Amazing location, great service, the Davenport Lounge is a must, free beignets in the lobby, spacious rooms…must I say more? I loved my stay here and can’t wait to return!

First we were given the WRONG room number and our electronic keys OF COURSE did not work. Then when we FINALLY received the correct room number, only ONE key worked. For too much ridiculous and unnecessary hassle at this price point. I won’t stay here again!!!

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton from March 25-27th while we were in town for a conference. The hotel was okay, the best part was the service by Kevin. Kevin MAKES this hotel the amazing experience that it is. He greated us with a smile every single day, offered us beverages and asked to know more about us. If I come back to New Orleans, I would be sure to stay at this hotel to see Kevin again.

Stayed here for my wife’s birthday. The restaurant in lobby has live musicians playing on weekends. It was beautiful. In addition they have fresh hot French Beignet in the afternoon. They are better than anywhere else.

Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton on Canal Street in New Orleans was outstanding. The hotel's prime location adjacent to the French Quarter was convenient, and the rooms were stunning. The exemplary service from the staff was five-star, making our experience truly exceptional.

Love this hotel. Hit or miss with pricing. Gotta time it right with booking. Phenomenal spa. Do not recommend the bamboo massage though (goodness it hurt).

Great breakfast but absolutely terrible hotel management/service and subpar room. Click to read more:

Long story but we move to stay in the Courtyard Marriott suite we booked to extend our visit by a few days. The buildings are adjoined. 3 hours later the Ritz-Carlton staff had thoroughly “lost” the clothes I left in the closet. No one else had checked in and I suspect no one in leadership could communicate with my Spanish speaking housekeeper to see where she stored or stashed the items. I spent the next 3 days being jerked around by various clueless leaders who didn’t know one another’s, or staff’s, names!

I asked Q, the assistant Director of Housekeeping, what the housekeeping process was and she said it is to deliver all left behind items to the office immediately. Nothing was ever turned in. I asked if she knew who the housekeeper was on my floor. She offered that the housekeeper was a “Spanish lady” whose name she could not recall because the housekeeper had started just 2 weeks prior.

Q could see the concern on my face and told me THEE Ritz-Carlton would find my clothes or pay to have them replaced. I believed her. She said she’d send the Loss Prevention person to take a report.

While waiting I made small talk with a security guard who’d worked there for over a decade. I learned that J, the disappointing manager I’d asked for help, had just started at the site a week ago. He hadn’t circled up the teams to introduce himself and, like the housekeeper, or “Q’s” full name, few people knew J’s name either.

The Loss Prevention person, N, said she “believed me” in an off putting way that made me think she wouldn’t have if my multi-day ordeal hadn’t been so unique. She spoke with authority, stating she would see whose room keycard entered my room. Even if I didn’t get my clothes back for some strange reason she would get to the bottom of the mystery and report back. I asked for her direct number after she took mine promising a follow-up call. I later learned the number was not direct. Later that day I came by after shift-change to reconnect with the evening manager, J. I assumed he’d be on the case. He had no update, interest, or concern. He did offer to send more emails to people I image were just a room over.

My 3rd and last day staying in the adjoining Marriott, I returned to see J dressed down wearing sunglasses pushing an empty cart. It looked like he was moving into the building, and keeping a low profile. He refused to look my way, so I ran over and asked “any update?”, “No, I’m not working” he responded, coldly. The crew at the front desk didn’t have an update either. I left New Orleans empty handed.

I never received a call from N in Loss prevention. I called a few times but she wasn’t scheduled or available. Some time later corporate called, responding to the emailed report, to say they would not reimburse me for the clothes but they could still turn up. I called N asking if she remembered to find out which housekeeper tended to my room. She said the housekeeper indicated nothing was left behind but she could not or would not tell me who cleaned it. I don’t think N speaks Spanish either.

The Ritz-Carlton made no attempt to make this right with me and customer service email addresses bounced back.

I hope they see this and will consider hiring leaders who speak Spanish, introduce themselves to staff, and lead first with a common-sense search before composing emails. The departments felt overly and unnecessarily siloed and disconnected. Clerks, concierges, housekeepers, security, and management were unable to answer basic questions about other departments or even communicate with one another in real-time. This resulted in hours of my time wasted and clothes unreturned. This was not a positive Ritz-Carlton experience. I do not recommend this place.

First time staying at the Ritz and was underwhelmed by some of the service experienced. Some employees were great but the repeated instances of subpar service was off putting given the caliber/cost of stay.

Amari is the best bartender - makes the best Hurricane by far that I had in New Orleans! The crab beginets are absolutely to die for - even more so with the Tabasco sauce at Amari's recommendation! Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff really do go above and beyond!

I don't know why this hotel got 4 stars. The location is good, but the hotel room itself is really old and smells musty. When I checked in, the room looked cleaned, but a pair of boots were left in the closet and a thank you note to another guest was left in the room with chocolates. When I told the front desk, they acted like nothing was wrong. Then today after I checked out, I was charged for using their snack bar for close to 100 dollars! They fixed it, but I doubt that someone was not completely checked out of that room when they gave me the room. The phone in the room didn't even work and when I told a front desk person, she responded, "I don't know," and that was it. The first day, the bathroom sink was clogged. The hot and cold water handles of the sink are messed up, so even when you turn on cold water, hot water comes out. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

The cost of the hotel did not meet the level of service needed to justify it. The Ritz experience didn't exist here, outside of Kevin who is the reason for a 3. Kevin went above and beyond to assist our organization. Most of the time, I was met with attitude from team members. I waited 10 minutes to get my luggage from the concierge. The iron had a weird white substance that oozed out of it and ruined my shirt. I talked to 3 people about it, it was never resolved. The rooms were dated and underwhelming.

My daughter married in the hotel. All of the staff made the event so memorable. We had a welcome party in the lounge with a signature cocktail. From start to finish we wish we could do it all over again. Thank you Emily and the staff at the hotel.

Many things were not good!! But, the only thing that is not acceptable is they reuse the products in the room. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. If you take any of these products they charge you $70.00 per item. I wanted to take the rest of the body lotion until I read the card. I would not have used it had I known it had been used before me!! Very disgusting, and not sanitary!!

I decided to do a staycation for my birthday and spent two nights here. The room was extremely clean…probably the most clean I’ve ever seen at a hotel. The restaurant is delicious, from the breakfast buffet to the small bites in the Davenport Lounge. I don’t know what they put in the pancakes but I cannot stop thinking about them. The spa was excellent! The location is everything and an easy walk to the Saegar Theater and restaurants. Valet was quick, efficient and the staff were very professional. I had a great time and highly recommend the Ritz Carlton! I’ll definitely be back for my next staycation.

Great location , the rooms itself are very small. I wouldn't consider this a t star hotel I switched to a better hotel. Roosevelt and Kimpton are a billion times better. This should be classified a 3 star hotel.
