The price is fair, minimal spend is 150 Dirham p.P, the sunbed is included.
We are coming next year again!
2 out of 5 for value versus price.
The ambiance was set with a DJ playing enjoyable music, though sadly the poor quality of the sound system made it difficult to appreciate, as we could only hear overwhelming bass.
The food was generally average. The dumplings were notably dry, and the shrimp sauce lacked seasoning. The fried baby octopus had well-prepared breading, but the edamame was overcooked. The sushi options, including maki and machi, were mediocre and forgettable, with the machi leaving an unpleasant aftertaste.
Desserts continued the trend of disappointment, delivering a below-average experience with a milky aftertaste and tasteless meringue.
Drinks were perhaps the worst aspect of the night. The cocktails, even the basics, were poorly crafted, leading to a situation where my partner couldn’t finish hers. Additionally, the use of worn plastic cups did not complement the drinking experience.
Service did little to redeem the situation. The hostess greeted us with a demeanor more suited to a medical facility than a restaurant. The staff seemed uninterested in basic hospitality, exemplified by a lack of greeting and minimal interaction. I found myself requesting the cleaning of our table multiple times and eventually removing plates myself.
In summary, the place did not live up to expectations, even considering the absence of generosity, which might be overlooked if compensated by fine dining and excellent drinks. This was not the case here.
My advice? Consider visiting the neighboring restaurant, which seems to provide a superior experience.
It is indeed one of the best place to chill out with friends. I would recommend this place to my friends for sure. I am definitely coming back. The staff is friendly & ambience was so good.
Ankit was really helpful & he made sure we had a great day !!
Located in the Palm West Beach area, which has a lovely beach promenade for a nice stroll before or after dinner.
We had a really pleasant evening with a live DJ (Antonio I think was his name) playing both soothing and also energetic electronic music… interspersed with various instruments which he played himself, what a treat! Also he was extremely obliging to everyone who wanted a pic or to dance along. Loved his happy energy and friendliness…he is an asset to the restaurant.
The ambience is friendly…and no pressure to dress up to the nines, even though the menu is quite refined.
Now the menu…first of all we were impressed by the selection of Cocktails - very unusual and beautifully displayed in a newspaper format with photos…gives you an idea of what to expect. The cocktails themselves were a good pour size compared to some other high end restaurants and tasted good.
The food menu has a great range of eclectic cuisines…this can sometimes be a negative - but Koko Bay has managed to pull it off by serving a great Thai papaya salad …whilst *also* making an equally delicious burrata salad.
The dim sum, truffle fries and crispy bream were beautifully done and tasty.
And the desserts were the icing on the cake. Even in the Michelin star restaurants it’s hard to find a good gluten free *and* dairy free dessert (other than boring sorbet)…usually you either get one or the other. Koko Bay managed to swing it with their gluten free and dairy free Hawaiian pineapple carpaccio dessert, which was delicious and served with a dairy free scoop of very delicious ice cream. . Such a treat for anyone but especially those with dietary restrictions, usually have to skip dessert due to the lack of dietary options, but not this time!
The staff and service were fabulous. Food came out very quickly, was impressed. Shout out to our server Manuel who provided us with suggestions and recommendations while we were trying to decide what to order.
Overall a lovely evening and a great find…will be back!
You need to reserve sunbeds online at least 2 days in advance for 150AED per person (during the week) which is fully redeemable for food, drinks, including drinks (69-89 AED) and beer (43-55 AED).
Koko Bay is also one of the best places at West Palm Beach, without too much crowd, and there's lots of space to enjoy the day.
Great view.
Kid friendly
Kudos to the service staff who are accommodating, insightful and always around to help you. The manager is really helpful and understanding.
Highly Recommended for beach day!!! ⛱️
