The spa staff were able to accommodate our party of 7 with very little advance notice. The spa was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The lounge was comfortable and well appointed.
And now about the woman who did my facial, Patty. She was so kind and attentive. She was knowledgeable and answered my questions without being “chatty” her touch was sure and intentional, which can only come from the combination of personal talent with years of experience. I HIGHLY recommend her. I FORGOT TO ADD THAT THEY ARE VERY FAT FRIENDLY!!
I am nuerotic and always book our rooms initially over the phone with an on-site reservation specialist, and I explained that I needed two suites that connected due to small children; we needed a kitchenette and four beds, but I was not interested in the sleeper sofa. I wanted the main floor, but they stated there were no multi-room suits on the main level, which I feel was a significant design flaw. However, they confirmed with me that this was available on the second floor, which is what we booked four nights totaling approx 13k. I expressed my concerns and asked if they could please send me the floor plan to show me the detail of how the rooms connected. I received the email with an image of the rooms adjoining. I had several emails back and forth with reservations and concierge regarding our stay. When we checked in, the reservation attendant stated that we did not have adjoining rooms and that we had no other options other than to be separated by a floor and several rooms away or to have a downgraded room on the same floor but further down the hall. This was a massive inconvenience, considering the kitchen was in the king suite, and the two-bedroom suite for the kids didn't have a kitchenette. The children were a floor away from us, which could've been avoided if they had planned accordingly for this. Worse, the front desk attendant promised to work on the issue that evening. We offered a $500 gift to the family they gave our room to for the hassle of switching. She said that she would continue working on it the next day after the guests had departed, and despite the inconvenience, we were willing to make the move with our three children. However, the front desk attendant never had the decency to call me during our stay. We were not contacted whatsoever. Another issue was the housekeeping; the following day, we were gone all day to return to our room at 5 pm, which was still dirty. When we left for dinner that evening, I was told I needed to call them back to schedule the cleaning. I would expect this poor planning and mediocre service from a resort that wasn't so expensively priced or labeled as a "luxury" with 5-star pricing. I hope this helps other like minded families.
There was a little situation that happened last night, however AJ was so incredibly sweet and made my mom and I feel so incredibly special.
Thank you so much AJ! And thank you so much to the Isla Bella staff for such an incredible and memorable vacation.
The conditions of the rooms were good but not great for the price. Some trash left in room upon checkin but minor and thus good condition overall.
Views and pools were top notch. Very clean pools and highly recommend the sushi bar.
Service at the non main pools could be better as the bar cart doesn’t really go into the pools to ask patrons for drink orders.
Putting green is more of a dog park but you’re here for the beach, pools and relaxation anyways!
The service at the restaurant was uncaring and we had to beg for service. Especially the breakfast the last day we were there. our The front desk constantly trying to sell us other services by text, which was annoying while we were trying to relax, but when we texted them when we got locked out twice, or trying to request a place to sit in our room, no response to our texts for help. Text communication: It was a one way texting spam machine, all for their benefit, not ours. Thinking back, I should have blocked them. The phone in the room was not working. So I had to call in on the general line and was put on hold each time. All in all, I counted 7 hours of my vacation time trying to get a chair, and waiting to be let back in my room after they locked me out. Save your money and stay at the Islander in Marathon where they care, answer texts, don’t lock you out, have working phones, and you can set your temperature where you want it.
