Le Centre de conservation des éléphants est un sanctuaire dédié à la protection de l’animal-emblème du Laos, situé à Sayaboury, à tout juste 2 heures de Luang Prabang. Le Centre accueille une trentaine d’éléphants sur un territoire forestier de 530 hectares. Les éléphants y vivent en semi-liberté, dans un paradis naturel situé au bord du lac Nam Tien. Les visiteurs ont la possibilité de découvrir certains des projets de conservation menés par l’équipe de spécialistes passionnés.

This is a wonderful place where they do excellent work and the experience of being among the elephants is quite magical. I'd been to other ethical elephant places but this was something even better than them. There's a depth to your experience and also the sheer beauty of the place. The staff are outstanding. Thank you so much, Mr La, for your fascinating information and insights. You were a great guide.

Je n’oublierais jamais ces 3 jours hors du temps à l’ECC! Ce fût merveilleux de voir les éléphants dans leurs habitats naturels, entourées de personnes incroyables et passionnées par ce qu’ils font!! Nous avons pu nous approcher des éléphants sans jamais les déranger et tout en respectant leurs emploi du temps :))) Cela vaux chaque euros dépensés! Merci pour cette expérience fabuleuse et inoubliable!

Visiting the Elephant Conservation Centre was an incredible experience. The dedication to the welfare and preservation of these majestic animals was evident. The knowledgeable staff provided insightful information about elephant conservation efforts. The opportunity to observe these gentle giants in a respectful, natural environment was both educational and inspiring. It’s a must-visit for anyone passionate about wildlife conservation.

We found the ECC in the Lonely Planet Guide and booked our stay and will never regret the decision to stay one night. Only regret is that we never stayed another night to enjoy the calm atmosphere and the kindness of all who work at the centre.
The accommodation was basic but clean, beds confortable, electric fan in the room if needed and a good mosquito net over the bed.The food some of the best we’ve had in Laos ! The small bar serves drinks at very reasonable prices.
Our excursions into the forest to see the elephants was a wonderful experience even for two people in their late 60’s and not the fittest chickens on this planet !!???? But we did it !!!!
