Very disappointed, the restaurants says open. We went there just to see they have a private event. Drove from Calabasas to Brentwood just to see there is was a barmitzvah. They should have update the Google map and say closed.

I am so happy I came here. Great service. Great food and get the fried rice and the katsuya roll. The katsuya roll sounds weird but it’s so good.

We do love Katsuya and have been many times, but unfortunately there are always issues. When you make a reservation you shouldn't wait more than 10 minutes to be sat. When we come here, we always wait a while even with a reservation. Last time we specifically chose the dining room when making a reservation (the large space) and instead they sat us in the loud bar/lounge. We didn’t make a fuss, but this was extremely annoying because we wanted the better atmosphere.
The food is always yummy but our server this time was also rude and it really ruined the experience. I do want to note that the food quality is always very good!! This is the only thing that brings us back. I really wish the restaurant would care more about the experience as a whole because it comes out to about $100 a head.
For a cute night out, we still
like it, but we just have low expectations for how we are treated…. and to be honest there are soooo many better spots in the area, we don't go much anymore!

The sushi is delicious here. The fried rice with wagu beef is great.

The food was not great. The dinners were brought out piecemeal. The last dinner served came 14 minutes after mine.

The food is absolutely amazing. Seevice is slow and with a touch of attitude (hostesses) atmosphere is good but for most part looks like another restaurant was repurposed for it. We had the Crispy Rice Tuna, rock shrimp, rainbow rolls, crispy Brussels Sprout and few other things but these were the clear winners

Small portions, short rib (with tomahawk bone as garnish) dry and overcooked, big open space not impressive

Every time I come to LA I have to go to Katsuya for sushi! You have to start off with the spicy tuna crispy rice, they are better than any other I have had before! The corn crunch I my personal favorite, but the rock shrimp left me speechless. The watermelon mojito is the perfect cocktail pairing if you enjoy a light and refreshing drink.
10/10 would recommend you must try if you haven't already! - don’t forget the lychee martini

For locals we gush over Katsuya!!! It's as chic as you want it, as local and family as you want it, it's as sexy as you want it or you can drop in and get drinks. So glad to have it as our go-to for so many years.

I dine here frequently since my family lives nearby. The food is great but the service is consistently really poor which is incredibly disappointing.

Good food, but the place is very open and the noise invades the whole room. Instead it was designed by Philippe Starck and you can see his hand and the 90s style.

I’m sort of divided on this spot. Food and service are solid - but way overpriced for what it is… And the 5% service charge to cover their “increased operating costs” is a joke.

This is a great, fancy sushi restaurant. The ambiance is chic and the fish is delicious. They go the extra mile with a few garnishes such as caviar on salmon sashimi to bring it to that next level. The staff is pleasant, the interior is crisp, and the overall experience is clean and well done.

Loved the food, the service, the ambience. I'm not vegan and you don't have to be to enjoy the flavor and texture of the dishes!

We sit down, wait about 8 minutes with no water, a waiter comes up says they will be right with us. Another few minutes go by, a new waiter comes up and says the old one attended to a new table.
We put in our order, ask a question about the Sake, and then get ID’d. I’m 23 years old, haven’t gotten ID’d in who knows how long, but I didn’t take offense because I understand its protocol.
She takes our ID’s, is gone for 10+ minutes. Again, we still don’t have water, food, anything, and then tells us that we cannot be served tonight.
Absolutely absurd and ridiculous. Bad feeling from the start at this location and was treated like a number not like a customer. Will not come back to this location again.
