HOTEL VILLA GIULIANA * * * *

The staff is small because it's a 12 room villa.....don't mistake small for "not enough". The ladies at the reception desk switch out - so you do get comfortable with them. When they found out that I am Sicilian - they were - if possible - even warmer to me. Ciara - hope I spelled it correctly - told me that she would speak to me in Sicilian so that I would learn more. It was wonderful.
The rooms are small & clean. Your 1st thought might be that it's just too small, but I promise you that will be the only time it crosses your mind.
The restaurant is way above par! For breakfast they have the typical European buffet - fruits/pastries/meats & cheeses/ cereal/eggs & potatoes. Ice isn't a real big thing there - but I asked for ice "ghiaccio" for my fresh juice on my 1st morning. The 2nd morning the young lady came out with a glass of ice for me. She never forgot & I had ice every morning.
Dinner there was an experience! Every night we would receive aa "gift from the chef". All different & everyone a culinary thrill. From the pulpo salad to the tiny arancini. The Quadratini - 4 corners - was pasta like a ravioli that was stuffed with eggplant & had strips of fried eggplant with a fresh Pomodoro sauce on it . The filetto's - beef tenderloin - cut with a fork. The pork that was cooked in a red wine were ridiculous! I could eat that every day - with bread to dip in the juices!!
From the villa there is a view of a castle - which we didn't appreciate until we saw it at night. It looked like gold! I'll add some pics here.
The view from the Villa is outstanding! You can see over the edge of the pool out to the Strait of Sicily. No noise from airplanes. This is not a place to go if you usually bury yourself in electronics. Go there to breathe & be in peace. Villa Giuliana will help you achieve that!
Licata - where I want to be & will be in 2025! I will be booking at Villa Giuliana!
Licata is amazing - beautiful & quiet. I yearn for it!
