Very old and run down building, staff and location are fantastic; overall it was fun to stay at a historic and possibly haunted hotel but would probably not choose here again unless the price was crazy good.

Adam at the front desk was amazing and made our stay so enjoyable! The front desk always had fresh lemon water and that was much appreciated. The courtyard made for an awesome place to hangout and relax. Andrew the cat was the cherry on top, we loved him so much. Seriously this place rocks! It's also allegedly haunted which certainly added some excitement to the trip! Shoutout to the amazing staff who made our trip a breeze! Andrew the cat- we love you!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Andrew Jackson Hotel on 3/29. The hotel is an older building and might not have some of the big chain amenities, but you can’t beat the character of the place, and the location was outstanding - right smack dab in the middle of the French Quarter, extremely walkable to anywhere you need to go. The outdoor private courtyard is a great plus!

The staff were all friendly but Adam really stood out as going above and beyond. He was extremely helpful in every aspect of our stay (more than any other hotel employee I’ve encountered at any property!) and had some great ghost stories to share. (Yes, the property is haunted! We didn’t see anything in our stay but even before I knew anything about the history of the hotel, I walked into our room and felt like something was there with us. I’m kind of glad we didn’t know the full history of that particular room until after we left!) We will definitely be returning our next NOLA trip.

Obviously a great location - quick access to most anything! The building itself is clearly old, which comes with its quirks, but the upkeep could really be quite a bit better.
We stayed in 208 - our sheets were stained and we found hair in the bed when we went to sleep on our sheets, the bottom one of which was on inside out. We were missing a shower curtain and a drain to the tub. The sink did not produce hot water and the cool air goes on and off. The TV is in demo-mode so it has every five minute ads that it overlays on whatever you are watching. There are also very few surfaces to put things on and outlets are few/far between (example: only on one side of the bed).
The courtyard has a fountain - it’s empty and dirty. The courtyard itself is a bit worse for wear and just not clean (good example: the stairs are in need of a good sweep/wash). Im not even sure there is a cleaning staff.
A downside of location, location, location is also that people in NOLA party and you are going to hear them at all hours. People at the front were sometimes there and sometimes not - nobody was super friendly/overly helpful, they were fine. If I were to stay here again, I’d stay on the first floor - though I’m not sure I’d stay here again.
It has potential to be quaint but it’s just not cared for, and it looks like previous reviews have said the same.
If you believe in ghosts, we experienced nothing, for what it’s worth.

Location is great but that's it. The hotel was dirty, staff was dramatic and upon our arrival we clearly had sheets that had been slept in by someone else and towels were used and had make up and hair on them. We requested new sheets and towels 3 times and on the third request received clean sheets but not towels. I will never stay here again

I just got back from a short VC here for my birthday. Adam at the front was very pleasant and helpful. He was the only staff member there that made us feel welcome. When checking in I don’t think the lady said two words to me beside where the room was. I was disappointed with the room. dirty upon my arrival. I’m not one to complain but I talked with Adam about the condition of my room because every day I was finding something else and he made it clear how apologetic he was and that it would be handled. Besides that the building was charming we used the back sitting area a lot and met so many nice people that were staying there as well. Adam also gave me and my significant other ideas to go to/see well we were there. I didn’t rent a car so the location of the place was perfect for us to be able to walk and do everything we wanted to. Would definitely want to go back to New Orleans!!

The place has its pros and cons. Great location sweet staff members comfortable beds and unique rooms and it was very quiet. 1st night was great 2nd day I woke up to shower to find that there was no hot water called the front desk maintenance came messed with the tub said he would be bk and never came bk so after 4 hrs of waiting for hot water they finally switched my room get to the 2nd room there was hot water and the room was bigger but the bathroom was nasty hair everywhere knob on tub was broke shower leaking all night mold on bathroom sink. The price is to high to have such issues but as stated other then that stay was nice oh was also not given the heads up to not lock the bottom lock when not in room has to wait like an hr to get in my room after a long night of drinking I would give this place a 2nd chance I just hope issues are corrected next time

We had an AMAZING experience at this hotel. The service was phenomenal, the staff was extremely friendly and communicative. The rooms were beautiful and cozy. This place is a perfect location for exploring the French Quarter and all it has to offer!

As for the spooky side, we believe this place is absolutely haunted. We did a ghost hunt with Gators & Ghosts in the back house, and captured some amazing evidence with them. In our room, we had sheets being tugged off of us, drawers opened, stuff moved, and heard footsteps all over our room. If you are into the paranormal, this is a great place to stay!

My daughter and I stayed here on January 6,2024 our stay was supposed to be for 2 nights but with bad weather coming in and possible flooding we Decided to check out later Sunday afternoon to head home . I called the hotel to arrange my vehicle to be brought back for checkout . The guy working the desk called me within just a small amount of time and told me my vehicle was back for departure. My daughter and I were right around the corner when we walked up three men where standing there staring at us and something to me didn’t seem right ! The young guy that had been working the desk said Mrs. Collins your vehicle has been in a wreck ! I said what ?? As he was going to say tell me more , the manager Shane Sullivan told the young kid to shut up and go back inside ! ( He did ) there was a very nice guy that was standing there and begin telling me how the man driving my vehicle hit him on down in the French quarter and jumped out pushed his front fender on his car 2024 Chevrolet corvette in and said I’m sorry I’m sorry then got back in my vehicle and continued to drive . The driver of the corvette followed him to the hotel to confront him and see who and what was gonna happen. This is where we had just walked up soon after . Shane wrote down a statement and my daughter and I called the police to document what had taken place and Shane assured us the hotel would pay the damages to my vehicle , that he knew it was not my fault. When my daughter and I got in my vehicle to leave my daughter noticed 2 glass marbles in the passenger side door that does not belong to us , I then looked at my mileage and had more miles on my vehicle then were on it and I had just filled up not far out of New Orleans before arriving like I always do and it now had a half a tank . My daughter and I went back inside to confront them of the marbles and mileage and Miles and they both were very nervous acting . Shane had given me his phone number and told me to call him as soon as we got the estimate on my vehicle. I went on Monday and did that the estimate is totaled at $2219.09 on damage not including gas and mileage and we have left several messages and he will not call us and we have left several to try to get this resolved before hiring a lawyer . The hotel will not give us the owners name or number so if you get this ( the owner) please get my number from Shane and let me hear back from you . Also the guy that was driving my vehicle is a convicted sex offender to top it off .

Let's start with the positives!

- Great location, I mean we walked everywhere, the only time we had to take a Lyft or an Uber was when we were going to and from the airport.

- The Service, everyone was super friendly and asked us if we needed anything.

- Historic, if you want to feel like you are staying somewhere with a historical significance, i would categorize this hotel as one.

- Value, compared to other hotels, we only paid about $750 for four nights.

The Negatives

- It's old, I mean it just it what it is, doesn't look like they've done any remolding and have tried to keep the structures about the same, so don't expect luxury or anything out of the rooms.

- Cleanliness, I personally saw two bugs, they looked like tiny roaches, one in the shower and one on the bed when we arrived, it was not pleasant. My husband saw in total five, but thankfully spared me from the knowledge. Plus there were two mosquitos. I'm not really sure if there is anything that the staff can do better about this, it might just have to do with the hotel's structure, the door kind of has slits where I imagine small bugs can creep in from the outside and we were on the first floor. What can you really do?

Overall I would rate this 4 stars, because I just don't really know how the staff would be able to improve the cleanliness of the hotel or change the rooms to make them look nicer. Plus i mean you really cannot beat the location.

Would I stay here again or recommend this hotel? Honestly no, I wouldn't, I would just try to stay somewhere else in the French Quarter and hope I wouldn't have the same problems.

Looks nothing like website pictures. Small rooms, very few outlets. Toilet handle was broken and my husband had to fix it. Employees couldn't care less about their jobs or customer service.

Service
