The pillows on the bed are terrible, zero support. The hotel nickels and dimes for EVERYTHING. Breakfast is not included and is expensive. They charge $29/day to park and a $35/day resort fee (for WHAT?). If you want to sit on the beach, that'll cost you $91/day for 2 chairs and an umbrella. $30 for two frozen drinks at the tiki bar. This is all ON TOP of the $600/night I'm paying to stay. Please consider including some amenities and stop nickel and diming your guests. I could have gone to an all inclusive resort on an island two times over for the amount we spent for 5 days at the Hilton Clearwater.
Pool was so crowded and not enjoyable as a result. Breakfast was a fight between us and the birds. In addition, we had personal incident and I'm appalled at how they handle it. From August until now, I still haven't heard from management even though I was told I'd be contacted within 24-48 business hours.
They are located on a beautiful stretch of beach which is about the only good thing I can say about this property.
I'm a Hilton Honors Platinum member. I enjoy traveling to many different Hilton resorts and this one has got to be in my bottom two.
The front desk staff was generally disinterested, failing to provide the warm and welcoming service expected from a four star hotel.
A major point of contention was the undisclosed $35 resort fee, which was not clearly communicated during the booking process. This lack of transparency was disappointing and significantly impacted the overall value of my stay.
On Thursday night, a concerning incident occurred where a guest posed as security, banging on doors on the 4th floor late at night. This breach of security is alarming and raises serious safety concerns for guests.
While the bartender at the pool was kind and attentive, the state of her equipment was subpar, indicating a lack of investment in the property and its staff by the ownership. This neglect was disappointing to see in a reputable hotel chain like Hilton.
Additionally, it was noted that the hotel seems to prioritize spring break activities over catering to the needs of business travelers, which, in my opinion, is a short-sighted business strategy.
Moreover, I was surprised to learn that the hotel's checkout time is 12pm, which falls below the standard for a 4-star hotel. This early checkout time was inconvenient and detracted from the overall experience.
In hindsight, had I been aware of the true cost, including the resort fee, I would have opted to stay at the Hyatt instead. The overall experience at the Hilton Clearwater Beach felt more akin to a Motel 6 standard at Hilton prices, which was disappointing.
Corporate knows they can gouge guests based on location and their private beach and pool, which were good amenities.
But in general, my stay at the Hilton Clearwater Beach was marred by several shortcomings.
