Staff gave a key to my room to a complete stranger, which was terrifying. They get one star for agreeing to move me to a different room after the incident occurred for my safety. Staff was rude and dismissive despite this huge error which could have risked myself and my friend's life. I have never felt so unsafe in my life at a hotel.

The people that work here weren't very friendly. The rooms are small and basic but this is what we expected. Things like the bed lights didn't work, people left the shared bathroom messy. The location is great.

I stayed in a room with a twin bunk bed. I would advise future travelers that this hotel has more of a hostel-feeling; my room was very small with a steel sink inside, and I shared the bathroom and showers with others on my floor. I didn't feel as relaxed as I would in a full hotel room, but if you're fine with the situation described, this place is great. The room was very clean and the service was phenomenal -- Benny at the front desk was especially kind and accommodating. The roof and cafe area are a great addition too!

Pues en otra ocasiones, he estado en el pod, pero ahora está muy caro, yo lo elegí porque era más barato y cerca, pero ahora es muy caro. Entonces cambiaré de hotel.

Not a bad hotel for a first NYC trip. Rooms are small but comfortable, service was quite good (gave me a good address for laundry), and a few minutes from Central Park.
Only downsides is that bathrooms are centered around the elevators, and breakfast options are very few in the hotel; gotta go to nearby streets for bakeries.

Camera per due persone un po' piccola però pulita. Il personale alla reception è preciso e la posizione dell'albergo è ottima

COCKROACH was found in our room early morning which really affected our day as we were tired throughout but a replacement room was provided to us quickly

However, after the stay we asked for some sort of refund/reimbursements with 2 emails and still no reply.

We had a very good stay ! The rooms are small but very practical and clean ! Room was done everyday, the staff is very nice !
Small restaurants and supermarkets around as well as a few subway station ! But you can walk easily 15-20 minutes to arrive in TimeSquare
Our room had a nice view and the hotel also had a small very cute rooftop !

It was already stated that it is a budget hotel, so the rooms are no doubt super small, and the toilet is too… but it is clean & not toooo bad.

The staffs and cleaning ladies are very friendly and they give a lot of soap bars.

I love the rooftop.. it is quiet and chill especially during the cold weather.

The location is good! Easy to walk around in the cold weather
- 21 min walk to central park
- 3 min walk to the nearest station (LEXINGTON AV/53)
- theres lots of shop and restaurants nearby

There was a rat in my room!!! I heard noises several times during the night until I saw it. I called the reception and they pretended it was the noise of the water running down the heater. Bathrooms not cleaned. I highly doubt not recommend.

In the labyrinth of Manhattan's East Side, where the spirits of the past harmonize with the pulse of the present, the Pod 51 Hotel emerges as a modern haven seamlessly woven into the rich tapestry of New York City. A gem nestled in the heart of Midtown East, this establishment manages to strike a delicate balance between contemporary chic and the timeless allure of its surroundings.

As I stepped into the Pod 51, I couldn't help but marvel at the meticulous fusion of modern design and the historic aura that permeates the East Side. In the spirit of Joseph Mitchell, whose pen eloquently captured the essence of this vibrant city, the Pod 51 Hotel speaks a language that resonates with both the erudite traveler and the nostalgic New Yorker.

The lobby, a space where elegance meets efficiency, offers a welcoming embrace to weary wanderers. A palette of muted tones, punctuated by subtle pops of color, exudes a sophisticated charm. The simplicity of the decor acts as a canvas, allowing the city's energy to take center stage.

The rooms, though compact, echo the mantra of less is more. Every inch is thoughtfully utilized, providing a cocoon of comfort in the heart of the metropolis. The panoramic views of the city skyline are a visual feast, a testament to the hotel's strategic positioning amidst the urban sprawl.

The rooftop lounge is a crowning jewel, offering a breathtaking panorama that spans the cityscape. Against the backdrop of towering skyscrapers and the whispering winds of the East River, one can't help but feel connected to the beating heart of New York City.

What sets Pod 51 apart is its commitment to sustainability, seamlessly integrating eco-friendly practices without compromising on style or comfort. In a city that never sleeps, this establishment stands as a beacon of responsible hospitality.

As Joseph Mitchell once contemplated the ebb and flow of life in the city, the Pod 51 Hotel captures that sentiment, inviting guests to be part of the ever-evolving narrative of New York. Whether you're a traveler seeking refuge in the city that never sleeps or a local rediscovering your roots, Pod 51 is a modern masterpiece that harmonizes with the old soul of the East Side, leaving an indelible mark on the pages of New York's storied history.

The rooms were tinier than they looked online. That was misleading. The sink is in the same room as the bedroom, there’s no barrier, so while you’re laying in bed, you can see the mirrors on all sides of the sink, it’s three mirrors that let you see your face from the ugly sides and not just the front. The entire sink area looked like it was pulled out of a prison cell and installed there. They charged me 50 extra dollars on the booking website, and it said it was a fully refundable security deposit, but it was not. In total, I paid like 168 dollars for horrible service and a single night in New York. The only good thing about this hotel is the rooftop view, which was hard to get to, you have to take the elevator and then after going through a maze of hallways, find a staircase that takes you to the roof. I would never go here again.

Agoda made a mistake, we booked a room for the night of the February 29th and when the e-mail appeared in my husbands yahoo account it was for March 3. From there, everything transformed into a nightmare. Why? After my husband called Agoda and the agent expedited to fix the mistake, the property staff was denying us a room. During almost 90 minutes, I approached the front desk several times to check if the problem was cleared but the recepcionist was requesting me for PATIENCE. Finally, he yelled from behind his counter that he needed an ID. Since my husband is handicapped, once again, I had to get up and take my husband’s ID. The room given was too small for two passengers, the heating did not work during the whole night and the internal phone was not working so each time I called the front desk for help with fixing the heating, the staff will hang up. How did everything finish? At 7 am we were moved to a horrible room with heating and after a thorough overview of the matter by the manager, my husband was given $ 23 back! By the way, we had paid $ 109 (Agoda) + 23 (Pod 51) The hotel has to improve training and remove staff who is not guest friendly. Bunk rooms with shared bath-rooms are similar to dorms in college, if you’d like to go back to your school days, go for it. I definitely don’t!!!
