Brilliant home and stay.
Unfortunately trying to get the 500 USD security deposit back is IMPOSSIBLE. It was taken on 21st January and I checked out on 4th February.
Three weeks later still no refund of the deposit despite two emails which have been ignored.
Dispute unfortunately opened with Amex
I’ve had over 15 villas in Florida and never waited more than a few days for a deposit release or have at least had the courtesy of a response.
Bad business

This property is beautiful. It far exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect!

As a property owner, you should avoid this management company at all costs. Terrible at marketing, failed to rent my condo which had a 85% occupancy rating even once in 6 months. New company has rented it 6 times in the month since they took over. Horizon refuses to refund my deposit and won’t return my calls or emails. Very unprofessional operation. Do not recommend doing business with this scam of a company.

Be Aware! We booked a condo in VA through VRBO that is owned by Horizon Vacation Homes. A week or so before we arrived, the owner of the property "forced" me to use a link outside of the VRBO platform to pay the balance that was owed on the unit. If I had not done that, we would have lost a place to stay as well as 50% of the total. I made the payment after several calls trying to figure out another way and then they double charged me. Several more calls and a week later, I got a refund for the double charge. We arrive at the unit around 8:00pm - the unit is less than expected. Doorknobs barely hanging on the bathroom doors, old milk in the refrigerator, nasty coffee pot, bug carcasses in middle of floor, less than clean tub with mildew in the caulk, shower curtain rod kept falling down, laundry left in the dryer and very uncomfortable beds that had no box springs and very thin mattresses. We get up to take showers the next morning and there is no hot water. We check the water heater and it has no power - call Horizon - they assure us they will send someone out. A few hours later we call VRBO, they tell us they will call owners and ask us to give them 5 hours. We get back to the condo around 8 pm, no hot water (and it was in the low 50's at night - the water was very cold!) - no one had been in unit to check it. Again, I call VRBO and they say they will contact the owners again - the owner says they will resolve the issue. Many, many calls to owner and VRBO - lots of promises from the Horizon office that they were working on getting someone to come look at the water heater - no one ever came. Horizon never followed up with us on their own either - all info from them was from me initiating the calls even though they would tell me every time I called that they would get back with me by the end of the day.

We checked out a week ago, I have requested a refund from the owners - the office staff keeps telling me they have let the "managers" know, but they cannot do anything without their authorization and they have not heard back from their managers. It seems to me that a week after checkout is more than enough time for the managers to respond.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Horizon Vacation Homes rental property, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best vacation experiences I've ever had. The property was immaculately clean and well-maintained. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful stay.

My family and I had such an incredible experience with Horizon. Not only was the home everything we wanted and needed (clean, comfortable, and located right next to Disney and so many restaurants) but it was the customer service that put it over the top. Highly recommend to anyone to use Horizon to book a short-term rental home.

Wow! That's all I can say! We had a great stay in the Kissimmee area with this company. Any time I called with a question they were happy to help and easy to work with, Nubia took my calls on 2 occasions and was so sweet! The house was VERY clean and spacious. Also had everything we needed for a family of 8. I will be booking again for our next summer trip in 2024. Highly recommend Horizon! Great quality, amazing customer service!

Highly professionally managed company. Stayed at one of their properties for a couple of days and felt very much at home. Professional staff that is always willing to help and go beyond. I would definitely recommend staying at one of their rentals.

Loved staying at their rental house. The team was very responsive and the rental was super clean and centrally located (theme parks for us). Recommend staying here!

We can highly recommend Horizon Vacation Homes. We booked a home for visiting family and it was spotlessly clean when they arrived and exactly as depicted in the online photos. Everything in the home was in good working order and the checkin and checkout was very easy. The owners were very helpful in quickly responding to all requests. I will definitely use this company again when looking for properties close to Disney.

Cockroaches. Yes, the home they rented us was infested with cockroaches.

The team never responded to numerous complaints. Emails, text messages, app message center and phone calls with voicemails.

They also charged me for the security deposit instead of freezing it like any other hotel would. Took over two weeks to get reimbursed, after leaving numerous voicemails. I have still to this day never received a response.

Turns out getting a hotel at the Hilton was cheaper and much better. Their security deposit was also a fraction of the price and instantly refunded upon check out.

Would not recommend to anyone. Awful customer service and non sanitary dwellings.

I have been working with Horizon for over 4 years. They are always very transparent, setting clear expectations with our clients! I appreciate how Yann and his team are always trying to work the market and provide the best possible outcomes for our clients. Thank you for being so passionate at helping clients manage their properties!

Terrible. The house in Calabay Parc was so filthy that we could not stay even 1 night. Hosts were very rude. Dirty linens, food left on the floor and walls, food on the beds and bed frames. Dirty bathrooms. We went to their "office" which was nothing more than a residential house and no one was there to help us in person. We had to file a police report and were able to get some money back from our credit card company, but not from these incredibly rude hosts. Please, stay away from these people. If you have a problem they will not care and will take zero accountability. I was very disheartened to see this company is still on airbnb and vrbo after how they treated us in Jan 2020. I just hope to warn others and hopefully save someone the aggravation we had to deal with. We have rented from several more honest and kind hosts since then. Please, keep looking.

Excellent rental property. Very clean, convenient location, well maintained and great communication with Horizon. We will book another property with them again.

We rented a townhouse from Horizon for 10 days. Happened to be scheduled to start September 30 and Hurricane Ian tore through Florida on the 28th and 29th. Lots of uncertainty as to airlines, theme parks, and housing. Two families going together staying in the same gated community. Horizon wouldn't let us reschedule. Took the money and ran. Airline, car rental, Disney, and the rental company our other family members used were all understanding and happily assisted to reschedule. The purpose of the trip was a family vacation. Unfortunately we chose the wrong rental and were left to choose between our family vacation and losing our money.

The house had roaches! I asked for a refund right away. They only offered to send pest control which barely helped. They had to have known the house was infected because we saw roach bait traps in the kitchen drawers.
