The food was fantastic.
Gregory helped me make selections for all courses and found the perfect wine to accompany my meal.
Highly recommend adding the bread plate. It seems simple, but it had the perfect contrast of soft pillowy insides with toasted crisp crust. The butter used was so creamy and complimented it perfectly.
The Adventurous appetizer was a fun and quite different opener to the meal. It definitely could have served 2-3 people so I was quite stuffed by the time I got to the end. I enjoyed the opportunity to guess what I was eating. It was so good and I was definitely surprised by what it was!
While I’m not usually a fan of French onion soup, theirs was incredible. The cheese was complimentary instead of overwhelming and bread retained its crispiness throughout.
I had the Cornish hen with potatoes and mushrooms as a main, and I was impressed with the variety and pairing of the mushrooms to the dish. They were hearty but not overwhelming. Including 5+ types of mushrooms gave a delightful contrast to the rest of the dish.
The Chantilly cake had perfectly crispy edges and was the right weight for the end of such a rich meal.
Dinner was a Prix Fix affair which was very good, but couldn't show off the full strength of the kitchen. Included a delicious cauliflower soup, a small simple salad and a very good, if small Lobster Thermador. Desert of a chocolate cake or cheese plate rounded out the dinner with an excellent wine pairing.
The seating is tight, but the atmosphere delightful. We will return!
We had the surprise starter by the chef which was a chicken liver dish. We did enjoy it and it was the first and last good diding experience of the night.
I ordered the pork chop as main which was disappointing. The composition of the dish was good but unfortunately the pork chop was prepared not well at all. There was no sear whatsoever and it almost felt like a boiled meat dish - the fat was not rendered at all which is not good on a pork chop which is approximately 30% fat.
However, while a pork chop is a pork chop even if it's not correctly prepared my partner's porcini linguine was just bad on so many different levels. First of all, it was overcooked to the point of disintegration. However it seems the pasta dough was either substantially overworked and/or contained some sort of bonding agent that kept the stuff together on the plate. However once in your mouth it would have the texture of really sticky glue with a distinct taste of cardboard. It was quite amazing because the mushroom sauce was really decent but paired with the pasta it was just horrible.
Please check my review history generally I'm not giving poor reviews but this one here is well deserved. We score 2/5 due to the good service and good wine. However the main dishes really would score a 0.5/5 - so we would not recommend dining here based off our experience
The desserts were fire!
The salad with fig & gorgonzola was simple but refreshing. The tagliatelle was really well cooked. As was the monk fish my wife had. And then both of the desserts were great, although rum & raisin ice cream always wins.
Service was brilliant. And whilst we sat inside, we kind of wish we'd booked a table outside on the street.
If we had more time in San Francisco we'd be back.
Tried first time this week! They have a fixed menu with appetizer, entree and dessert.
The combination of flavors and fresh food made the night.
Our waiter made even better the experience with really good recommendations of food and drinks

Definitely recommend this French dine experience in SF.

We had the adventure appetizer, which was fascinating! Very complex flavor and great texture. I’m not going to spoil the ingredients, but you have to try it!
The menu couse we had the salad, which was already good enough. With extra prosciutto, the combination came to another level.
Main course, my friend and I got monkfish and steak. Both were good. But the desert, omg that’s mine-blowing! The white chocolate custard with peach, I literally teared up a little bit. I’m never a white chocolate fan, cuz it tastes too sweet and the texture of some of them is like wax. But this one, it was soooo good, I almost wanted a second one. The peach was the sweetest part, the custard provided a great balance between dairy and chocolate, the texture was even like mochi a little bit. The best part was the plum sauce, which provided a great acidic flavor and complex smell.
My friend got the raison ice cream, which was also amazing!
But if I have to recommend, try the white chocolate custard, you won’t regret it!
