Cet hôtel est une véritable arnaque, si vous n’appréciez pas la compagnie des punaises de lit passez votre chemin.

After reading some of the reviews I was really worried about what I was going to. I am pleased to say I need not have worried. The hotel is a little tired but it was clean, warm and cosy. There was no sign of any bugs as previously suggested, the bed was comfy and the canal views lovely.
The location was great, far enough away from the main busy areas so not to noisy but only a short walk to get to all the main sights
The staff were lovely and helpful and we would definitely stay again

Waren sogar mit 2 kleinen Hunden dort. Super schnuckeliges hotel mit Aufzug.
Nur parken ist sehr teuer dadurch das es mitten im Zentrum liegt.

The other reviews are correct. There are bed bugs here (30th December 2023 we found 2, showed the owner and left). I called in advance to check, was told it was fixed, and I was staying in’ the annex’ which did not have this problem.
But there are definitely bed bugs here. The owner is totally without empathy and in denial. There is also a smell of faeces on the staircase, I suspect caused by vomit that has not been cleaned out, instead 3 wall plug air fresheners. This hotel and its attitude are toxic.
So far the owner has refunded only the 3 nights I didn’t stay there, not the first night, despite my sleeping in a bed with bed bugs, losing a grand booking a replacement last minute replacement NYE hotel, and the day being lost washing everything I own, binning anything that couldn’t be tumble dried, and the evening moving hotels. It’s dishonest in every way.

Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage. Man ist schnell im Zentrum, die Straßenbahn ist nicht weit entfernt und ein paar Lokale sind auch ums Eck.
Doch was wirklich eine Frechheit ist, sind die Zimmer. Es scheint das in dem überteuerten Preis die Miete der Bettwanzen miteinbeziehen. Der Staub unter dem Bett und im Bad hat seine eigene Dynamik. Die Insektenfalle ist so alt, dass selbst in einem Museum Platz dafür ist. Da stellt man sich schon die Frage, ob man der erste nach Jahren ist, der unter das Bett schaut.
Auch nach mehren Reklamationen (vorlegen einer toten Bettwanze) und einer angeblichen kompletten Reinigung des Zimmers hat sich nicht viel getan. Der Staub ist geblieben, die Wanzen hatten uns als Gäste und das Band war immer noch Schauplatz zwischen Staub und schwarzen Stellen.
Als Manager würde ich einmal prüfen wie sauber die Zimmer gehalten werden und alle Matratzen tauschen. Das sollte doch bei den Preisen drinnen sein. Nicht?

No ir a este sitio. Es asqueroso. Hay pulgas y chinches. He abierto Reclamacion por daños y perjuicios pues la habitación era de asco. Sucio. Sábanas llenas de chinches. Tengo 20 picaduras. No hemos dormido ninguna noche bien. No pudimos ir a día excursiones por el cansancio de no dormir. Este hotel en España estaría cerrado. Es lamentable que estafen así y las vacaciones se nos haya fastidiado

An honest review on our stay here. Many of the reviews we saw on this place was bed bugs, me and my partner tried to swap to another hotel but it would’ve cost 400 euros to do that so we though we’d just chance it. We arrived at around 5/6pm to the hotel and the owner checked us in, he seemed very friendly. We did ask if could have an upgrade as it was our anniversary but they was fully booked which is fine. We got room 25 on the second floor, think it’s one of the smallest rooms we’ve stayed in lol, it was tiny. The hotel is very dated but we quite liked the aesthetic of it. However saying this our room wasn’t the cleanest, it was very dusty, there was dead bugs on the floor, the windows were just wooden and quite thin so it let in rain water when it was shut, saying this though the room get really warm at night. The bathroom was okay there was black spots over the walls, same in the bedroom not sure if it was mould or just dirt but the whole room needed some TLC. Once we got in the room we immediately searched for bed bugs and anything that resembled them, thankfully we couldn’t find any but we was still a bit nervous when we slept, the bed was actually really comfy. Going back to the hotel being dated, at night you could hear everything, people walking, talking, there was a room above us where they was constantly coming in late and it kept us up a lot, you could hear them do everything like open their door, put plugs in the wall, talk. If you’re a light sleeper wouldn’t recommend this place. We didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment on that but the lounge where they served breakfast seemed really nice and matched the hotel. The location is brilliant you’re about a 20 minute walk from the train station, you can pretty much walk anywhere in Amsterdam. Anne Franks house was about 25 minute walk, red light district about 15 minute walk. If you want cheaper food/drinks I’d recommend walking out of the area a little bit as it was quite pricy. Our favourite pub was called “The three sisters” which was about a 2 minute walk and was good with English serving food and wasn’t too expensive. Overall I probably wouldn’t come back to the the hotel we’d rather pay the extra to go somewhere a bit cleaner; we didn’t really feel safe leaving our bags there. But if you want cheap/location then this is perfect. Just read the reviews before you stay on the bed bug situation.

The hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam. We stayed there at the end of summer for two nights, me and my two toddlers. The view from the window was breathtaking. The check-in and check-out processes went smoothly. The hotel staff helped us with our belongings, and my children quickly made friends with them; the staff was very friendly and sociable. The room was perfect, even with two children sharing one bed. Everything was clean, neat, and cozy. It's evident that the owners take great care of their hotel with love, and the quality of the bedding and bathroom amenities pleasantly surprised us. The receptionist was very kind and provided us with a lot of information. I highly recommend this hotel!

I stay there a few times per year, during my business trips. Breakfasts are to die for, always a great atmosphere and you can't beat that price for this location. Thank you guys for making my visits worry-free.

His response to each review is a clear copy and paste reply. Also stating the name and the booking number of the guest is so illegal.
This hotel should be looked into by the government.
Not up to basic human standards.
The bed bug infestation has taken over the building with no sign of any relief.
Health and safety standards agencies should step in to deal with this terrible establishment.
I cannot understand why you would book this hovel. Staff are awful and should be ashamed.
They know about the bed bugs but don't do anything. Still rent out rooms knowing they are plagued with disgusting animals.
There is nothing good about this hotel. I hope this and all the other truthful reviews cost you a lot of money.

Kann die teilweise schlechten Erfahrungen überhaupt nicht teilen. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, direkt am Wasser und trotzdem in einer ruhigen Gegend. Ja, es ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber es gibt Smart TV, ein sehr bequemes und sauberes Bett und eine wunderschöne Aussicht. Bad und WC fand ich ebenfalls in Ordnung. Der Service war stets nett und bemüht und das Frühstück war ebenfalls toll. Für diesen Preis, in dieser Lage soll mir mal jemand ein besseres Hotel in Amsterdam zeigen????.

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, at walking distance from everything a tourist might wish to visit. Hotel is located in the historical building with views to Canals of Amsterdam. The breakfast is outstanding for a three star hotel. The staff was very attentive to any questions and needs. I do highly recommend it taking into consideration price and quality.

House hôtel Amsterdam : Cher et personnel pas agréable du tout
Chambres juste correctes. Salle de bain humide. Le personnel ne fait aucun effort pour tenter de parler anglais. Un ressenti omniprésent pour moi qui suis français. Ai même failli me faire agresser par un homme dans le petit accueil sans que le personnel ne réagisse. Bref, avec les photos, et compte tenu du prix élevé (plus 9,9€ par petit déjeuner), je me demande pourquoi cet hôtel est bien noté par vos services et d’autres sites de notation. Scandaleux. N’a pas le niveau ni l’accueuil pour 175€ la nuit. Hôtel très bruyant sans aucune isolation (boules quies fournies ????)

Séjour d'une nuit à Noël 2014. Un house boat génial, un peu cher mais d'une originalité folle. A refaire en amoureux.
