Overview:
Nyerere National Park (Formerly Selous GR) is the largest National Park in Tanzania which covers the total area of 30,893 km2. The park was established in 1922 as a game reserve known as the Selous; before being gazette as a National Park in 2019. The park was named in honor of the first President of Tanzania Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. The original name recognizes Frederick Selous, a British hunter who was killed by German soldier in 1917 during the First World War.
Day 1:
Dar es Salaam to Nyerere (Selous)
National Park Morning at 08:00h depart for Nyerere (Selous) NP. The journey to Nyerere NP will take about 4 to 4 and half hours. Arrive for lunch at the lodge. After lunch you will have a nap then you will go out for afternoon boat safari along the mighty Great Rufiji River which starts from 16:00hrs until sunset. Boat safari brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile and fantastic bird life. Animals make their way to the river to drink and boat may approach some animals on the river banks to within a few meters. Crocodile glide into the water as your boat approaches and hippo appear in frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam.
Dinner and overnight: Mloka Safari Lodge or Africa Safari Camp or Kinga Lodge. (Outside the Park)

Day 02:
Game Drive in Nyerere (Selous) National Park
Leave the lodge after early breakfast for full day game drive with packed lunch in Nyerere NP until sunset.
Exploration of the Park by 4wd vehicle; will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park. Nyerere NP is the largest National Park in Tanzania, covering the area of 30,893square kilometers. Nyerere NP is famous for its Elephants, commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffalo, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebra, wildebeest and greater kudu.
Dinner and overnight: Mloka Safari Lodge or Africa Safari Camp or Kinga Lodge. (Outside the Park)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3:
Walking Safari then drive to Dar es Salaam.
Wakeup early in the morning and have a cup of coffee or tea, then go out for wilderness walking safari with guidance of an armed ranger which will take two to two and a half hours. Walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for African wild. You will get the chance to touch the nature, see the different foot print and droppings of different wild animals and small creatures that you can’t see them during the game drive. After walking safari, you will go back to the camp/ lodge for breakfast then pack your stuff and start drive back to Dar es Salaam with lunch pack.
On arrival your driver will drop you off at place of your choice.
