The only downside with the fully automated service experience is that you can't easily special order anything. Even just asking for more pickled ginger is impossible to do when the electronic ordering tablet
I appreciate how efficient it is especially when I have cravings and know what I want. I can lounge and spend time or have a tasty and fast lunch if I'm shopping in the area.
Today I personally ordered the ebi fry curry and horse mackerel nigiri. It was busy so that meant lots of different things were getting ordered. I've been here before where the food felt a bit cold but my fish was the right temperature, firm and not overly fishy.
The ebi fry curry could have had another piece but it fulfilled my craving. All the booths were taken so we sat at the wall section. The host was able to combine me and my partners bills even though we ordered on separate screens so that was nice. We are in and out in about 30 mins which was pretty awesome.
For my food and an additional rainbow roll and salmon sashimi with tip it rounded to about $70.
