The Hide Safari Camp accumule les prix d’excellence !

A special thanks to our guide Toppers who topped our stay with a Leopard. Thanks guys.
1. Our transfers to and from The Hide were very disorganized. On the way back from safari, the driver was over an hour late to pick us up, leaving us standing in the 95 degree midday heat with no communication whatsoever on when they would arrive. When I discussed this issue with the Hide, they offered to send a refund on the transport. It's been almost 6 months since they offered a refund, and any time I email to ask when it will be coming, they say they're having issues sending money out of the country. I'll bet they're not having any issues accepting money though! Technically, the transport was done by a third party company, but we paid The Hide directly for it. The fact that they have taken no responsibility for making this right is telling, and it fits in line with our other experiences with them.
2. We felt that the staff were not responsive to requests we made. For instance, we asked to borrow an iron and never heard back. We asked to be switched out of a group where the other members were sick and coughing/sneezing on the backs of our heads all day, and The Hide said we couldn't because all the other cars were full, but we saw another safari car go out half empty that same day. As two tall people we struggled with the portion sizes of the food provided, and the seating in the safari car was very tight (knees pressed against the seat in front of you). Felt like being on an airplane. There were a few other things but I have trouble remembering the details six months out.
Overall, we felt that for the money charged, the Hide needs to step up their game and make guests feel completely taken care of. Otherwise it did not feel like a luxury experience.
