Our first visit was truly exquisite. The beef tartare was a standout, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor, while the carrot soup, made from fresh garden produce, was exceptional. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and top-notch, making our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, they delivered an unforgettable dining experience, and we can't wait to return for more culinary delights.

This place will make you feel like you are having fabulous meal at quintessential bistro in Paris on your vacation.

If there is Zazie in San Francisco, you have the girl and the fig in Sonoma.

We went on a girls trip ( 4 of us ) to celebrate bday and decided to stop at Sonoma to try this place. Since this was my idea to have brunch here based on my pleasant experiences in the past, I was hoping my friends will like this place. And they enjoyed every moment of it . And foods were exceptional, service was seamlessly attentive.

I was visiting Sonoma and stopped here for lunch. The food was great and we had the sweetest girl, Liberty, bring out our food. I almost wish she was our server! All in all it was great!

I was excited to eat here because most of the meat and produce are local, but disappointing that everything is cooked in canola oil. You would expect a high end restaurant to use better ingredients.

Overrated!!

We came here for our sister’s birthday. Initially, sparking water on tap was $6, but the manager was topping on the cake.

We mentioned to KIM that we were surprised that this was the experience we were having, as it was a special occasion. Kim’s response, “well, maybe you should go somewhere else?”

I have been a Sonoma local my whole life- I’m speechless. If the owner of this restaurant wants to reach out and try and rectify this, I might be willing to listen.

I would NEVER have someone like this in the front of my establishment.

Still… speechless

We stopped here for lunch while on a wine tasting tour. The burger was good but might have been better with a stronger cheese like goat. The espresso, cookie, and fries were great. The cookie was a special hit. The shrimp roll was good with a lot of shrimp in a local roll which was also good. Service was friendly and prompt and we liked the atmosphere.

What an experience!!

We went for our anniversary and they had set aside a great table by a beautiful window for us with a card on the table and every staff member made a point to wish us and went above and beyond to make our day special. And oh yeah did I say food is exceptional here too!

Thank you.

Looking for a lunch or dinner spot? You’ve found it here.

Great outdoor seating and ambiance. The food was good but could’ve been a little better. My steak was a little dry but still enjoyed the meal, as did the rest of my party.

This is a spot you won’t regret spending your money at. That being said, the prices are a little pricey but nothing extraordinary! Enjoy.

I heard wonderful things about this restaurant - however, the manager was incredibly disrespectful to my table. We were a party of 9, women in our thirties celebrating a marriage. We were not loud or obnoxious, but we engaged in heartfelt conversation. The manager approached us and told us many people complained about our volume. There were 3 other parties in the restaurant at the time. None of them complained. The staff was kind, however, the manager of the establishment treated us like animals. He spoke to us as if we were delinquents. Will not be returning, and we love Sonoma. Do not attend if you are a party of 5 or more.

I took my family here while in Sonoma, and it was one of the best meals. Reception was quick, and even though the restaurant was mostly full, it wasn’t too loud to have a conversation.

The duck liver mousse was smooth and creamy. The Brussel sprouts and pork belly were a perfect combo - it almost seemed like the pork belly was candied. This could be a meal by itself.

The cheese and pate platter was good, but it was overshadowed by the other starters.

The mussels were perfect - the white wine and leek sauce paired well and made for tasty frites. Pro tip - you may consider getting all of mussels out and eating it like a soup.

The duck confit was recommended, and it did not disappoint.

I’m adding this to my rotation for the next time I’m in Sonoma.

Es un lindo restaurante en el parque ppal de Sonoma. Pedimos un plato de vieiras y otro de pato. El de pato no nos gustó mucho porque era bastante hostigante pero estaba bien para probar comida francesa. El plato de vieiras estaba delicioso.

In the heart of Sonoma, where vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see and the air is perfumed with the essence of grapes ripening under the California sun, there lies a culinary gem that captures the very soul of this wine country - a girl & a fig. It’s a place that eschews the pretension often found in gastronomic havens for a down-to-earth charm and warmth, much like a beloved, well-worn cookbook filled with recipes that speak of home, history, and heart.

Stepping into a girl & a fig, you’re enveloped in an ambiance that whispers of rustic elegance and a certain je ne sais quoi that only Sonoma could lend. The menu, a love letter to the region’s bounty, promises dishes that are both comforting and exciting, familiar yet novel. It’s here, at a quaint table bathed in the glow of subdued lighting, that the journey begins with a roasted red pepper soup. This isn’t just any soup; it’s a velvety concoction that dances on the palate, each spoonful a blend of smoky sweetness and subtle heat, a testament to the beauty of simplicity when anchored in superior ingredients.

Then comes the duck confit, a dish that, in lesser hands, could easily falter but here is elevated to a work of art. The duck, impossibly tender, falls off the bone with a gentle nudge, its skin crisped to perfection. It's served atop a canvas of seasonal accompaniments that amplify the richness of the duck, creating a harmony of flavors and textures that sings of autumn.

The pièce de résistance, however, is the roasted winter mushrooms with whipped farmers cheese. It’s a dish that defies expectations, a symphony of earthy tones and creamy decadence. The mushrooms, roasted to bring out their inherent umami, are juxtaposed against the lightness of the whipped cheese, creating a balance that is both bold and delicate. It’s a reminder of the magic that can happen when simplicity meets the extraordinary, a hallmark of this unassuming yet unforgettable restaurant.

a girl & a fig stands as a beacon of culinary excellence in Sonoma, a place that embodies the spirit of the region with every dish served. It’s not just about eating; it’s about experiencing the essence of Sonoma, of partaking in a tradition that celebrates the land, its produce, and the sheer joy of sharing a meal that’s been prepared with thought, care, and a dash of whimsy. In a world that’s increasingly complex, a meal here is a return to the basics—food, wine, and good company—all served with a side of Sonoma’s indefinable charm.

What every Sonoma dining experience is supposed to be, detailed , without stuffy, local and incredible cuisine. Hen house on Tap , with a fluffy quiche and fries, bake Brussels with bacon. Need I say more. Reservations recommended.

Nestled in the heart of Sonoma, California, the girl & the fig stands as a culinary gem, celebrating the rich tapestry of local flavors and the area's illustrious wine heritage. This charming bistro, with its cozy ambiance and rustic decor, invites diners to indulge in a menu that mirrors the seasonal bounty of the region. A standout feature is its robust wine list, meticulously curated to showcase the finest selections from Sonoma and beyond, promising the perfect pairing for every dish.

Among the culinary delights, the smoked trout salad emerges as a masterpiece, blending the smokiness of perfectly prepared trout with the freshness of seasonal greens, creating a harmony of flavors. The quiche Lorraine, with its velvety custard filling and flaky crust, pays homage to classic French cuisine, while incorporating the freshest local ingredients. For those craving a bold taste, the beef tartar is a must-try, offering a blend of premium, hand-chopped beef, capers, and a hint of Dijon, served with a side of artisanal bread.

The girl & the fig not only delivers a gastronomic experience but also embodies the essence of Sonoma's food and wine culture, making it a must-visit destination for epicureans and wine enthusiasts alike.

The only reason for a 4 out 5 stars for atmosphere is there isn't much air flow on the patio. By the end of the meal we felt we needed to get outside for air movement.
