Danny fun waiter. Fish & chips. Fish was good.
Potatoes & Colslaw were so so.
WHEREAS, On March 32nd, 2024, Wind & Sea Restaurant will apparently throw a party for surviving fifty years of serving overpriced seafood to unsuspecting victims, all while pretending to be a cornerstone of Dana Point society; and
WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Mardian, the mastermind who chose frying fish over pursuing a real career, decided to bless Dana Point with Wind & Sea Restaurant back in 1972, and against all odds, managed to keep it afloat for five decades, proving that mediocrity knows no bounds; and
WHEREAS, In between cooking up overpriced fish dishes, Bob Mardian found the time to spread his culinary "genius" to other locations, because apparently, one overrated restaurant just wasn't enough for him; and
WHEREAS, Despite serving up dishes that would make even a seagull cringe, Wind & Sea Restaurant somehow convinced people to hold their weddings and special events there, probably because they were too drunk on mai tais to know any better; and
WHEREAS, Wind & Sea Restaurant proudly boasts a staff so ancient that their uniforms might as well be labeled "antique," with employees so deeply entrenched that their family trees are basically part of the restaurant's decor; and
WHEREAS, By joining the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, Wind & Sea Restaurant secured itself a shiny award for pretending to care about the local community while raking in profits from overpriced meals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY SENATOR NORMAN BATES, That upon the celebration of its fiftieth anniversary, Wind & Sea Restaurant be sarcastically applauded for somehow convincing people to eat there for fifty years and for pretending to be a pillar of the community.
I guess what really put me over the edge was the fact that I wanted to sit outside by the water. We were only a group of three and were told that it was not possible because you had to have six people. Instead we sat inside as we had no choice. as I sat inside I watched the four tables outside that were never utilized. So, here's to you. I traveled across the United States in hopes of good food and service, but I guess that's not what you guys are about.
Atmosphere: fantastic, dinner with a view to watch boats in harbor while sun is setting
Host/hostess: greeted us timely, friendly and sat us quickly. Booth with great view of harbor
Service: server rushed us through our evening and when we kept our own pace became inattentive and unfriendly, dropping plates and rushing away
Food: chefs special- scallops were raw, my wife excused herself immediately after first bite to be sick in the bathroom. Informed the server who offer to re-fire the plate so we could take home which we declined.
6:30 reservation, Saturday night, busy but no one waiting to sit
4 adults spending $50+ ea
Drinks, appetizers, meals (no dessert)
Special Occasion: wedding anniversary, friends have dinned at Wind & Sea previously and wanted to share the experience with us
