The Mayfair is a fabulous hotel. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and spotless clean. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. Ate at Mayfair Grill twice and happy hour sunset at Sip Sip— both incredible food and drinks. Mayfair is the best hotel in Coconut Grove.

Had another great time staying at the Mayfair. I can’t get over how gorgeous and unique the property is. The staff is always so welcoming and accommodating. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Staying at Mayfair was honestly a bizarre experience.

First of all, the building is old, but beautiful. The plants in the atrium are incredible, and the pool is great. Very nice architectural gem right in the heard of Coconut Grove.

This hotel has terrible management… here is what happened:

Day 1, in our room the sink, toilet, and shower were all leaking. Small drips of water so we used one of our towels to keep it from pooling.

Day 2, the housekeeping came, and took the only clean towels that we had, and didn’t replace them. They also took our water bottles and some other strange things. I checked at the pool, but there were also no towels there.

Around noon, I went down to the front desk and asked for some towels so that we could shower before dinner.

At 6:30pm that night - they still hadn’t brought us any towels.

I went back down to the front desk and the manager with the man bun told me they had a problem with the housekeeping and were working on getting more towels. He said he would refund our meals that we had ordered from the pool and restaurant so far.

There were no towels in the entire hotel, but he promised to refund those meals which seemed fair.

They did bring towels a few hours later. The manager never refunded the meals.

Day 3, while relaxing at the pool, they decided to have some obnoxious peloton workout class outside at the pool. Coach was yelling and everyone at the pool was annoyed. I also watched “Man Bun Manager” attempt to fix an issue where some guests had reserved a cabana but the hotel never put any sign to reserve it. Lol awkward.

Around 1pm, everyone that had a cabana had to stand up and wait around while they put towels down on the cabana cushions. Weird and awkward.

Upon leaving, I told the front desk employee about everything and he said he would get the meal refunds sorted out. I never heard from him again about that refund.

A day after checkout I received a text message from “Robert T” asking when he could give me a call. I told him a day and time, Robert confirmed, then never called…

Very strange for a hotel to have no towels, then offer to make things right, but then never actually make things right.

Overall review: 4 stars for the actual building architecture, negative 6 stars for the terrible manager of this hotel. Total rating: -2, but I guess 1 star is the lowest I can give.

The room was excellent with two bedrooms and a living area for the whole family! It was beautiful! Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. The bell hop did a great job and gave us a little history on our way up to our room. we were even given a welcome cocktail at the local Grill . You can't beat the location because it was close to everything that you could possibly want to go to . I would definitely stay there again!

Update2 - I got my folio and not only did the manager not apply the promised $50 dining credit but when I attempt to call to get it resolved no one will answer the phone or return a voicemail. So now they've managed to eek an additional $80 for breakfast out of us on the promise of it being comped for our issues... Only for it to actually be charged to my credit card. This whole place is an absolute insult and comedy of errors. I strongly urge travelers to consider alternative accomodations because this is not it.

Update - I spoke with the manager of the property who explained that the group in question did not have authorization to play music in the atrium and that they shut it down as soon as they started receiving complaints. He was understanding of our concerns and was able to offer to make it right for future stays. Due to service level I've increased the rating from 3 to 4 stars.

.....

We opted to stay here for a change of scenery before a cruise out of Miami. I REALLY wanted to like this place but I have some pretty significant reservations.

The property portrays itself as a 4.5 star property and to the immediate eye it meets those requirements. Unfortunately, once you look a little bit closer you realize that there is quite a bit of polish and maintenance missing from this property with great potential.

The positive - the architecture is stunning. It's a truly unique property and in an extremely walkable and energetic neighborhood. You can walk easily to an assortment of shops and restaurants without issue. The rooms themselves are also fairly well appointed.

We had a drink from the SipSip bar and the bar at the Mayfair Grill. We found the drinks very well made and the bartenders were good and very pleasant to interact with.

The bad - shortly after we checked in we were changing in our room and another couple walked right into the room. They apologized profusely and said they had just checked in and were given this room by staff. When we approached staff they were apologetic but starf "this happens sometimes with the software we use when two people are being checked in at the same time" - let me say; I've got a fairly extensive history staying in hotels and this is certainly something that should never be able to happen with whatever hotelier software they have in place and it should be addressed. The agent who assisted did seem genuinely apologetic and assured us that all keys had been cancelled and reissued so no security issues exist but it was still quite the jarring event.

Certain areas of the hotel are showing some disrepair and age. The rooftops pool has many area where telework is either missing or loose on the bottom which seems a bit hazardous.

It was not a warm night when we stayed but the AC seemed to be a struggle. It was set on 68 degrees but the system struggled to keep the room below 71 until around 03:00 when it cooled down outside.

The soundproofing is not great and there seemed to be little consideration for guests when approving events on the property. We were awoken at 0800 to a VERY loud party or reception in the center atrium. It was impossible to get back to sleep because it sounded like the music was piercing directly into our room. Since the hotel rooms encircle this atrium I'm assuming half the hotel guests had similar issues. We were on the 4th floor so I can only imagine how extricating this was for people on lower floors.

Something to consider is that in addition to your nightly room rate and taxes, you are also being charged $25/night in "resort fees" which k personally find ridiculous at a property that has little in terms of actual resort style amenities. It seems like a racket to suck up an additional $25/night while advertising a lower nightly rate.

In all, for what I paid I feel like the visit was slightly overpriced. I had an EXTREMELY discounted rate from a 3rd party. Even with this rare out stay was $286 for one night. This hotel does not meet $300/nt standards in my mind.

Had I laid the average rate of nearly $400/nt I would have been extremely disappointed.

This was not a well oiled machine. Although the staff was friendy, the staff was untrained in hospitality. The hotel was dirty and unsanitized. Many things went wrong during our stay. A welcome basket from the wedding we attended never made our room. We were called when we were at the airport that they had it. I would not recommend this hotel.

If you plan on booking any kind of events or you are vendor think again, There's no communications what so ever from Carlotta Haymer, only contact with her when they grab your deposit and get you to sign their agreement, then you are on your own. If you need to speak with her by phone it's though email only and if she replies you are lucky. Insurance request to vendors, time-line again is sent out two days before the event. They make vendors go though dirty disgusting loading dock filled with other cars, wet dirty floors, spilled trash, and rats. In order to move equipment for the event in there is no ramp. You have a choice of going up five slippy steps or lifting your equipment over your head to reach the upper platform to enter the security door. Cars are blocking nobody speaks english. The security is clueless why you are here they have no information to tell you what floor and how to get to the room. He points to two elevators and it's your job to know how the elevator works and if you need a key for it to move to the floor. This hotel is a joke one person does not know what the other person is doing. I would not recommend this place or their unprofessional staff. If you don't ask questions they don't speak to anyone if they know how to answer it's all guess work after that.

We went to the Mayfair House for drinks at the SipSip Rum Bar. I didn't know about this hotel and stayed at another place on this trip. When I walked in I thought next time we'll stay here. Unfortunately, the experience we had at SipSip will keep us away. It's a shame that a bar located in a hotel causes that hotel to lose business.

Undisclosed charge of $25 dollars each time you log into the WiFi says all you need to know about this hotel.

——

Ah where to begin…

Construction drilling in the walls started 08:00 in the morning

Room was accessible by other guests cards and they walked right in.

$380 dollar security deposit for 3 days, despite their website stating nothing about it.

Claiming I only paid for 1 night on arrival, despite a 3 night booking fully paid.

Staff +-

It is what it is.

Try speak with manager Greg, see if you can get a voucher for 50% to the restaurant of the price you pay to make things right.

Title: A Luxurious Haven in the Heart of Miami

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mayfair in Miami, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I entered the grand lobby, I was captivated by the elegant and sophisticated ambiance that permeated throughout the entire hotel.

The Mayfair boasts a prime location in the vibrant Coconut Grove neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful gardens and lush greenery. This oasis in the heart of Miami provides a serene and tranquil retreat from the bustling city.

Upon entering my room, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The spacious layout, plush furnishings, and tasteful decor created a haven of comfort and relaxation. The attention to detail was truly remarkable, from the luxurious linens to the sleek marble bathroom. It was evident that no expense was spared in ensuring the utmost comfort for guests.

One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the friendly and attentive front desk personnel to the knowledgeable concierge, every interaction was met with genuine warmth and professionalism. They went above and beyond to ensure that my every need was met, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay.

The Mayfair also offers an array of dining options that cater to every palate. Whether indulging in a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, savoring a delectable lunch by the poolside, or enjoying a romantic dinner at their renowned rooftop restaurant, every culinary experience was a delight for the senses.

Speaking of the rooftop, the panoramic views of the Miami skyline were simply breathtaking. The Mayfair's rooftop pool and lounge area provided the perfect setting to unwind and soak in the sun while enjoying the stunning vistas.

In addition to its impeccable amenities, the Mayfair is conveniently located near a plethora of attractions. From shopping at the nearby CocoWalk to exploring the vibrant art scene in Wynwood, there is no shortage of entertainment options within close proximity.

Overall, my experience at the Mayfair in Miami was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of luxurious accommodations, impeccable service, and prime location makes it the perfect choice for both leisure and business travelers. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a memorable and indulgent stay in Miami.

We picked this hotel for a long weekend and it was such a great discovery. Great location, amazing food and peaceful. The only negative point was a noisy wedding party on Saturday night making it harder to rest but it was a great moment

My wife and I had a fantastic time at the Mayfair. We are a couple in our 30's and love to travel. The Mayfair is the most beautiful hotel we have stayed at in quite a while! It is luscious and green on the inside. The service was excellent and the valet was always quick. The room itself was gorgeous. Well stocked bar, comfortable couch and beautifully decorated rooms. We took a bath every night in the couch while watching television with the TV that swivels to whichever vantage point you desire. Perfect location in Coconut Grove. We will be staying here whenever we are back in Miami!

A few days before my reservation with Mayfair, my household came down with norovirus. I called the hotel to explain, knowing the reservation was non-refundable. No employees quoted the no-refund policy to me, or stopped trying to help. Eventually, the Mayfair team got me to Robert, a Front Desk Supervisor. Robert graciously cancelled the reservation, without penalty. The Mayfair team absolutely did not have to take care of us as well as they did. We will be booking again with them, as soon as practical.

Overall the facility is nice. The rooms however are very dusty and have a weird smell. I had to purchase plug-in room freshener to mask the stench. Check in was easy and we were lucky enough to receive an early check in. The restaurant and bar are the highlight of this hotel. I'd come back just for the bar but would not stay in the rooms again. Also, upon checking out I unfortunately left an expensive wrist watch on the bathroom counter. Of course I called the hotel and as expected "The watch was not found". I know exactly where it was left and there is no other explanation besides it being stolen by housekeeping. Very disappointing.

The location is at the heart of Coconut Grove. The front-end staff was excellent. The central atrium is striking and we got upgraded to a suite. But from there, things slide. The room at first glance was dramatically romantic. But… It was so dark I needed a flashlight to see the contents of my purse; during the day, with all the lights on. The bedside lights were switched together, on the wall, not reachable from the bed. BELIEVE the noise reviews! It was unbelievably noisy from within and outside, to the extent that I have never experienced. The TV was hard to hear over the pounding DJ music in the atrium. We could have participated in our neighbors’ normal conversation thru the wall. All of the noise bounces around and reverberates throughout. The door security lever thing was improperly installed and didn’t work. Housekeeping: the main area rug was stained and not vacuumed at checkin. It was not EVER vacuumed during our 6 day stay. Towels were doled out judiciously, which was a problem when our accessible shower flooded the room. (The shower curtain was not waterproof, did not fit properly and had no rings; it was threaded directly onto the rod through the ring slits - making it laborious to open and close.). The shower rod was a tension rod that kept falling down. Facecloths are not standard issue and extremely hard to come by, despite requests. There was no mattress covering on the bed other than the sheet, which was not fitted and did not stay in place. Yuk! There was no magnified makeup mirror. In short, if you’re looking for an upscale dorm party experience, you’ll love it! Our 20-something kids would give a different review. And maybe if we had paid under $600/pm I’d be more forgiving. Otherwise, keep looking. For the same amount of $$$$ you could stay at any number of actual luxury accommodations.

We stayed at the Mayfair Hotel throughout our wedding weekend in the honeymoon suite, and had an incredible experience. From the moment we drove up to the door, the staff, especially Jason and David, were so helpful. They knew exactly how to hang up the wedding dress on the luggage cart to keep it from wrinkling, and helped us check into our room early so we could settle in before setting off for a busy day.

The hotel remodel was beautiful, and we loved sitting in the courtyard to drink our morning coffee before we started the day. The hotels walkability within the greater Coconut Grove area makes this hotel ideal for any guests looking for a comfortable, higher-end yet reasonably priced stay. The room was a delight as well, with fun decor, a free-standing bathtub in the bedroom, and a fun piano in the comfortable living room space. We also had a blast hanging at the rooftop pool. We couldn’t have asked for a better and more carefree experience for our wedding weekend!
