I am extremely disappointed by the hosts lack of empathy and unwillingness to help and also with Airbnb for not having a way to hold hosts accountable for emergencies such as mine, I will file a claim and likely get my money back through the insurance I paid for separately but the hosts still gets to make profit and possibly/likely still rent the room to someone else and make even more profit off of my situation.
PD: Dua Lipa made one of her famous music videos in this Hotel wich is also Wonderful!
Room was ok. Floor could've been mopped as my kids walk on the floor bare feet, and I could tell, it was not clean. Thankfully the overpowering smell of the hallway wasn't in the room.
I tried making a cup of coffee, the mug I grabbed had coffee that had caked up in the bottom. Good that I always rinse hotel/motel dishes, otherwise I don't know what I would've been drinking.
Shower had good water pressure and thankfully clean, that one thing made me feel like I could manage a one night stay.
Bed sheets had hair, pillow case and the light cover on the bed had stains on one of the two queen beds. One pillow case had a tear. Other one looked so tattered. I slept with a hand towel on it.
The room has only one table lamp. You need a flash light to see things. There's one more light that's by the front door, which was not enough at all.
AC was adequate and quiet. But a bright blue light is always on on that AC.
They did offer extra sheets when I mentioned about the stains.
So here's my take on this property. This is suitable for someone who doesn't really mind the things that I mentioned above. I picked this hotel on Airbnb because people put good reviews on. They were not accurate.
We just needed a hotel for the night, I booked with Airbnb and here I am looking at the bright blue light on the AC thinking I should've spent a little more money and gotten myself a better hotel.
However, this place is cheap for Miami, and that is the ONLY reason I can say that justifies this hotel room.
I'm bummed that the last night of my great vacation ended with this hotel room experience.
The staff was great. Monty is the guy every hotel needs. He went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived till our departure. We were absolutely happy with our stay.
Rooms are small. Front desk was nice and hospitable. The breakfast was good too!
We stayed in an oceanfront 1-bedroom suite, which was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable.
We used the beach and both pools extensively and had a really great time. Unlike some of the other hotels nearby, the pools never felt particularly crowded. The beach has much more distance between the chairs than other places on the strip. Overall a more private and relaxing experience.
Food and drinks were fantastic at the Matador and Market. Room service was a little more variable — we had one bad experience with a Caesar’s salad that came with undercooked chicken twice (sent it back, came undercooked again), but I guess these things happen.
The one issue we had was neighbors who decided to repeatedly flout the hotel’s no-smoking policy over a period of two days — an inconvenience as their smoke kept coming to our balcony. The hotel did offer to move us to another room but we were too settled by then. I was surprised that they didn’t enforce their policy a little more seriously (e.g. ask them to leave).
Overall though we had a fantastic time and we’ll be back!
We received warm welcome from manager Christopher as well as a bottle of Moet and some macaroons. Restaurant Matador Room is opened by Jean George and the arroz con pollo is just amazing.
We ate at the market a few times and some items were better than others, but way too expensive. A cappuccino at $10 is exaggerated (coming from someone who lives in Europe).
The staff were all so kind and helpful. It’s definitely a luxury hotel and ambiance but doesn’t feel pretentious. The location is excellent as it’s walking distance to many things but in a less busy area so not the center of “loudness” of South Beach. We would definitely stay here again.
I had an issue where I accidentally booked my first night here for the previous week vs the actual week. Luckily the Asst Front of House Manager Othon Pacheco helped me navigate this for the remainder of my 3 night stay.
I made it up hopefully by purchasing the beautiful items in the Edition Hotel Store (really unique items!) and lots of food and beverage at the breakfast location and on the beach.
Thank you to the entire staff for a memorable stay.
