As a 20-year-old girl, I booked an accommodation for myself for 12 nights. Since the hostel has no age limit and no separate rooms for men and women, I had to share a room with men aged 60 or older. On the fifth night, an elderly man in his late 50s requested a bed exchange, and during the night, he approached me inappropriately. I went downstairs but the reception wasn’t open (around half past 7AM). The man left the hostel before it was open. When I reported it to the reception later, they told me about an emergency number they should’ve told me the night I checked in. I wish there was a person at the reception 24/7 in case of emergency, not an emergency number we know nothing about. I wrote to the manager of the establishment but in the response he was blaming me for not contacting anyone the night it happened and for not telling about the first signs (inviting us for coffee and a pizza). I am not satisfied with the way they handled my situation, which should have been taken seriously and how they didn’t do any changes to prevent the next young girls from an SA.

20 éves lányként ide foglaltam szállást magamnak 12 éjszakára. Mivel a hostelben nincsen korhatár, nincsen szeparált szoba férfiaknak és nőknek, az is előfordul, hogy 60+-os férfiakat 19/20 éves lányokkal egy szobába osztanak. Ez történt velem is. Az ötödik éjszakámat töltöttem a hostelben, amikor egy idős (minimum az 50-es évei végén járó) férfi kért ágycserét, hogy a mellettem fél méterre sem lévő ágyon aludhasson. Aznap éjjel fokozatosan közelebb tolta az ágyát az enyémhez, és hajnalra a kezét találtam az ágyamban a fenekemnél. A harmadik próbálkozásával már hozzám is ért, és én egyből felkeltem az ágyból, hogy kimenjek a szobából. A recepció zárva volt (reggel fél hétkor), nem tudtam tőlük segítséget kérni. Az előtt elhagyta a hostelt (reggel 8), hogy a recepció kinyitott volna (ami délelőtt 10-kor történt). Én utólag elmondtam a recepción, és elkértem a hostel vezetőjének elérhetőségét, hogy tudjak visszajelzést adni, mi történt, és ötleteket a továbbiakra, hogy mivel lehet ezt megelőzni. Akkor szereztem tudomást egy ún. emergency number-ről, amit éjjel nappal hívhatok, de semmi mást nem tudok róla. A válasz levélben én lettem hibáztatva amiatt, mert nem használtam az említett telefonszámot. Nem vagyok megelégedve azzal, ahogy a helyzetet kezelték és azzal, hogy semmilyen változást nem vezettek be azért, hogy megelőzzék a következő fiatal lány zaklatását.

⚠️ Dangerous hostel for young women travelling!!! No age limit and only mixed dorms where sexual assaults happen. As a 19 year old girl I was in a bedroom with 50 years old and + men. The reception is closed during the night. In case of emergency, there is only a phone number we barely know anything about and no real human-being to go to. Once the SA case was reported, our claims were heard but the victim was blamed. A really archaic and wrong system. Definitely not safe and many crucial changes are NEEDED.

⚠️ Auberge de jeunesse qui porte très mal son nom !!! Établissement sans limite d’âge avec uniquement des dortoirs mixtes où les jeunes filles se retrouvent dans la même chambre que des hommes de 50 ans et plus. Une agression sexuelle est survenue et l’auberge affirme entendre nos revendications pour plus de sécurité mais blâme la victime sans reconnaître que le problème vient avant tout de son système archaïque. En cas d’urgence, il y a seulement un numéro de téléphone. La réception étant fermée toute la nuit, il n’y a aucune personne de confiance vers qui se tourner. Une auberge dangereuse et arriérée à éviter à tout prix !!!

Comodo Ostello, posizionato proprio di fianco alla stazione.
Le camere sono pulite ed ampie, di solito con bagno in camera, e c’è disponibilità anche di camere private.
Vi ho alloggiato con “gestori” diversi e nel tempo le criticità sono cambiate.
Al momento delusa dal fatto che non vi sia stata attenzione nei nostri confronti, quando sarebbe bastato davvero poco: nonostante abbia segnalato, più e più volte, con largo anticipo, che eravamo tutti vegani, non hanno provveduto a farci trovare nulla, se non quanto “già previsto” perché facente parte della dotazione base: latte di soia, pane e marmellata.
Mentre ovviamente per gli altri c’è una certa offerta, che propone anche torte e prodotti salati.
Inoltre,
- qualche difficoltà con gli orari di apertura della reception;
- scarsa disponibilità di chiavi elettroniche per la stanza (eravamo in più persone, con programmi diversi, ma abbiamo potuto avere solo 2 tessere magnetiche)
- materasso che tende a scivolare dalla base ????, quindi attenzione.
Continuo comunque a consigliarlo come punto di appoggio per la città.

Ostello molto caratteristico del luogo, grande organizzazione dello staff, ottima la cucina, i topi alla griglia molto buoni
