Words cannot express how much the amazing experience at Nuit Blanche affected my wife and I. Not only is it a fairytale home in the best location in all of Bruges with spectacular breakfast and attentive staff but they went so far over and above our expectations. We were to renew our vows outside at an intimate location in Bruges but the weather turned terribly cold with strong rain. At the last minute (literally hours before) we asked Fleur (you will adore her) if we could use David’s art studio and not only did she oblige but she helped and attended! It was more special than we could have ever imagined and we will be forever grateful. See you next year!

Ein Märchen verschmilzt mit der Realität.

Meine Frau und ich sind Brügge verliebt. Wir hätten jedoch nie gedacht, dass es zu Brügge noch mal eine so extreme interne Steigerung gibt. Diese Unterkunft schlägt einfach alles was wir bisher in Brügge mit den uns gegebenen Sinnen erleben durften. In mancher Hinsicht könnte man fast schon von übersinnlich sprechen.

Das uralte, malerische Gebäude in dem sich die Unterkunft befindet kennt eigentlich jeder der schon einmal in Brügge war, denn es ist Teil eines der berühmtesten Fotomotive dort und ein absoluter Touristenmagnet. Das wird einem jedesmal bewusst wenn man morgens mittags oder abends aus dem traumhaft schönen Appartment aus dem Fenster auf den Gruuthuse-Palast, die Liebfrauenkirche und die berühmte Bonifaziusbrücke schaut. Aber das ist nur die eine Komponente.

Das eigentliche Highlight sind aber die unheimlich netten und zuvorkommenden Gastgeber: Der Maler David de Graef und seine Tochter, die uns wirklich herzlich empfangen und uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen hat.
Das drei Gänge Frühstück war mega fantasievoll und extrem schmackhaft - danke für diese Inspiration.

Und das Ambiente ist sowieso unschlagbar. Wann hat man schonmal die Gelegenheit im Atelier eines richtige Künstlers zu dinieren. Wir fanden es wirklich aufregend und sind so fasziniert, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen werden.

Prachtige Chambres d'hôtes op een natuurlijk prachtige locatie. Super vriendelijke kunstenaar/eigenaar die zorgde voor een hartelijke ontvangst. Een heerlijk met zorg samengesteld luxe ontbijt maakte maakte het feest compleet. Een echte aanrader voor iedereen die de geschiedenis van Brugge en "Nuit Blanche"kan waarderen.

Absolutely magical property in the best location in Bruges! I booked this property for the historical element and the other fantastic reviews regarding the host.

I found the host particularly helpful once at the property and I sent him an email a couple of months before our stay, but in the week running up to the stay I didn't get a reply to the two emails I sent which isn't good for an anxious person like me!

I knew when booking that due to the age, it was going to be a difficult place to keep clean, but they did really well and would only say that the bathroom needs replacing and the towels updating, but the water was hot and the pressure good.

The breakfasts are delicious as others have said.

I would have no hesitation in staying again, but do remember this is a 15th Century building and the floors will creak so don't expect 5* luxury and be disappointed just because the reviews are so great - they are from travelers like me who appreciate the building for what it is!

Ik begrijp niks van de overige beoordelingen. Het grote pluspunt was de locatie en het uitzicht. Leuk om eens in een middeleeuwse kamer te slapen. Ofja slapen, de matras (2 matrassen op elkaar) was zo zacht dat we beide flink doorzakte en niet echt (goed) geslapen hebben. Het ontbijt waar iedereen zo lyrisch over is, daar begrijp ik ook helemaal niks van. De eerste gang was lekker. Yoghurt met wat fruit en noten. De tweede gang was een gebakken ei met 1 champion wat tomaten en paprika en feta. Echt niet lekker. Ook al lust ik alles van dat normaal wel. Derde gang was wat gebakken banaan met wat bessen. Ook niet lekker. Ik zou dus niet meer kiezen voor een locatie waar je zelf niks te kiezen hebt in het ontbijt. Gastheer David hebben we niet gezien. Op zich geen probleem. Daarvoor waren we ook niet daar. Maar al met al hebben we flink betaald voor de locatie. De rest vond ik echt onder de maat voor dat geld. Jammer, we waren op de positieve beoordelingen af gegaan. Normaal ben ik geen fan om een beoordeling te geven zonder het op locatie aan te geven. Echter de Assistent (?) die er gedurende ons verblijf was stelde geen vragen over hoe onze overnachting of ons verblijf was geweest. Ze leek zich erg ongemakkelijk te voelen om deze taken op zich te nemen. Voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

David and his team were welcoming, attentive. The room was as expected and great for a couple like us that love the medieval touch . View was lovely and location could not of been better , everything was very close to hand . Breakfast consisted of 3 courses which were presented perfectly , here's a small and I mean small niggle , starter fruit , then eggs , lastly crêpe. All presented lovingly but if you are staying like us for five days it can become slightly repetitive.

Außergewöhnliches Ambiente, sehr herzlicher und zuvorkommend Gastgeber, liebevoll hergerichtetes Frühstück im Atelier, tolle Lage, einmaliger Blick auf die Kirche, den Kanal und den schönen Garten, tolles Mittelalterambiente.

I just left Bruges this morning and am in disbelief that the experience we had is available for the price we paid. David puts his full passion into everything he does- whether it is creating his art, hosting guests, or preparing a meal. We stayed in one of the most iconic buildings in the heart of Bruges. Very knowledgeable of the city, David was happy to provide us with recommendations on places to go and where to eat.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a small private garden right next to the canal in which to enjoy a few beers. The guest rooms shared a building with David’s art studio, which seemed simultaneously lively and peaceful.

I would be shocked to learn there is a better breakfast in the whole city. David provided a unique, plentiful, well-balanced breakfast every morning with the presentation of a gourmet chef.

If you’re looking for a conventional hotel experience, this isn’t it. But if you’re seeking accommodation as unique and interesting as Bruges, I wholeheartedly recommend staying with David at Nuit Blanche!
