This was our second stay and I can’t say enough nice things. We loved it the first time but the second they out did themselves. We booked on AirBnb and didn’t see that the room had a shared bathroom. The woman at the desk when we checked in noticed we were not expecting that and went above and beyond to get us an upgrade to a room with its own bathroom. Her name stared with an A (I’m so sorry I can’t remember) but she was a rockstar. We will definitely be coming back and always recommending

The room was not clean, and due to the high amount of moisture and the smell of mildew, I requested to switch rooms. However, upon moving to the room directly next door, I encountered the same issues with the smell and moisture in the air. Interestingly, the hallway and outdoor areas did not have this problem.
Upon entering both rooms, I noticed a significant change in temperature, air texture, and smell. Despite requesting another room change, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that I could only receive a refund and find alternative accommodation.
With limited time and no other options available, I decided to stay after being offered a discount on my stay by Alejandro.

FYI- No one has reached out to me about confirming my discount and it’s been over a month. I reached out a few weeks ago and I was told Alejandro was fired and the “new” manager would call me back. This place is a joke.

Amig was SUPER helpful! Excellent service from him. I appreciate you Amig!!
Apartment rooms are beautiful and super spacious. Great location just removed from all the action. Easy walking distance to everything. I just wish they'd turn the music down in the lobby though. Its exceptionally loud.

Being here reminded me of a small island with exclusive essentials. The guest experience is what made it feel like home. Rooms are authentically appeasing to the eye, I would recommend taking a journey through this property because Its very soothing and welcoming. Great job to the staff!

This cute hotel was the best for our one night stay in NOLA! Service was amazing. Jordan the General Manager was so kind and energetic, as soon as he heard it was our first time in the city he whipped out beads for us. He totally made our trip here!

Pros: Pretty property (insta friendly), rooftop space, bar and food, luggage storage, employees were all super helpful and nice to me my stay, great location (10-15 from French Quarter, you can walk a lot of places), was able to check me in 2 hours early, safety (there's a key card to scan into the building after hours so no one can just wander in

Cons: Mold in rooms (which I'm sure is from the humidity in NOLA and a mix of other things), broken things in rooms (my AC was broken and needed batteries, part of the shower curtain line was broken, TV didn't work), very thin duvet provided (room was very cold), couldn't open my window shade to get any natural light because I was on the first floor and if I did everyone could see straight into my room

Overall, for the price I paid and the fact I only stayed one night, I'd give it 3 stars, but I wouldn't book here again unless they figured out the problems within the rooms and if I stayed in NOLA longer I definitely would've switched hotels. The size of the room was perfect for 1 person, but the layout is so weird (shower right next to the bed would steam the ENTIRE room). You can also hear EVERYTHING at ALL times

We booked a room with a queen bed for 4 nights via Agoda. We received a double bed in room 12 which felt like a prison cell with the shower and sink in the bedroom with us, a sticky concrete floor with no carpets, a musty smell, and limited to only a single room key. There was also a rusty nail with a plastic water bottle cap on it sticking out of the brick wall along-side the bed. After one night they told us we had to check out of room 12 and downgraded us to a room with a bathroom that is shared with another room because they didn't seem to have our Agoda reservation. After another guest didn't show up, they were able to upgrade us to room H2 with a king size bed, however this room had no blanket on the bed and the air conditioning was not adjustable and the room was very cold and there were no hangers in the closet and there was something gross on the decorative pillow (see photo). We asked for a blanket and some hangers but the blanket was more of a throw and wasn't big enough for the bed and the sheets had stains on them (see photos) and the hangers were too small to hang on the bar in the closet (see photos) so we hung them on the walls... we ended up checking out and staying in a slightly more expensive but way nicer hotel. The staff was nice enough and they tried to solve our problems, but we didn't want to keep struggling with this unsatisfactory hotel.

When we arrived around 7pm, it was raining. We parked at a nearby parking garage for $25 per 24 hours. We were given our room key, but told that it was missing the fob to get us in the building after 11pm.

We stayed in room 6 on the ground floor. Walking up, I could see the door wasn't hung in a way that sealed the room and there was quite a gap at the top. Upon entering, the bathroom floor had standing water all around the toilet. This was likely from the rain. We went to ask about changing rooms and were told there were no rooms available. We then asked for towels and were told we could switch rooms the next day.

After mopping up the water, the towels started to turn brown. It was humid, so we turned on the mini split A/C unit. The noise that came out of that thing was unbearable. We chose to turn it on and go to the hotel bar for our welcome well drink, while the room cooled down. The staff were very nice. The bar closed at 10pm that Friday night.

Going back to our room, we opted to shower and get ready for bed. The water pressure coming out of the shower head wasn't good, but if you switch to the hand held, it was non-existent. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner. I don't know what was in there, but i cannot recommend them.

They don't have cable TV, only smart TVs. When our TV could connect to the WiFi, we were able to watch Netflix or mirror our phones. Someone was still signed in to their Netflix, so if you use it, be sure to sign out before you leave.

We turned the A/C off, so we could sleep. The noise from the unit versus the humidity was a coin toss as to which was worse.

The next day, we were told the only room we could move to, had a broken bed, so we'd have to stay where we were. We did get a key fob though.

It's now Saturday night and we had a 7:30am appointment the next morning. Plus it's daylight savings weekend, so we lost an hour at 2am. Well Saturday night was a rooftop party with a DJ that sounded like it was in our room and lasted until midnight.

We never saw any breakfast, even though it was mentioned. The staff were as nice as they could be, without any ability to actually help. The bed was comfortable. The location is good.

The hotel's vibe is cool and inviting. The room we stayed in was very small and difficult to navigate around the bed, but still good for the price. We met Jordan, the new Manager, as of 3 weeks ago, and he seemed really nice and helpful with local food choices.

All in all, if I was 20 years younger, going to NOLA to party and wanted to save a few bucks, this would be a viable option.

The best hotel in NEW ORLEANS! They make it feel like home and the bar staff are the best part of this place! They make the vibe before a night out! It’s so amazing so beautiful so elegant. The place to be. If you’re not staying at the Selina Catahoula where are you staying!

Best part of this place is the closeness to canal and bourbon street. The arrangements confused me, the have the hotel side and air bnb side. I was on the air bnb side and I wasn't impressed with my room

Super charming lobby and bar, great vibes, great location, great prices, GREAT STAFF, great music, great service. Let down by a room that went past “small and quirky” to “uncomfortable and smelly”.

The Selina has a beautiful design that gives you a great vibe. It mixes old fashioned furniture with a modern style. It’s a great place for pictures. The bed was super comfy. Only thing the bath is a bit small but considering the cost it’s perfect. It has a roof top! and a awesome bar.

The whole experience was rocky until it became absolutely unacceptable. First couple of days we were trying to get the WiFi password, employee was rude and had an attitude about it, and then gave us the wrong password! Had to end up leaving and dropping $400 on another hotel because the toilet randomly overflowed and spilled all over the floor. Called the desk and he said he didn’t know what to do about it, that he’d try to call someone and call us back. Waited over an hour for a phone call back, meanwhile trying to manage the water that was overflowing. Ended up just packing our bags and going to another hotel. Never got a call back. When we went downstairs, the employee was outside smoking. Never had such unhelpful and rude service. Don’t stay here if you’re expecting help.

Location is the only thing this hotel has going for it honestly. Stayed with my girlfriend there Sat-Tues because we had to change hotels on Tues night due to the toilet overflowing and no one coming up to fix it. Most of the staff was rude and unhelpful, our room had colored feathers floating in it from someone having stayed there during Mardi Gras and it wasn't cleaned. Weak WiFi and the front desk attendant gave us the wrong password when we asked and was just generally rude. If we come back to NOLA, we will be booking another hotel. Our experience here was awful.

We booked here because the hotel website made it look like a fun stay that had some character. The front desk person was not friendly when we got there and the room we were put in was right behind the lobby so we could hear everything. Could not get any sleep because it’s also right by the elevators. The AC did not work the entire time. We stayed for 4 nights. Each of the different front desk attendants were rude. We heard other guests complain about the hotel stay so we knew this place was trash. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Awful experience. Front desk staff were rude and bothered by any typical request. (e.g., asking for a bath towel/asking if we could check in at the time they told us the room would be available.) Room was not clean when we arrived and smelled foul. Air conditioning unit was loud and did not work properly. Overall a very disappointing experience made worse by rude staff. Will not being staying at any Selina hotel again

The location and price is this hotels pros. Save a little extra money and stay at any other hotel; the cons definitely outweigh both of those:
DON'T TRUST THE PARKING RATES! The website says the o'Keefe garage is $20 / night; however, during our stay the rate fluctuated from $30-40 / night with no in-out rate.
Poor scheduling may lead to no one available to check you in (See additional details)
The rooms are all different so you may end up with a bed one foot off the ground or no desk. Don't trust the pictures.
Don't worry too much though about the desk because the wifi is so bad you won't be able to get any work done anyways.
Prepare to bring earplugs because depending on your room, you can hear every sound in the hotel. On our last night, a pair got in around 4am; not only did their conversation wake us up but we could hear them entering and exiting the 1st floor door from our 3rd floor room.
There are some rooms attached to the hotel; however, others are in a separate building next door, so going to the bar or lobby means leaving your building and going next door. Not fun during a flash flood warning rain and a lot of the areas outside the hotel lobby/ common areas flood during rains.
The rooftop bar and lobby bar have inconsistent days/hours so be sure to check if you're planning to go to either.

More details:
We (along with a lobby full of others) waited for over an hour to check in because there was no one working at the hotel. Eventually, one of the staff came and had to call around to various others in an attempt to get someone to check us in. After a while, one of the maintenance men had to take pictures of each of our IDs on his personal phone to pass out keys so we wouldn't be stuck in the lobby anymore.

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent stay at this hotel. As a young professional, I believe it is crucial to provide feedback when expectations are not met, in the hopes of improving future experiences for both myself and other potential guests. First and foremost, upon entering my room, I was appalled to discover that the air conditioner had been hastily repaired with duct tape. Not only did this indicate a lack of attention to detail, but it also raised concerns about the overall safety and functionality of the equipment. Additionally, the absence of proper insulation made the room uncomfortably cold, which significantly impacted the quality of my stay. Furthermore, it was disheartening to encounter mold in the bathroom. Mold not only poses health risks but also reflects poorly on the cleanliness and maintenance standards of the hotel. This was particularly disappointing as I had hoped for a pleasant and hygienic environment during my visit. Moreover, I had called your hotel twice prior to my arrival to confirm the availability of breakfast. I was assured on both occasions that breakfast would be provided. However, to my dismay, no breakfast was available during my stay. This not only inconvenienced me but also contradicted the information provided by your staff. As a result, I was left without a proper meal to begin my day, which greatly impacted my overall experience. Adding to my disappointment, I attempted to address these issues with the manager during my stay but received no call back. Additionally, I sent an email outlining my concerns, yet I have not received a response to date. This lack of communication only further emphasizes the disregard for guest satisfaction and the unwillingness to take responsibility for the issues encountered. I believe it is essential for your hotel to uphold the standards promised to guests, especially when it comes to basic amenities, cleanliness, and customer service. It is disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism and accountability. The only positive experience was the help at the end of my stay by Darielle at checkout.

PIn light of these numerous failed expectations and the lack of proper resolution, I kindly request a refund for my stay. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and address these concerns promptly. I sincerely hope that my feedback will be taken into consideration and that necessary actions will be taken to rectify the issues highlighted. It is my belief that by doing so, your Selina hotel can regain the trust and loyalty of its guests, ensuring a positive experience for future visitors.
