Nous y étions fin mai 2023! C’était genial, nous avons adoré! Déjà grâce à l’équipement, nous n’avons pas eu froid! Ensuite, nous avons eu la chance inouïe de voir 2 baleines…et surtout le respect de l’animal! Nous ne sommes pas restés longtemps afin d’éviter de les embêter, et surtout le bateau ne les approchait pas! Super respect, bravo!!
La guide était super!

I loved every second of it.
We were in November so it was really windy and strong waves. But what an experience.
Unfortunately we didnt see any whales but we will come back:) super nice ship workers.
Good instructions. We got suits and a huge raincoat for the ride.
But definitely wear multiple layers!

The best Whale watch I have ever been on!
Booked at short notice whilst in Iceland as original tour we had booked cancelled. Delighted to find that Gentle Giants have a reputation amongst other Icelandic tour operators as being ... 'simply the best Whale watch tour in Iceland' ... period!
They were brilliant!
Wonderful tour guide and skipper, saw many Humpbacks and a Minky. Booking onto a rib boat easily worth the extra money over a slower larger boat ... the skipper got us out quickly (whoop!) and then moved us around ... fast (whoop! again)
Simple to find, easy to get kitted up and get onboard and ... what amazing backdrop scenery!!!

I did a whale watching tour in August 2023 with Gentle Giants. It was very fun and we saw three different types of whales. However, when we went a large group of tourists booked the same trip. We (3 people) lined up for the boat before the trip, and this particular group of people tried to skip the line in front of us, there were maybe 20 people in this group, maybe more. We didn't let them skip the line. The boat was full. The guide explained the safety rules for going on this tour. When the whales appeared, this group of people started to push us towards the railings and edge of the boat to the point we had to hold on to the edges of the boat. The guide was of the same nationality of this group and instead of reprimanding them for pushing people into unsafe areas, he reprimanded us by holding on to the railings as that was against the safety. I remember turning around and pointing towards the people literally pushing us and he wouldn't say anything to them. Overall the experience was nice, but I find it dangerous when people act like this group of people, and they are not told anything by the people who are in charge of everyone's safety. Just as a sidenote this group of people and the guide was European.

This is amazing experience with great company! We did it at the end of November, they finish with the tours at the end of the month for the season.
We were lucky to have only 6 other people with us that day, so it felt like private tour.
Our guide was Miro, he did fantastic job.
I have to say we got really lucky with weather, it was warm, absolutely no wind and we have seen so many whales I forgot the count!
They give you overall and heavy raincoat, so you don't have to worry about being wet. The only recommendation-wear more socks. I wore just one thick pair with winter boots and that was the only part of my body that was cold from time to time, as you just stand there doing nothing. Wear as many pairs as you can fit ????
The other tour provider (who pops first on google when you search for whale watching) had full boat of tourists and they came after us, so we always did get better view! Go with Gentle giants, you won't regret it.

El guía muy simpático y tuvimos suerte con el tiempo y las ballenas!

Ojo con las fechas en las que vayáis, informaos antes de qué se puede ver y qué no para no llevaros decepciones. Los frailecillos viene bien detallado en su web cuándo pueden verse y cuándo no, respecto a las ballenas van colgando en su web lo que ven y por las fechas te puedes orientar, además se puede encontrar en internet alguna orientación sobre en qué época del año migran a un lado y otro las diferentes especies de ballena. Por ejemplo, la ballena azul como gran atractivo (creo yo) deben de ser muy poco frecuentes y solo a principios de verano.

Einmaliges Erlebnis! wir hatten Glück eine kleine Gruppe (12 Besucher) zu sein. Man verträgt den Overall, den man vor Ort bekommt, sehr gut - wir waren über 3 Stunden bei ca 0°C und gutem Wind unterwegs. 7-8 Wale gesichtet und eine sehr symphatische Leiterin und sehr netten Kapitän gehabt, ist den Preis wert!

Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience due to weather, but I feel like they could have handled it better.
First when we booked there were no warnings. Once you book you get an email telling you the sea will be rough and offering only rearranging (not refunding). Then we turn up for the first trip the next day and they say didn’t you get the email which was sent like 10 mins before the arrival time. Only at this point do they offer refund and no apologies for the late notice. If this is how they operate they should keep in mind people may travel far to reach them and 10 mins notice is not enough. At the very least they should cover the price of a drink in the cafe nearby as an apology but nothing other than refund offered.

Pudimos avistar tres veces a las ballenas; dos de ellas a lo lejos y otra más cerca. Fue impresionante. Sin embargo, el viaje en barco debido al tiempo que hacía y el agua golpeándonos debido al oleaje hicieron la excursión menos agradable. Acabamos chorreando y con bastante frío. Mi pareja lo pasó mal con respecto a los mareos pero bueno, eso es cosa de cada uno ya que ella no sabía que se mareaba en estos "viajes".
Imaginamos que en una jornada de sol debe ser algo espectacular. Nos sentimos agradecidos de poder ver las ballenas, increíble.

Super,
Un temps magnifique ce qui nous a permis de profiter à fond de cette balade en bateau. Des dizaine de baleines vue ( sûrement plusieurs fois les mêmes)
Baleine a bosse uniquement pour nous mais vraiment magique. Le bateau est doux, il se dirige vers les baleines en coupant le moteur. Par deux fois les baleines ont frôlé le bateau ( moins de 2m de nous )
Combinaison distribue au début pour adulte et enfant. Plaids en plus pour les enfants car il fait vraiment froid en mer, surtout si on s'occupe en même temps des enfants et qu'on ne bouge pas trop mais vraiment journée magnifique

It was an amazing experience and totally worth it! The guide and the boat capitan were super nice and patient. Everyone gets overalls and a rain jacket for the boat ride but if you go during Fall you should still wear a few layers of clothes.
We were lucky enough to spot a whale!!
