The food is amazing, with complex flavors, amazing textures, and luxurious ingredients. The wines chosen were very well thought out and went perfectly with every dish.
The service was amazing, attentive, but not smothering. I had an issue beforehand with my card that I thought would force me to cancel my meal, but they very gladly figured out a solution so I could make the meal.
The atmosphere is very California fine dining, so if you are used to the more formal style of a lot of East Coast places have the more relaxed vibes might be a bit of a shock. However, it works very well for L.A. so complaints here.
As a heads up for those not used to fine dining, it is a long dinner service, I was there about three hours as a solo diner. So if you are smart don't make plans after thinking it's going to be quick.
Overall amazing experience, with amazingly good food. I'm definitely coming back at some point.
The amount of thought and care that went into hosting guests, be it through the speed of service, level of detailing in the dessert, etc, was truly a delight.
My wife chose the swordfish for her main entree and I got the wagyu.
We also opted to try the uni egg, and were glad we did, because it was fantastic.
The only thing we weren’t the biggest fans of were the non-alcoholic drinks. I got the spice melange - I wonder if that was a reference to dune - and my wife got the drink with persimmon. We felt the drinks beared a resemblance to various allergy medications.
