We had a band lunch here with about 20 musicians. We were served in great time, together, with all the individual choices spot on. Burgers are brilliant and there’s a good range on offer. Tap beer is massively varied and the service so helpful.

Fantastic place, nice to get great food in somewhere that's not a chain. Good vegan options and were happy to swap things out to make veggie options vegan. Very good indeed.

return visit to Holyrood 9a we visit as a group of retired men of an age, and have been returning there for a while now.
the pub has always been brilliant for beer having a great selection of draught beers, the staff are always brilliant and have a great knowledge of the beers they serve. the food is amazing and the range of burgers is amazing and given the size of the kitchen bordering on miraculous for taste presentation and speed of service.

Popped in for dinner with some friends and their dog for dinner after a long, cold and wet walk around the town. Very welcoming staff and the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was super tasty and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. ????????????

Recommended by a friend. A really warm welcome and excellent service from the lovely staff. The food was delicious and the place had a really laid-back vibe. If you're in Edinburgh and fancy a burger, go here!

Die Getränke waren gut und die Bierauswahl sehr vielfältig und empfehlenswert. Das Essen hingegen äusserst nicht empfehlenswert. Die Wartezeit (bei wenig Gästen) besteht bei 45min. Die Burger-Brötchen sind kalt, das Fleisch trocken und der „original“ Burger besteht aus wenig Sauce und einem Salatblatt. Keine der Komponenten hat einen wirklichen Eigengeschmack. Bei den Saucen zu den Fries gibt es formell eine grosse Auswahl, jedoch schmecken alle gleich, primär nach fett und essig. Kumulativ kulinarisch wirklich nicht gut. Für ein Bier hingegen sehr zu empfehlen.

Beer selection changed since last visit 2.5 years ago.
Much more standard / national range and less interesting now. So a nice place but beer policy seems to have changed dramatically.

Very nice craft pub. Walked past it twice and didn't realise till i googled "craft".
It was written outside, but then it's written outside lots of places that aren't crafty.
Bit of a tardis. Both bigger and nicer on the inside than it looks like from outside.
Lots of taps but about 10 on today due to covid i presume. Still, good selection friendly service on a quietish Friday afternoon. Well cared for. Beer and place. Will come back next time I'm in town. Recommended.

Visited with five pals on a Tuesday night in December. The lasting impression I have is of the staff, and their friendly and super-attentive nature. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had that uncanny knack of remembering what everybody had to drink on the previous round!
The burgers were also tasty and filling.
We’ll certainly be back for more.

We first heard about Holyrood 9A through an online blog whilst looking for dog friendly places to eat and drink in Edinburgh, and were very happy to find it very close to where we were staying.
We visited twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the staff were very friendly and attentive, food was delicious and we really enjoyed the selection of beers and cocktails.
Also on both occasions, our dog was presented with a dish of water and some biscuits on a little silver plate - he was very appreciative!
Definitely on our list to revisit and recommend.

Un super pub pour allier dégustation de bières (large sélection à la carte et bières du moment) et de délicieux hamburgers en parallèle, dans un cadre très agréable (musique, serveurs et agencement des tables par petits espaces). Attention pour les amateurs de burgers, le bœuf se mange uniquement très cuit en Ecosse !
