CASTILLO INN AT THE BEACH

I normally stay at 3-5 star hotels or resorts but had to settle for the Castillo Inn of SB because there weren't many hotels with suites available for the day I needed. Upon arrival, my family and I were pleasantly surprised by this inn.

Despite only having 2.5 stars, it is much better than many of the 3 or 4 star hotels we've stayed at. Our room is a 2br suite with a full efficiency kitchen. The room was nicely decorated and well furnished. The location is also great for the price point. It's only 1.5 blocks from the beach and a short walk to the SB downtown. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to this hotel if you're short on budget or just want more space than what some of the downtown SB hotels has to offer.

I subtracted 1 star because of the lack of amenities and service after 9pm. If you need to check in after 9pm or need service after that time, you're out of luck.

Well located hotel but lacking the amenities of other hotels.
Rooms very basic and need upgrading and bathrooms poor.
But it’s cheap for the area you are in

I was in town for a memorial and had flowers delivered to the hotel and put in the room with a/c on to keep them from wilting. Staff was very helpful and very kind. Room was great. It was close to beach (1 block away).

An Inn with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great location near the beach, the wharf, State St, and delicious restaurants. Everything is in walking distance.
