After we returned I noticed the toilet was not cleaned, cigarette butt still on the patio and the beds were made but all our chargers were unplugged and re-plugged into different outlets and one of the chargers was missing entirely. Called down to the front desk and they checked with the cleaning staff and they were unable to locate it in the old linens and it was nowhere to be found in the room. Also informed the toilet was still dirty (provided pictures) - completely the same as it was before we left. I had purchased a disposable cleaning toilet brush and just cleaned it myself because I could not sanitarily use the toilet in the current state nor allow my family to.
Front desk profusely apologized and said someone from management would contact me in the morning as it was too late for anything to be done as it was already 9 or 10 at night.
The following morning no one from management contacted us and eventually I had to talk to someone else at the front desk relating to another issue and informed I had not been contacted back about the cleaning issue or missing charger. This person (I believe his name is Jake) apologized again and said he was unaware of any of these issues and sent up the associate director of housekeeping.
At that point I had already undertaken the task of cleaning the areas in the room myself as it was the third day we were at the hotel. The AD of housekeeping again apologized and brought up a new charger within 20 or so minutes. I appreciate the charger replacement but nothing was done at that time regarding the terribly insufficient cleaning of the room. Quite ridiculous to be on a relaxing vacation at a 5-star hotel and have to clean the floors and toilet myself. She said she would talk to whoever was front management that day and they would contact us.
We never heard from anyone and at that point I had issues everyday and didn’t want to devote anymore of my time and attention ON VACATION to these issues. We checked out without anyone discussing any of the issues we had been reporting. The experience we had at the Mandarin in March 2024 was a drastic decline from our previous experience and I am reluctant to stay at the hotel again given the many hotel options in Miami.
1. When I ordered a tea set to my room, one cup was dirty with coffee and I had to call again for replacement.
2. I personally ask the manager on my way to my room if we could have some remove the cart from our breakfast service, she literally said “I’ll send someone right away”. We were there from 7pm to midnight when we went to sleep, and nobody came.
3. They mistaking it checked us out of our room, so when we came back from the beach we found our room emptied by the cleaning service. They collected all our belongings and sent them to the security area, so I had to talk to many people for them to return everything to the room.
These are not minor details for a hotel this price. Again, it’s not a super luxury hotel but it’s pretty high end. I wouldn’t expect any of this to happen.
From the moment we stepped into our suite overlooking the sea and Brickell, we were swept away by its beauty and sophistication. The perfect decoration and open bathroom with a bathtub overlooking Brickell added a touch of elegance to our stay, making every moment feel like a scene from a fairy tale.
Breakfast was an experience in itself, with an extensive array of options that left us spoiled for choice. The friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home, and the view from the breakfast area was simply breathtaking, providing the perfect backdrop for a leisurely morning meal.
A highlight of our stay was the couple's massage at the spa, which has rightfully earned its reputation as the best spa by Forbes. The massage therapists were exceptional, tailoring the experience to our needs and ensuring complete relaxation. The spa itself, spanning three floors with sauna, relaxation rooms, and complimentary teas and fruits, was a haven of tranquility that we indulged in fully.
The hotel's gym provided everything we needed for a satisfying workout, and the pool with its stunning views and impeccable service was the perfect spot to unwind and celebrate special occasions like my birthday. The attentive staff went above and beyond, even surprising me with not one, but three birthday cakes—a gesture that truly made my day unforgettable.
I must commend the seamless check-in and check-out process, thanks to the exceptional service provided by Ramon at guest relations and Lorenzo at reception. Their friendliness and helpfulness made our stay even more enjoyable.
A highlight of our culinary experience was dining at La Mar, the hotel's Peruvian restaurant. Yazer, our waiter, guided us through an unforgettable gastronomic journey, recommending the most delectable dishes and cocktails. The pisco cocktails, scallops, and octopus were absolute standouts, bursting with flavour and creativity.
We also had the pleasure of enjoying cocktails and bites (Tuna Tataki my favourite) at the hotel's lounge, where the views were as fabulous as the service. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, with perfect Cuban music adding to the ambiance.
In conclusion, Mandarin Oriental Miami offers a truly exceptional experience that exceeds all expectations. From the luxurious accommodations to the impeccable service and unforgettable dining experiences, every aspect of our stay was nothing short of perfection. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially for those celebrating special occasions. Thank you, Mandarin Oriental Miami, for making our stay truly unforgettable and we can’t wait to be back! ☺️

*Update to hotel response: No, you did not put this in my guest profile. Because it was booked under my husband’s name which I did not state in my review (I still use my maiden name), but nice try. Starbucks Americano coffee is less than half what you charge. Your coffee is NOT better than Starbucks. Do better in a real and honest way, please.
