Raving reviews online so expectations were extremely high. Oven roasted chicken was very good but portion was too much for two pax. Pretty much one chicken, some oysters and we are done. Nonetheless still a great restaurant

Do yourself a favor and remember to order the roasted chicken with bread salad right when you get seated. Don’t delay. It takes an hour and doesn’t go in until you order it.

A little sub par when you consider the costs. I would not recommend the roasted chicken, the food in general was a little sub par.

Has always been a favorite! Drinks and apps at the bar, dinner at a table. Roast chicken with bread salad was divine, as well as the fried squash appetizer- divine! Excellent cocktails ????

Simply superb. Zuni has been a San Francisco institution for decades but I am still impressed with the perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned fresh food that they serve. The roast chicken and oysters are rightfully famous, but many other things on the specials menu such as their pastas and salads as well as their mixed drinks (including non-alcoholic options) are world class. The food, diverse and well-curated music, and light-filled room are with matched with happy, attentive, and authentic service. One of my favorite meals in any city. Bravo.

Not very impressed with the food, however the service and atmosphere where both top notch. Although the chicken is highly celebrated it was simply average and based of the cost it was certainly one of the lower values we enjoyed in SF. I understand it's iconic but I will not be returning especially after several other high-end experience

Zuni Café, nestled in San Francisco, serves up top-notch dishes in a cozy yet classy setting. The roast chicken here? Unreal. I still dream about its crispy skin and juicy meat. But it's not just about the chicken; their salads burst with flavor, and the pasta dishes hit the spot. Plus, their desserts? Divine. The staff knows their stuff and adds to the experience. If you're in SF and craving a memorable meal, Zuni Café is the spot to hit up.

I really dislike restaurants that add a 20% tip to every check. This morning, my friend and I split the check and he added 20% not realizing that 20% had already been added. Fortunately, he was able to scratch through it. To their credit, they put a red stamp on the check stating that a tip had been added. I still don't like it.

We ordered what they are known for, the roast chicken, and it was very tasty. Probably one of the best roast chicken I’ve had. I think the thighs were the best part since the breast can be dry, so the bread that was filled in the chicken with balsamic meshed really well with.

The chicken has tree nuts!

We ordered Caesar salad, the cheese and crackers dessert, bread + butter, and eton mess.

The salad was good since the dressing was much lighter and the croutons crispy but not hard.

The cheese and cracker with apricot was heavy and strong on the cheese, the preserves balanced it out very well.

The bread and butter was ok. Not warm, could have more butter.

Eton mess was also decent, filled with cream, rhubarb.

I thought it was interesting and probably part of their service that the wait staff remember all your orders without pen or paper. Service was friendly and we enjoyed our dinner here. We lucked out on parking, didnt see many spots.

Great atmosphere. Our mains were below average. The sea bass was overcooked. The sides didn’t have much flavor either. It was nice to try but I won’t go back. There are so many better restaurants in the city.

Glad we made a reservation!

Great service. Menu constantly changes so we didn't know what to expect, but everything was delicious, delightfully inventive with thoughtful pairings of flavors.

Michelin, just give them a Star already!

Had supper with some friends from out of town. The food was delicious (I had the risotto), but our server failed to capture our order correctly (somehow missed our request for apps with our drinks), did not have water brought to the table (we had to ask repeatedly), and was generally aloof.

Due to the layout of the restaurant, some of their tables upstairs are awkward angled trapezoids and staff would repeatedly bump into my chair leg without acknowledgement or apology.

The food is good, but don't expect great service and do not sit at the angled tables upstairs.

I don’t think I have been reprimanded more in any other restaurant in my life. We were constantly being told what we were doing wrong and we had a very nervous/strange waiter who was super slow. The whole restaurant just had an overall a very unfriendly and rushed environment. Food requests were not handled well either, so we weren’t really happy with that. We will not be back.

A necessary stop for any San Franciscan or visitor. Live piano accompanied a buzz of activity in the cozy interior. The drinks were strong. The bread was hearty. And the steak was tender and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend this place when it’s drizzling and cold and you need a warm refuge with friends over drinks.

Showed up with no reservation. Got a 2 top right away. Cocktails were perfect, waiter was attentive, and the chicken speaks for itself. Live jazz pianist was cherry on top.

We came for a pre show dinner and it was perfect. Great vibe and service. Corner table facing market street is the best spot in the house… ask ahead. We got martinis, shoe string fries, and Caesar salad. All lived up to the hype.

Historic venue serving premier dishes with time honored attention to detail and exquisite taste!
Enjoyed Oysters on the half shell, Whole Brick Oven Chicken, deelish House Cesar, Mountain of Shoe String Potatoes, Homemade Pear tart with house made Crème de Leche (ala mode). Espresso Cafe’ was superb served with a raw sugar cube. Cocktails Devine and Boozy with potent flavour! Well worth the reservation and slowww dining experience while the notes of piano music wafts through the dynamic restaurant. Delightful people watching moments.

A près y avoir dîné (en 2009), on a plus jamais le même avis sur le poulet rôti...ici, il est exceptionnel..
La salle est spacieuse avec une super mezzanine, la carte des vins est gargantuesque et on peut même y amener son vin (droit de bouchon très cheap)
Un resto incontournable à SF.
Le soir y aller plutôt en taxi (on est à SOMA, le sud de market, prudence).
