Avis HOTEL 1926 Sliema

Great hotel that was very clean and well maintained and felt a nice amount of luxurious. The room itself is fairly basic but had AC (which you definitely need) and was clean at all times. The best part(s) of this hotel is the beach/pool club and the free tours they provide. The beach/pool club is amazing and really fun with good music and incredible views. You can swim the sea and then go straight into the pool that overlooks the sea which was just so luxurious and amazing. The food was good (a little pricey but to be expected for that location) and drinks were also decent. They offered a free bus tour in a vintage bus on one day which went to the Blue Lagoon (where you could get a boat tour for 10 euros), Mdina, and Dingley Cliffs. All those places would have cost quite a lot to get to by taxi, and the buses weren't super reliable, so to not only have this tour on offer but to have it for FREE was incredible!! I was so pleasantly surprised and it really made our trip to Malta. Would definitely recommend staying here again, the staff were really professional and helpful and it was great value for money (although paying extra for some of the breakfast items like pancakes was a bit annoying).

O hotel parece ser bastante recente visto ser tudo muito moderno e em estado de perfeita conservação. Vale muito a pena o preço foi bastante acessível em comparação com outros e o conforto era excelente. O staff foi bastante prestável e disponível sempre que solicitado. A piscina exterior fica em um club a uns 100 metros do hotel o que torna a experiência exequível sem qualquer problema. Bons transportes na zona do hotel.

Having stayed here before and absolutely loving the hotel we were excited to stay here again however we were sadly disappointed. Our flight was delayed and when we arrived to the hotel we just wanted to get to our room and sleep but we had to fill out forms on one of the tablets despite my fiancé filling out these forms days before when emailed them and then we had to wait for our room code to be texted to our phones... a long of a wait and there was still no text and we were eventually given our code by a member of staff (not sure why we couldn't be given it straight away considering the time.. still to this day we never got the code text to us).

We finally got to our room at 1.30am and we were surprised to see our room was an accessible room (which we had not requested) but we didn't mind as it added extra space even if the bathroom was not what we expected given we'd stayed here before. Unfortunately, with our room being on the 1st floor it was above the reception and bar and we had a lot of noise that kept waking up up throughout the night and early hours... this continued all week and we ended up sleeping with earphones in just to try and block out the noise and get some rest... the walls of the adjoining rooms must have been paper thin too as we could hear the next door room blowing their nose?! Also, I believe a staff cleaning cupboard was right by our room so that created additional noise too.. can this not be moved to be a bit further away from rooms? Very very loud! Waking up from noise at 3-6am wasn't our idea of relaxing.

Like I said we've stayed here before and we definitely didn't have any issue with noise last time. Last time we didn't hear any noise outside our rooms, noise from below or above our rooms and we definitely didn't hear anyone blowing their nose in the adjoining rooms... do rooms on higher floors just have better soundproofing?! We were very disappointed by this as we understand yes the reception is below etc but surely there should be better soundproofing or....just don't have those 2/3 spare rooms above reception and through the glass door.

Additionally, we were told we'd have a tablet in our room and I remember this from last time we stayed it was really handy as you could book the spa on there etc and we didn't have one in our room this time (despite being told we would). We booked our room saying we'd have a balcony yet again this is something we didn't have as our room was right above the entrance we had doors we could open but no balcony to sit out on which was a big shame as we made the most of our balcony on our last stay having drinks and relaxing there etc. At least we got our robes and slippers, oh wait... we did have them but after our room was cleaned our robes and slippers had disappeared so we thought ok maybe they forgot to put them back and/or replace them... we get our room cleaned again, no robes or slippers - this was a shame!

Overall after our last stay here the hotel was a disappointment, which is a huge shame as we'd planned on staying here again in our next visit but I don't think we would now. The price was more expensive this time around and we didn't mind paying more as we thought we'd get our money's worth after our last visit which we loved!! Sadly this wasn't the case, the value for money was a lot less this time around.

We will be looking at other options for our next visit.

Nous avons séjourné une semaine à l’Hotel 1926. Il est est idéalement situé, à quelques minutes à pied du centre ville de Sliema et du ferry pour La Valette. Nous avions choisi cet hôtel pour son Beach Club et nous n’avons pas été déçus sur ce point, l’infinity pool est super et les cocktails très bons.

L’hôtel est moderne, les chambres sont belles et la literie confortable mais il manque cruellement de rangements au point de ne pas pouvoir déballer sa valise. La douche italienne est mal conçue, même en faisant attention il y avait de l’eau partout et cela provoque beaucoup d’humidité dans la chambre. Les rideaux ne sont pas suffisamment occultants.

Le gros point négatif est le personnel. Lors de notre arrivée, le réceptionniste nous a demandé de faire le check-in nous même et n’a même pas pris la peine de nous présenter l’hôtel : pas d’indication du lieu et des horaires du petit-déjeuner, du spa ou même du beach club qui se trouve à 500m. Lorsque nous sommes allés au spa, on nous a indiqué qu’il fallait réserver un créneau horaire pour accéder à la piscine intérieure, information qui ne nous a bien évidement pas été donnée lors de notre arrivée. Le personnel au petit-déjeuner est nonchalant et soupire même lorsqu’on leur demande de vérifier la machine à café qui ne fonctionne plus. Par ailleurs, nous avons trouvé inadmissible que l’hôtel facture chaque jour la bouteille d’eau plate dans la chambre sachant que celle du robinet est imbuvable.

Nous avons toutefois été agréablement surpris par le fait que l’hôtel ait organisé gratuitement pour les clients de l’hôtel une croisière au couché du soleil. Cela rattrape la note globale.

We loved our 4 day stay in a junior suite, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The spa facilities were nice and we also enjoyed the beach club.

Breakfast was lovely and everything was fresh, with plenty of choice. Car park space was easy enough to find, just look for a white box space

As for the room, the bed was a little hard for my personal taste, but otherwise the room was big and nicely set up, with little balconies, tv, heated towel rail, air conditioning and a nespresso machine.

We did very much enjoy the free vintage bus tour...well worth a day out!

Hôtel plutôt bien placé dans Sliema. Le personnel est très agréable, le petit déjeuner est assez copieux avec un large choix de sucré comme de salé. Les massages au spa sont très relaxants, et l’ambiance de la pièce est apaisante. Cependant, l’entretien des chambres demeure assez approximatif (draps pas changés de la semaine, sol ni aspiré ni lavé de la semaine non plus). De plus, en une semaine nous avons tenté d’aller à la piscine extérieure 3 fois, et sur ces 3 fois nous nous sommes vus deux fois sans aucun transat disponible, aucune place pour s’installer. En effet, l’accès au Beach club est ouvert aux résidents de l’hôtel mais également aux personnes venues de l’extérieur, ce qui fait que la piscine est surpeuplée et donc, très peu agréable voire dans notre cas, inaccessible. Pour la piscine intérieure une réservation est nécessaire, mais tout comme pour l’extérieur, il y a tout de même beaucoup de monde. Avis plutôt mitigé au vu du prix de la semaine.

Abbiamo soggiornato in coppia una settimana intera, iniziando dalla camera pulita e fedele alle foto presenti on line nessuna sorpresa unica pecca il televisore presente in camera sfortunatamente non è smart e i pochi canali disponibili non forniscono questo grande intrattenimento; grande nota positiva tutte le prese di corrente presenti nella camera sono di tipo universale non è necessario nessun adattatore per dispositivi o altro. Parlando devi servizi la prima cosa che viene alla mente è la colazione, ovviamente internazionale molto completa anche disponibili ad opzioni senza glutine ; altri due servizi inclusi nel prezzo del soggiorno sono la spa presente al primo piano e la piscina situata sul lungo mare di Silema a pochi minuti di distanza dalla hotel; unica pecca legata ai servizi la scorsa loquacita delle addette alla pulizia delle camere, anche per un semplice asciugamano si fa prima a parlare con la reception.
Concludendo con la posizione l'hotel si trova a Silema zona stupenda e molta tranquilla , ben collegata con il trasposto pubblico a tutte le località si interesse presente sull isola

It’s a great place to stay specially compared to the other hotel available.
I recommend it for people looking for a quiet area, still walk distance from the restaurants and beaches. The open air swimming pool is located few meters away from the hotel. It’s an infrastructure located on the beach, front beach, with a nice bar and restaurant. Make sure you spend a day relaxing there. Prices are regular for a beach day club.
There is also an indoor pool inside the main building, located together with the spa, saunas and massage center. Great place to stay after a long touristic day. Make sure you make a reservation cause it take only 12 people per hour. This is something I was not very happy with cause it makes the experience very no spontaneous but understandable since it’s not a huge place.
Special thanks to the massage I got with lady Doki and also the male professional. Very good massages.

Leider ist der Strand sehr Felsig und das Meer eher unruhig auf dieser Seite der Insel!

Hem vingut 4 persones, l’habitació molt gran amb dos llits king size, el personal molt agradable i ben situat. Si vens amb cotxe, hi ha molta zona blanca al voltant per aparcar, no fa falta pagar parking. La piscina un 10.

Sabe aquele café da manha que te anima a acordar cedo, então, esse hotel tem. O café da manha, na minha opinião, é completo, com fartura e sempre com produtos fresquinhos. As camas são bem grandes, são oferecidos roupões e chinelos no quarto e na entrada da piscina do Hotel são entregues toalhas. No quarto tem também maquina Nespresso e agua como cortesia. A cordialidade de TODOS os funcionários e algo para ser lembrado. Sempre com sorriso no rosto, sem correria no atendimento e com muito respeito. Estivemos a passeio em família e tivemos uma excelente experiencia. Recomendo.

Sehr freundliches Personal und ein sehr sauberes Hotel mit tollem Konzept. Das Hotel liegt super zentral, wenige Gehminuten zu den Restaurants, Bussen und Ferry. Wir können es nur weiter empfehlen.

The staff at reception were the most friendly and helpful reception staff I can ever remember. Great credit to the hotel.
There's some confusion over complimentary water. Different messages between reception and maids. Needs sorted.

Rooms are not fit for purpose. Short on storage space, views are not great. Bathrooms are a decent size but still unable to store all towels in it..

If you mention to reception about storage space they can provide extra drawers.

It's location doesn't seem Ideal at first. Using Google maps to get to The Point shopping mall is useless as there are roadworks that block off the route.
However with a bit of exploring you will find that the shopping mall is only about 400 metres away, and there are MANY areas nearby to keep you interested so location is actually ideal.
I recommend the evening bus tour that takes in the city of Mdina, however they only run Wedesdays and Fridays, so be aware of that.
Breakfast in the hotel was pretty much as you would expect. There's not a lot of space between food counters and tables but staff make it work for customers.

The pool is around a 5 minute walk and there always seems to be enough beds.
Staff there are very helpful - special thanks to Willam who helped us keep in the shade. Views from the pool are spectacular. It's not always obvious which of the team are there to take food and drink orders A simple thing like carrying a tray would help.
The restaurant at the pool has a good choice for lunch. We went twice and were more than happy with our choice of meal.

Staff make this hotel, and Malta is a must see location. However there is a lot of building work going on and Malta will become more expensive and will fight toe to toe with the Marbellas of this world.
So go see it before it's out of reach and if you do you'll do well to choose the 1926

Magnifique hôtel où le personnel est très sympa et disponible, même au moindre soucis, ils font en sorte de satisfaire les clients.
Hôtel très chic et très confortable. Piscine privée intérieure et extérieure avec possibilité de réserver des soins d'ordre esthétiques (massages, nails...) Petit bémol, la piscine extérieur est à 2 rues de l'hôtel.

Chambre très grande et confortable avec une superbe douche italienne très spacieuse. Attention au niveau de la vue "côté mer", on ne l'a voit que très peu pour certaines chambres considérées comme "vue mer".

Nous avons pris le petit dej compris avec l'hebergement et ça en valait la peine. Beaucoup de choix sucré / salé , beaucoup de fruits et de boissons chaudes et froides dont smoothies maison..

Présence d'un bar et d'un restaurant où nous avons également consommés et rien à dire, tout était très bon.

Je recommande cet hôtel les yeux fermés et en plus très bien situé (2 rues de l'arrêt de bus qui amène à la capitale La Valletta".
