Hotel: So well done but does not feel over done of that makes sense. We actually spent more time at this hotel than any other one that we stayed at. Upon entering the room they had a cute vintage like radio playing the local Jazz station and we listened to it the entire time. A complimentary bottle of wine and two bottles of mineral water. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was cleaned every day. The room had a massive with a claw foot tube and huge bathroom. There is a porch right outside for guests only and can get loud if guests are out there late night and maybe not so private we used our shoes to keep the shutters shut. The room we were in was next to the street so can be loud with the streetcars.(I always bring ear plugs) The room next to us had their TV so loud it sounded like it was on surround sound all night long. These were the only downfalls of the room. There is free coffee in the coffee bar in the morning but tea is not included and kind of expensive. However it was the best cup of tea I have ever had.
We had Christmas brunch and it was so good. The firepits outside are so nice to have at happy hour. The place is popping at happy hour but you can see why. We played pool in the pool, drank drinks by the fire, watched the streetcars go by over morning coffee, took naps with the windows open. Just totally enjoyed. All of the guests and customers were so nice.
The only thing I wish is that they. had maybe a place to fill a water bottle somewhere for guests.
Location: GREAT! We walked all over the garden district, went to the french quarter one time and were so over stimulated, came back to the hotel that felt like home. Loved all of the restaurants and shops on magazine street (20 min walk) Felt safe a night. Loved the char grilled oysters at Superior Seafood before we went out one night.
Would stay here again for sure. I want to check out some of their other properties next time. They are doing a great job.
