HOTEL ST. MARIE

The lobby was very welcoming. No issues at checkin. There's a beautiful courtyard for relaxing, coffee, or to sit for a drink.
The rooms were very homey and clean, not commercial. We were very comfortable, the entire stay. The only con was there was a gap under the door that let light through and we could hear people coming and going. The rooms are very close together. It wasn't a big deal because once they were in their rooms, we could not hear anything.
We did a lot of sightseeing, being gone all day and came back to a clean room and fresh towels every day.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on the last day. We tried to grab breakfast at the hotel Cafe, but service was a bit slow with only one person taking orders, so we went somewhere else. Dinner was excellent, no issues. The catfish poboy was seasoned well and was very good.
I’ve stayed here before and had a top floor balcony overlooking the courtyard. Was disappointed to return this time and learn that our top floor room had no balcony. Looks like most rooms on the fifth floor only have windows. Noted for next time. The room darkening curtains let in light from the sides when closed and I’d say the bed was more bouncy than firm.
