Une bonne occasion d’aller faire un tour dans le plus luxueux hôtel de la ville, ancien Nile Hotel tant aimé d’Amin Dada, c'est d’aller tester un de ses trois restaurants (tous assez chers). L'Explorer, à la décoration racée évoquant le voyage (malles, mappemonde, globe...) et les explorateurs européens qui ont parcouru la région des Grands Lacs (Speke, Grant...) propose une carte où les amoureux de la cuisine italienne seront ravis (pâtes, pizzas) ; la carte des boissons est conséquente. The Lakes, où des musiciens égayent parfois la salle, propose quelques spécialités locales, comme le tilapia ou l'Ugandan beef stew, en sus des salades et des grillades. Au premier étage, le Pearl of Africa propose quelques plats français. Le Champagne bar (qui propose les vins mousseux que l'on devine...) et au rez-de-chaussée, le Mist (clin d’œil au film Gorillas in the mist) sont deux bars agréables pour siroter un breuvage...
