BEEKMAN ARMS AND DELAMATER INN

Beekman Arms was perfectly located off I-87 South and the
room (25) is my favorite. This Inn will be my 'go-to-Inn' when
traveling the Hudson Valley. The service by your staff and the
Inn's amenities were top-notch. The food quality was excelllent; Miles, your excellent-waitstaff, served dinner both nights. He
told me he has been with Beekman Arms for five years.
So, I love the Town of Rhinbeck, and will return soon as I can!

Pros:
- Amazing location, except for the part where you have to lug your bags several blocks down to where you are actually staying.
- Friendly staff, though they told us our room would be ready soon so my husband stuck around waiting for it when it actually took more than 3 hours. Waste of his day.
- Gorgeous historic restaurant (though the food is inedible slop, I can't remember the last time I've ever sent back 90% of my food and they didn't even comp it)
- Free sherry in the room (though it's in an unsealable old crystal container so we didn't touch it obviously)
- Fantastic water pressure (except when you bump into the shower handle repeatedly and scald your skin with nowhere to go in the tiny shower)
Cons:
- Restaurant food is slop. Worse than IHOP. The turkey pot pie was basically starchy Campbell soup with uncooked vegetables. The potatoes were actually hard and crunchy. Inedible. I'm not sure uncooked potatoes are even safe to eat. Zero offer to comp the meal even though we sent all of it back uneaten.
- Rooms are extremely run down. Chipped paint everywhere, blinds that don't work, broken sink glued back together. Bizarre shower handle mechanism that I accidentally bumped in the tiny shower and scalded my skin. My husband just walked out of the shower as I was writing this and told me he did the same, so I can only assume this is a common occurrence. Dangerous with the scalding temperatures of their shower.
- Hard beds.
