Great location. Attentive and kind staff. Beautiful historic details give the hotel a wonderful texture. Breakfast is so delicious (made to order in the formal dining space not a buffet) and the coffee is particularly wonderful. Rooftop bar offers great views and tasty cocktails. I recommend the tiki bowl drank.

My sister and I stayed here for a few nights during our sister road trip and we LOVED it. We loved how tiny this hotel was and the great service that accompanied it. We ate a delicious breakfast each morning before exploring and on our lazy day we decided to eat dinner at the rooftop restaurant (great drinks and service). There is a small parking lot that is $15 a day. We had a small car so we had no problem driving in and out. If you’re a nervous driver or have a huge car, I would recommend street parking (plenty of it).
Overall, we had a great experience. As two ladies traveling solo we felt very safe and comfortable at all times. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again in the near future :)

Might be the nicest or 2nd nicest Hampton Inn I’ve stayed in. The staff was great, very helpful with our late check and the facilities are excellent. Everything was clean and functional and the little game room made for a great break for the kids when the rain moved in.

Stayed here for an FRC tournament with 30 high schoolers.
Here’s what I liked:
- spacious room with an extra out at the window where we stored suitcases (2 suitcase stands!) out of the way yet easily accessible
- extra padded cubes for additional seating beyond the desk chair
- night stand had a large pull-out shelf with built-in outlets that was perfect for storing tech as it charged
- pull-out shelving in the bathroom plus an extra ledge under the mirror for placing toiletries.
- Plenty of space for 4 people
- extra counter space behind door for the coffee maker and mini-fridge storage.
- large spacious dining room
- large conversation area off the lobby was a great space to gather before and after meals
- walking distance to the beach
- tucked away by itself between two roads and an attractive pond.
- a walking path that heads along the bluff runs right past the hotel. Access to the trail doesn’t require crossing roads
- within 1/2 mile from tasty restaurants - fast food and fine dining.
- free toothbrush and travel toothpaste! I was expecting to have to pay but this was an unexpected and much appreciated perk.
Things I would want to know about or change:
- Beds were pretty firm. I was okay for 2 nights but my hip was aching during night 3
- again with the hooks in the bathroom - 4 people, 3 hooks. The math does not work.
- they won’t send housekeeping to your room unless you request it at check-in. This wouldn’t be as big of an annoyance if I had been checking into this room personally. However, I was part of a larger group and checking in was handled by the booster club president. I doubt they asked her about housekeeping for each of the 20-ish rooms we needed.
- friendliness and approachability of staff was hit and miss.
- no coat hooks - this would be nice for beach towels or wet coats when it’s rainy
- breakfast buffet room was very small and quite hot

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic location. The owner/ manager could not have been more friendly or helpful. The room was great for us, very comfortable bed, the rooftop bar and diner an unexpected bonus. The breakfast was to die for.

Favorite part is the rooftop bar, with amazing views of the bay! Rooms are fun but small, limited amenities, and the location of the hotel is great and within walking distance of the water and main downtowns but it's right next to a very loud and busy road so it's not great.

I booked the petite doll room for $160 but room was not good enough for the price. I like the wall color, curtains, and the bathtub, but this is not a 4-star hotel. There’s no city view like the website says. We were looking at the window/wall of a nearby building. The bathroom lightbulb was broken. There’s no table/chair/coffee machine in the room. Limited $15 hotel parking as well. No refund or free upgrade available. So we ended up staying at another hotel and came back for breakfast. The breakfast was wonderful. Got the tacos and pancakes. So changed 1 star to 2 star.

Spent 2 nights in a second floor king room. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar and grill was great. The food was way upscale for bar food and the bartender treated us like old friends. Breakfast was amazing! I kind of felt under dressed in the dining room but my worries were put to rest when the manager told me not to worry about it. The street in front of the hotel is very busy but the rooms are quiet and comfortable. We visit Monterey once or twice a year and will definitely stay here when we are in town.

Update: The manager, Tony, was very nice and accommodating. He helped us to store our luggages and agreed to waive our $20 upgrade fee to comp for the condition of our room. Hence, I have updated my 1 star rating to 3 stars.
Original: STAY AWAY. Room is extremely old and dirty. There are hairs in the bathtub and spiders in the room. I would not recommend any one to stay here.

* Stayed in the Norma Jean Honeymoon suite. It may not be for everyone but it was a great experience for us. The building is old and that can be seen but it’s also unique and different than other hotels we’ve stayed at. The staff are very helpful and very friendly. I can’t say enough positive things about the free breakfast included! The Pancakes are amazing! While the weather closed the restaurant/roof top bar, having access to the beautiful view 24hrs a day was a treat. Elevator wasn’t working but that added to the charm and the exercise didn’t hurt. Again, it’s a very old building but that’s part of why we chose it! We will definitely stay again!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Hotel 1110. I've heard it said before but it's true, don't judge a book by its cover. The inside and decor are fantastic, the service was personable and professional. The rooftop bar and restaurant, amazing! Had a wonderful time, highly recommend!

This hotel is so dang cute and has SO much character! The outside does NOT do it justice. You walk in and are greeted with great service. The walls and floors are covered with such cute renaissance esk decor. The rooms are very interesting. A little small and the beds are not the best in comfort but it was clean and homey decorated. They have a really great rooftop terrace and the complimentary breakfast is SOOOOO good! It’s super fancy and FREE!! We felt like superstars at breakfast! Would definitely come here again.

I loved Hotel 1110. It was a cute, charming boutique hotel steps.
The location is perfect. Steps from the beach, across the street from a nice lake/park, 7 minute walk to downtown, 15 minute walk to Cannery Row, 10-15 minute drive to Carmel.
Tony at the front desk was very nice.
Their breakfast in the morning wasn't expensive and they served great food, strong coffee, and they offered a complimentary pastry with home made blueberry jam.
The bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice.
Lastly, the rooftop restaurant/bar. Although, I didn't take advantage of it, I went upstairs to take a look before I left back to Los Angeles. Stunning view of the ocean and just as charming as the hotel.
I would definitely return.
I've added three pictures (one of the lobby, two of the rooftop bar and view).

We honeymooned here and it was the most special and wholesome trip I have ever been on, and the best overall hotel experience I have ever had. We considered staying at a traditional hotel but I am so glad that we came across this little antique hotel. We loved staying in our beautiful room and the hotel is a true gem, steps away from the beach and a short walk into downtown Monterey. We were greeted by Tony when we arrived and he helped us with our bags up to our room, and he continued to make our morning each day by greeting us at breakfast (that is amazing and cooked to order- I got the pancakes every day!) The hotel and hotel rooftop is gorgeous itself and it is in a very safe neighborhood, we parked right on the street no problem. Our room was cleaned every day we were out and we would come back to fresh linens and nice breezy open windows. We will absolutely be back, we have even started considering moving to the Monterey area! Thank you so much for your kindness and wonderful hotel experience!

Cute, cool, and kitschy with world-class on-site owners. Outstanding breakfast menu, the most amazing rooftop bar, a great location, and again the best management you could ask for: super comfy beds and pretty good bathrooms. Yes, no parking is a bummer but you can Uber anywhere.

We wanted to experience a snippet of Monterey and after a long day on the road, chose to stay here because #1-it doesn’t allow pets, #2-it is adult only and #3-it looked boutique-y online. We’ve stayed at multiple “okay” properties on our journey, but yours stood out above them all. Check in manager was warm and so polite, in spite of our 10pm last-minute reservation and arrival. He personally carried our two heavy bags up three flights of stairs to our room with no hesitation. It is rare to be greeted with such care these days..I was impressed.
Our room was small but thoughtfully designed and cozy. Very European. Full marble bathroom with an excellent multi-nozzled shower. Yes! I’m a shower snob so loved that! There’s some traffic noise, but not unusual for most town or highway hotels. It’s on a boulevard. All other elements made up for this point. Super soft bed linens and thick plush towels. Plus no barking dogs or screaming parents at their cranky children.
Rooftop lounge was so pleasant with actual Dale Chihuily light fixtures, warm fire table and very polite bartendress.
Most unexpected and an absolute delight was the breakfast, included in the rate! The same manager, who checked us in, served us breakfast the next morning….well dressed, extremely polite, seating with white table linens, china cups, top notch service ambiance and creative menu; I selected polenta, soft cooked eggs and berries.
Excellent choice away from the tourist hub-bub. Highly reccommended.

My girlfriend Oana and I stayed there on Christmas Eve and loved it. Upon arrival we were greeted by the super friendly staff with complimentary hors d’ouevres, champagnes, and good conversation with the staff and other patrons. The room was all we had hoped for and more. Contrary to at least one review there was a fake fireplace that provides more than enough heat in addition to a remote control operated ceiling fan. I can’t emphasize enough that the breakfast was AMAZING, possibly the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. There are like six choices and they all sound great. I had the fried polenta and Oana had the chorizo tacos, so we can vouch for those options being very good ones. The rooftop bar was closed sadly, but it was Christmas Eve after all. We were still able to go up there and hang out, taking in the exceptional view of Monterey. A mini fridge would’ve been nice, though I’m sure they’d point out a fridge you can use if you were to ask.
