Unfortunately trying to get the 500 USD security deposit back is IMPOSSIBLE. It was taken on 21st January and I checked out on 4th February.
Three weeks later still no refund of the deposit despite two emails which have been ignored.
Dispute unfortunately opened with Amex
I’ve had over 15 villas in Florida and never waited more than a few days for a deposit release or have at least had the courtesy of a response.
Bad business
We checked out a week ago, I have requested a refund from the owners - the office staff keeps telling me they have let the "managers" know, but they cannot do anything without their authorization and they have not heard back from their managers. It seems to me that a week after checkout is more than enough time for the managers to respond.
We will definitely be back and renting again from Horizon Vacation Homes.
The team never responded to numerous complaints. Emails, text messages, app message center and phone calls with voicemails.
They also charged me for the security deposit instead of freezing it like any other hotel would. Took over two weeks to get reimbursed, after leaving numerous voicemails. I have still to this day never received a response.
Turns out getting a hotel at the Hilton was cheaper and much better. Their security deposit was also a fraction of the price and instantly refunded upon check out.
Would not recommend to anyone. Awful customer service and non sanitary dwellings.
