Original review:
First: if you plan on staying at this hotel and plan on adding breakfast service at additional cost at the attached Luke restaurant, do NOT add it as you will not receive a refund for your remaining prepaid breakfast credits at the hotel if there are any issues at the restaurant. We paid $50 a day for breakfast for all 4 days of our stay and only went once due to very poor service at Luke. This cost us $150 in unused breakfast credits. There are other, better breakfast options on the same block.
This hotel was OK. It looks nicer online. It was a long wait to check in and it seemed like the first person I encountered at the front desk might have been a new hire. She did not apologize for my wait time as she tried to figure out how to check me in (about 5-10 minutes). After a poor breakfast experience at the attached Luke restaurant which we prepaid for, hotel management would not offer any type of adjustment to our bill claiming there was nothing they could do. So I guess nobody at the hotel, including management, can make your experience better if you encounter a major issue at the hotel. The rooms at the hotel were spacious and cleaned every day. This hotel is in a great location and close to all of the attractions in New Orleans. I was disappointed that they did not have coffee in the lobby after 11AM like most hotels do as it was desperately needed since we didn't receive service at the attached restaurant.
As other people have mentioned, there is a certain dampness to the rooms. I could see old mold stains on the ceiling of the bathroom and outside of the bathroom too. I know NOLA is humid but things can be done to combat the dampness inside.
The hotel is getting three stars because it functions and has a nice location. It's in the CBD but you are close to everything. It is also quiet at night.
It is surprising that this is a Hilton property as it is really not maintained well. I hope this hotel gets updated as I probably wouldn't stay here again. It was disappointing that this is what I used my Hilton points on.
