Les chambres, auxquelles on accède par l'extérieur comme le veut la tradition des motels américains, sont alignées autour de la piscine. Rénové en 2017, l'établissement propose des chambres modernes, simples et propres ; mais il a su conserver un certain charme d'antan. The Drifter est particulièrement populaire auprès des jeunes voyageurs venus du monde entier, qui apprécient son atmosphère et les rencontres qu'on peut y faire.

This is more like a hostel than a hotel. We came around midnight after notifying the hotel we would be arriving late. They said we should get an email with late check in instructions. We never did. Some nice people hanging out topless by the pool let us in the gated area, where we then spent an hour trying to get in contact with someone who could get us into our room. The emergency number we had was for someone who hadn’t worked there in months. The people hanging out by the pool gave us some numbers to try and we finally got someone to come give us our key(don’t even think he worked there). When we finally got into the room one of our beds had stained linens. Overall nightmare situation. Would not stay here again.

Best pool in New Orleans. Membership cost 299, 200 if you're in the local service industry or an essential worker. Salt water pool, good prices on drinks, and great DJs, really is the spot when you need to cool down from the heat

I did not stay at the hotel. I only went for some music. It was great music! The crowd wasn't really engaged in the music, though, so it felt a bit disconnected. The drinks were pretty good at a fair price and people watching is great.

I love this place. I’ve never stayed in the actual hotel, but the bar, pool, and parties are always great. The staff is super friendly and the drinks are decently priced. The vibes are great. And it’s a safe space for everyone to enjoy themselves no matter who they are. Definitely give this place a shot. They gave the best pool parties!
