yelling at a guest who did not speak English well about picking up breakfast.

Finally, I realized I had left a bag behind as soon as I boarded the train out of New Orleans. I immediately called and emailed the front desk to let them know that a bag (with my name and sealed) was there and asked for them to hold it until I could send a shipping label to return it. My subsequent emails were ignored after I sent the prepaid shipping label.

After 13 days of phone calls and emails, the manager, Miciah, finally reached out to tell me that the package was in the mail. When it arrived, I found that the bag had been opened and items were MISSING. Items from a bag that was tied closed and labeled with my name tag. The same bag that I contacted the front desk about locating 30 minutes after check out. Food had been eaten and several gifts I had taken home from my trip were stolen.

This bag was in custody of the front desk for nearly 2 weeks before placing it in the mail for return. It seems that the manager, Miciah, is frequently sick or "not in" whenever the front desk answers; my emails have gone ignored aside from telling me that USPS finally has my item after 2 weeks.

I have received no reply or explanation for the stolen items, so I am leaving this cautionary tale. If you can afford it, stay in a different hostel in this city!

Quisby being my favorite place to stay when I visited New Orleans. The place was near to french quarter and accessible street car in front of the building. The staff was friendly, perfect facilities, the room was good which is clean also comfy. Even for muslem like me, this place really have a good ambiance and friendly for travelers like their motto. Good maintenance, good food, great facilities, great hospitality, and great to be here. Im from Indonesia who stayed in NY when I visited, i stamp my country money as a souvenir at your bar. Gonna be back here and recommend this place to stay. Thank you Anne and friend for the hospitality when i stayed here. Love you quisby!

I've never stayed at a hostel before so I might not be the best judge but everyone was very friendly and the staff was super helpful. The room was a little smaller than what I expected, however it was very clean and the bathroom was amazing.

Great location, right by a streetcar stop. Free breakfast with breads, salami, grits, and coffee. Great front desk staff. My boyfriend and I shared a private queen room, it had everything a crash pad needed except for a mini fridge and microwave. However, there is a communal fridge downstairs in the lobby. The rooms are not sound proof but the guests were quiet and considerate for the most part. At the lobby you can find towels, blankets, earbuds, and in house laundry.

I enjoyed my stay here. I was a solo female traveler from the UK. Nice vibe in the bar while I was there. I stayed in a private room with an ensuite bathroom. The bed was very comfy and the room was clean .I stayed for 2 nights, then stayed elsewhere for 3 nights, then checked back in for 3 nights. My only criticisms would be that the music in the bar was quite loud on a few mornings. Like at 7am I could hear really loud music - it woke me up. I can't see the point in playing music so loud, so early in the morning. Also, when I check in for my other stay, I waited in the bar for a few hours until check in time. When I got up to my room I discovered that they hadn't yet finished cleaning. I was tired and just wanted to sleep for a bit so I told the cleaners that it was ok. And as a result I dealt with a dirty bathroom. All in all I would definitely stay here again. It's about a 20 minute walk to the french quarter, and the street car stops pretty much right outside.

Also, they give you a free welcome drink.

I love my vacation on Christmas and there for 4 days I love it I want to go back
