Not really French fine cuisine and not as good as expected according to the reviews. Certainly overpriced for the quality.

Main meal was excellent and house wine good. Had venison.Was quiet for a Thursday night. Decor upstairs could do with a revamp.

Visited today on the suggestion of a friend who has history of eating around Edinburgh. Absolutely fantastic food with a brilliant atmosphere, my fiancée speaks French and our waitress conversed with her fluently and made her feel very welcome. We had a brilliant beef bourguignon and enjoyed our time here. Would absolutely visit again if we ever find ourselves in Edinburgh.

Amazing food, very high quality and delicious. Quite pricey, but the portion sizes are huge and the ingredients are fresh so it’s worth it!

I've been meaning to visit this place for years, just because the building is so unique. I'm very glad that I did! The upstairs restaurant has a slightly old-fashioned feel, but is charming. the food and service was absolutely fantastic. There's a bit of a draught by the door, but otherwise top marks.

Fantastic french cuisine. The Shetland mussels were a little on the small size, but delicious. The beef main just fell apart. Highly recommended!

Had a birthday dinner with 18 people. All was good, staff friendly, and had great food with various dishes selected for sampling. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and wine.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell. Die Küche verwendet gute frische Produkte und das Wild, welches wir als Hauptgericht hatten war hervorragend, ich hätte gerne fünf Sterne vergeben, allerdings hatte zum Wild die Sauce komplett gefehlt - es wurde "lediglich" im Bratsud serviert. Wenn es voll ist kann es etwas lauter werden. Fazit: Ein Besuch lohnt sich.....aber bitte keine französische Küche erwarten ????.

1 very large group (should have been in a private room) arrived and the volume increased substantially, making it impossible to talk at the table.

Lunch date with a friend. Restayrant was veey busy and we were told 2 hours for table, we over ran but this wasn't a problem. Two course lunch deal was good value and qualiry was very good, all washed down with a nice bottle of red. Staff friendly and polite. A lovely buzzy Saturday afternoon.
