Maison Bleue entretient ses influences françaises, nord-africaines et écossaises pour jouer la carte de la variété et permettre aussi bien de craquer pour le couscous royal ou une variante de la bouillabaisse marseillaise. Les menus font mouche le midi et en début de soirée pour bien manger à prix raisonnable.

I had a very disappointing experience for valentine's day. The starter for my date was good (scallops) but my calamari was soggy, sad and at best, a 6/10. The worst bit was we had to wait 2 hours from entering the restaurant to get our main... almost 1.5hrs after getting our starter. At that point one would eat anything... The staff did not check on us and blamed it on "an absent chef", when everybody else had their food. I would have preferred honesty that they forgot. When the main came, they were small and not very good. The beef was bland and the curry was unimpressive. After a nearly 2 hour wait, being served this quality of food ruined the occasion. The wait staff stopped asking how we found the food because they already knew the answer and generally did not provide much service. The dessert was pretty good (sticky toffee pudding), but having a decent starter and good dessert does not make up for it. You would not say a burger is good if only the buns were tasty. I would not bring anybody here for a big occasion, unless you wish to be left disappointed.

A great little spot if you want a sophisticated atmosphere and delicious food.

The food we had was delicious and very filling.
The serving staff were very lovely but were clearly busy so it took a while to track one down and get the bill!

The Baileys Crème Brûlée was probably the best crème brûlée that I have ever had.

The venison and gumbo were delicious also.
Oh and you must try the haggis balls!

We had a lovely and memorable evening.
