Avis HOLLYWOOD HOTEL Los Angeles

Was good value for the price, a couple things didnt work in my room but i told them and it wasnt a deal breaker for me.

I want to start my review by saying the staff was all friendly and helpful, my main gripe is calling this a 4 star hotel when its nowhere near that. The bathroom seems like a motel 6 bathroom, there are obviously painted over mold stains in it. It was as clean as could be given the state of the building but it feels like a wild over-exaggeration to consider this anything over 3 stars. The AC has no heat option and we were freezing, we looked in the storage and saw you could have extra sheets (not blankets) but if you used them, it costs 30$. Parking is also 35$, and overall the photos must be touched up or something because the scratch marks all over the wall, the bubbled up paint, and very cheap amenities are not that of what would be a 4 star hotel.

Great hotel

The hotel is solid, nothing really to complain about but also nothing really to be excited about. The location is ok for LA, there is even public transportation nearby which is definitely a plus if you’re a foreigner who chooses not to rent a car.

Breakfast is a classic buffet style continental breakfast.

With the booking you apparently sign up for their newsletter which is pretty annoying. I tried unsubscribing at least 4 times but they just don’t remove me from their mailing list.

Had a great time watching comedy called The Return of the Hollywood Hotel. Great comedians! Every second Saturday of the month! If you have time to check it out I highly suggest it!

The hotel lobby, entrance & space was wonderful. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable. We loved the gated parking. However, the fan in the bathroom was way too loud, and we could not turn it off, since it goes on with the light. The worst was the shower did not work at all. Just a little trickle from the bottom spout. Nothing from the top, we tried everything. We were barely able to wash up. I'm sure this was just in our room, other rooms may have been fine

Very clean, very safe, reasonable price. Just be prepared, parking is not included it was $38 for the night.

The hotel feels secure as it gated which is good as there is a group of homeless right outside the hotel on the street outside the gates. The check in clerk was informative and gave a great recommendation for dinner. The room was a good size. There are no chairs on the small patio. The hotel feels dirty, from the cigarettes in the parking area and planters, to the hotel rooms being dirty and have ants. We woke up to ants crawling on my son in his bed. The sheet has stains that have been washed and put back on the bed with a big black stain on it. Would not recommend this hotel. There are so many other hotels to choose from.

Stayed over this weekend. The room was extremely humid and no matter how cold I made the thermostat, the air was permanently sticky the whole time I was there. Noticed a few ants in the corner of the room as soon as I arrived, thought whatever. By the next day the entire room was completely infiltrated with sugar ants. My used bath towel that was high up on a chair had to have no less than 400 ants inside of it-this is not an exaggeration. When I went down to let front desk know, they had the manager come up and look. She told me that the ants have come in due to the weather and in short that it is what it is and she could either move me to another room but there will be ants in there as well or if I just wanted a good deep clean of the room instead, I said yes as that was really the only option I am given if there are still gonna be ants in a different room. When a housekeeper came by I asked for a trash bag so I could put the bath towel with the ants in it so it wouldn't spread, she told me that my room wasn't her responsibility and someone else would do it and she refused to just give me a trash bag. While I was waiting for the housekeeper that was assigned to me, I actually had to beg this woman(also a housekeeper so I dont really understand what the issue was) to then just take the towel out of my room because ants were falling to the ground in front of us while I was holding it, the housekeeper finally ripped it from me and actually got angry? Pretty insane to me when I asked for a trash bag and was going to take care of it myself. Terrible service, after my 'deep clean' after that there were still an insane amount of ants lining the entire room even going into the bathroom (which was super run down and outdated). Also zero offer of compensation which I honestly think I should have been comped for but did not want to put up a fight. Highly advise to stay away from this place, quite the ant nightmare

Good location. Loud room though. Could hear everything from outside street noise. Room is super hot. Air conditioner didn't work properly. When I asked if I could change rooms. She said we have neutral air coming in and all the air conditioners were the same in every room. What the hell? Ok.

Great affordable, clean, quiet, and charming hotel in East Hollywood. Location has easy access to any part of town you want to get to, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Go eat someplace nearby for breakfast. The "restaurant" on site is the only thing I'd speak negatively on.. Food in the area is so good, you'd be foolish to want to eat in the hotel anyways.

I'm so furious, I would give six stars if I could. My wife and I were having a romantic getaway there and I decided to take a male enhancement tablet. As you probably know, one of the side effects can be an erection lasting longer than 4 hours. Well, I was on hour six of this fella so the wife and I decide to go to the ER. As I awkwardly shuffled out of the lobby, holding a coat in front of my nether regions, I tripped and everyone in the lobby saw the condition I was in. Your smart alec clerk said "Looks like it's Viagra Falls in here". Everyone Iaughed and laughed at me. The worst part is, my wife told all the people she knows and now everyone is calling me Viagra Falls. Sure, it was a clever line but words can hurt.

Felt like we were in the middle of Hollywood and had to get a bus / Metro to get anywhere. Hotel was very old and tired. Needs a complete renovation and bar/restaurant as nothing outside the hotel to go to for a meal/drink!

Generally acceptable hotel. I stay there because of its proximity to my son's residence but this time there were a couple of small ants in the bathroom both days we were there.

Good hotel but immediate area a bit intimidating initially. Sadly no bar available and snacks only until 11am. Close to metro lines

Gorgeous hotel! Amazing staff! Felt safe! Vending machines on all floors! Rooms were restocked & beds made up daily! Bathroom was gorgeous! Within walking distance to many places! Bus stop in front of hotel! Stunning views from balconies & pool area was gorgeous! Sauna was amazing too! This hotel will be our LA home for future visits!
PS-Big shoutout to the gentleman who checked our family in on 3/14/24 as he went above and beyond for our family! If you ever want to come to TX, do not hesitate to contact us! We would love to show you around & take you mudding/do country stuff! Lol.--The Dennis Fam from TX

Overall this hotel is decent. It’s a bit old and the rooms are small, plus they have a bit of an ant problem (likely a spring/summer issue). We did ask them to clean the room whenever we would see ants and they would always get it done, they even cleaned the room without us asking. Location wise nothing is really walking distance other than a few food spots and convenient stores. If you are travelling and have a rental car then it’s worth staying here, otherwise it is not. There is also parking outside the left side of the hotel, it is $1/hour for 2 hours and free from 8pm-8am. If your room faces the inner courtyard, I would recommend bringing a sleeping mask because they keep the lights on all night and the curtains are not blacked out. They also have free parking across the paid parking area as well, but those spots get taken pretty quickly.

Location is key, but a good night's sleep is priceless. Good luck.

Leider hatte ich/wir von diesem Hotel nach den Bildern mehr erwartet und wurden ziemlich enttäuscht.

Vornweg: Vielleicht war es mal ein schönes Hotel aber aktuell ist es definitiv keine 4 Sterne wert. Der Eingangsbereich und die Flure im Erdgeschoss sind noch recht schön aber bei den Zimmern hört es dann leider auf.

Wir hatten ein Standartzimmer gebucht. Das allerdings sehr in die Jahre gekommen und abgewohnt war.
In unsrem Badezimmer waren ständig Ameisen und die Handtücher hatten einen sehr stechenden Geruch nach Chlor.
Housekeeping musste bis 8 Uhr in der Früh angemeldet werden sonst wurde das Zimmer nicht gereinigt. Wer also gern etwas länger schläft und das „Do not Disturb“ Schild erst um 08:30 Uhr abhängt hat Pech.

Frühstück wird nicht angeboten.
Unser Zimmer lag im Erdgeschoss mit einer Miniterrasse vor dem Fenster. Problem hierbei war das morgens und abends die anderen Gäste immer mit ihren Hunden an unsrem Zimmer vorbei zum Gassigehen liefen.
Ich kann das Hotel trotz der Lage nicht empfehlen da es für den Preis viel zu teuer ist.

L'hôtel est vraiment sympathique et magnifique.
Les chambres sont vraiment très propres et le personnel est adorable.
De plus il est vraiment bien placé.
Je peux d'ailleurs vous recommander de prendre le petit déjeuner car le choix est immense et franchement bon.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing accommodating staff who made us feel very welcome! I’m very excited to stay again once the restaurant opens up as I’m sure the atmosphere will give a true Hollywood experience.

hotel tres sympatique surtout les chambres donnant sur le patio. Le petit dejeuner est tres agreable. Deux bemols: l organisation du ménage des chambres ( une 1ere fois partie à la piscine tte la matinée , on remonte à 14h et c est a ce moment que la femme de menage veut faire notre chambre et le lendemain, jour de notre depart, frappe à la porte tres tot pour demander si elle peut faire la chambre) 2emement: le prix du parking beaucoup trop elevé comparé à d autres hotel et au quartier

superbe hôtel dépaysant et calme. le style est typique et tellement sympa le tout avec un prix mini comparé aux autres hotels.
