Un emplacement de rêve face à l’océan, une décoration marine fraîche et cosy, de l’espace, du charme… Bienvenue à Scripps Inn. Ce mini complexe d’une quinzaine de chambres surplombant la baie est un véritable petit paradis propice à la déconnexion. Entre les chambres lumineuses et douillettes agencées dans des tons clairs, la proximité de la plage, la vue absolument imprenable – d'autant plus lorsque le soleil se couche – et le calme du quartier, les lieux seront difficiles à quitter. Le plus : le service impeccable du personnel, aux petits soins.

This inn is a jewel! We enjoyed our stay here from the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted, to the moment we left and were bid a fond farewell. The room was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated in a beach theme, and very comfortable. The location was also perfect. If you come to La Jolla for vacation, don’t overlook Scripps Inn!

Minor things cannot get this little boutique hotel down in score for me. The location is outstanding in terms of closeness to the coves, Prospect, and many eateries, coffee shops, bars, etc. We stayed for two nights and I only wish we could've had a longer trip. La Jolla is magical in itself, but Scripps feels special. From the homey décor with the beachside theme, to the quaint terrace where you can read and sip a beverage with the ocean in your sightline.
The small stuff that wasn't worth sweating: outlets are rather oddly placed in the room (most often hidden behind furniture in such a way that it was hard or impossible to plug anything in; we used the washroom outlet most) and if you're in a first floor unit (we were in 5), you can definitely hear your upstairs neighbours walking about. All this doesn't negate the positives for me.
Brooke is the most wonderful concierge and goes out of her way to accommodate for her guests (personal text to notify that the room was ready early, luggage storage solution since our flight wasn't until the evening). The sweet ladies on the hotel staff were also incredibly kind and friendly. It's always so nice to get a smile back.
I hope I get to stay here again, especially for summer! Thanks so much, Scripps!
