My family, including my wife, 12-year-old daughter, and I, embarked on an incredible safari to Tanzania last November with Benson Safaris, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. Our journey took us through the breathtaking landscapes of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Crater, and our base at Migombani Campsite, overlooking Lake Manyara, provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable adventure.

Our guide, a seasoned and safe driver, skillfully navigated the diverse terrains, ensuring our safety while enhancing our wildlife encounters. The camping equipment provided was top-notch, and the full-board arrangement, sometimes as a packed meal for early morning park visits, showcased their commitment to making our experience seamless.

Communication with the team was effortless, and they accommodated our food and beverage preferences with enthusiasm. A notable highlight was the in-vehicle fridge that magically produced ice-cold drinks mid-drive—a welcome touch of luxury in the heart of the wilderness.

I highly recommend the extra expense to go on a night drive, which is a unique experience. We opted for a night drive in Lake Manyara, and the rewards were beyond our imagination. The nocturnal activities and the chance to witness the park's transformation under the moonlight added a layer of magic to our safari.

Amid rising costs, Benson Safaris' camping accommodation option emerged as a practical and comfortable choice for our small family. The well-organized setup by the dedicated staff allowed us to immerse ourselves in the adventure, and sleeping in tents added an extra element of excitement to our journey.

This safari adventure was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Our guide, Liberatus Kessy, who hails from Benson, is not only extremely professional but also boasts over a decade of safari experience. He tirelessly sought out wild animals for us, proving to be the best guide I've ever encountered. His expertise and dedication were evident as we had numerous sightings of lions, as well as the elusive "big five."
As a photographer,I am very eager to take satisfying photos, Liberatus consistently sought out the best angles for me, enabling me to capture many stunning photographs during this tour. The highlights were undoubtedly the breathtaking scenes in Ngorongoro and Ndutu, where the landscapes and wildlife provided a spectacular backdrop for my photography.
I am already looking forward to my next adventure with Benson Safaris and hope to return next year for another incredible experience.

We were really surprised to see a negative review recently. We had a 17 day Safari with 7 transfers and everything went like clockwork. We had no problems with transfers, park entry or accommodation. We chose a medium accommodation package and were delighted with the quality of accommodation but were even more thrilled by the welcome of all the staff we met along the way. We had a mix of Safari camps and hotels and enjoyed the settings, food and hospitality of all of them. We spent time communicating with Yvlyn who couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable in putting together our itinerary. It felt a bit more risky booking directly with a Tanzanian company (though an annual insurance policy should cover any problems) but both her and Benson’s professionalism was reassuring, and in doing it this way all the money went into the Tanzanian economy not a UK travel agent. Our trip was amazing, the warm welcome we had from our guide Zablon at Arusha airport was lovely after a long flight. Zablon helped us make the most of each destination, his driving was exceptional and his insights into Tanzania brought the holiday to life. We began with relaxing at Tumbili lodge which was an excellent oasis in Arusha. We began our safari adventure in Tarangire staying at Tortillis camp, then onto the unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater an absolute gem of a place with wildlife galore. From there to the Serengeti and GNU Migration camp where we were the only guests and treated like great friends, even by the local zebra and giraffe population. From the Serengeti on to Lake Natron to see the pink flamingos and trek with a Massai guide, finally ending with a few days of luxury at Lake Manyara best view hotel and a visit to Lake Manyara national park. All in all we could not fault Benson and his staff, we had a truly magical holiday.

We had a wonderful safari trip! Although we made our enquiry at extremely short notice, everything went very smoothly. We were picked up at the airport, driven to the hotel and spent the next three days enjoying the Tarangire NP, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Manyara NP. We saw lots of animals. Everything was well organised, we stayed in great tented camps and the lunch boxes were delicious. And above all, our driver Liberatus was a very careful driver and took us safely back to the airport. All in all, a great experience. We can highly recommend Benson Safari!

We had a trip of a lifetime with our guide Zablon from Benson Safaris Tanzania! Our itinerary introduced us not only to the animals of Tanzania, but also to its varied landscapes and its people. Zablon used his network and his experience to get us up close to many elephants, lions (lots!), cheetahs, and incredibly a hippo grazing out of the water. We also glimpsed in the distance a rhino. We were amazed how many animals we saw and how close we were able to be with them. The sightings were beyond our expectations! Zablon also shared his knowledge and experience with us as we drove through the different National Parks. We enjoyed the time we spent with three different tribes from Tanzania: Maasai, Hadzabe Bush People, and the Datoga Tribe. As well, the selections for our accommodations during our safari were very luxurious, often jaw-dropping, with friendly, helpful people. The food was plentiful, varied, and delicious. Thank you Zablon and Benson Safaris, we had a fabulous time on safari with you!

On this trip with BENSON SAFARI we have no doubt we where on best vehicle and the best guide. No other in Ngorongoro was better. We had one of the amazing days of our lifes. We had booked a safari with Benson Safaris. What a wonderful safari we had. Thanks to Benson and our guide Peter. Peter knows a lot of all the plants and animals in de national parks we visited: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorogoro crater. Peter is a safe driver and is very focused on the wishes of the costumer. The arrangements and hotels were wonderful, Patricia did a great job too. Our trips during the day well organized and a day after the last trip we already missed Peter. Even when we decided to changed an hotel during the trip, they helped us to have it done.
We had wine provided by peter because he heard my wife doesn't drink beer and he always had a surprise (an animal to be photographed) during the safari. We were really surprised with the safari, one of the best experiences in our life.

Wir haben eine Eintages-Safari zum Tarangiere-Nationalpark mit Benson Safari gemacht. Es war überweltigent. Am Abend vor dem Trip kam der Guide und erklärte uns vieles für den Nationalpark (z.B. die Verhaltensregeln im Park usw.) Das Auto war sehr gut ausgerüstet, so gab es einen Kühlschrank mit Kaltgetränken, WLAN, Ferngläser und Steckdosen für USB. Wir bekamen auch Lunchpakete mit, welche lecker waren. Unser Guide sprach deutsch, was vieles einfacher machte. Er war auch sehr sympathisch, wie habe sehr viel gelacht und uns unterhalten. Im Park wurde uns viel gezeigt und man hatte durch das geöffnete Dach ausgiebig Zeit, Fotos zu machen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Benson is a Tanzanian local who started his own company many years ago he now employs a number of hand-picked safari guides and booking personnel. He is great with his staff and clients alike and really prides himself in arranging top-quality safaris where nothing should be left to chance. Hygiene standards are top-notch, the coffee is great and everything is really super well organised. He may not be the cheapest but that is becasue the cars are well maintained and won't break down, the food is high quality, the guides are experienced, the staff is well trained, etc. etc. so it is really worth it. Book directly with them and avoid a lot of unnecesarry surcharges.

We’ve had the most amazing safari experience with Benson Safaris. The owner took care of every detail and made sure everything went smoothly both before the trip, with good communication, as well as during the trip, with the most comfortable car, hotels, lunches etc and surprises here and there :)

We can’t thank enough Peter, our guide and driver, who took such good care of us. He’s the most kind, knowledgeable and patient companion you could have on a safari. Hakuna Matata all the way! Not to mention his eagle eye. It was hard to say goodbye at the end of the trip.
