THE RITZ CARLTON

Our family has stayed at many Ritz Carltons all over the country and have also stayed in the Club Level quite frequently and the service has been excellent but not here.
Our short two day stay at the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach Property was less than par. When we arrived, we realized that there were six commercial generators right outside our balcony running 24/7 and we could not enjoy our balcony, because the noise was too loud. For the price that they are charging for these rooms, it is awful that this is the level of accommodations that they expect we should receive. We could also hear noise in our room. We did receive a points accommodation to take away the pain from not being able to use the balcony.
We thought we could enjoy the rest of our stay moving forward but ran into more customer disservice issues.
First, I went to the gift shop and tried to get down a small cutting board that was not situated correctly on its stand and it fell. The first thing the lady working there loudly said across the store was “Is it broken” a few times. She did not ask if I needed help, just directed her voice out loudly to me in front of everyone. I told her nothing was broken as it was a little cutting board and a spoon that fell from a disorganized high shelf. I had a few items to purchase and I put them back on the shelves and walked out upset as to the way I had been treated.
Next, I go to the bar at Gumbo Limbo to get a drink and their computer is down. The female bartender is making us wait in the hot sun while she is enjoying her own beverage in front of us and then tells me to go to the sandbar and get a drink. WOW! I waited there and her computer did come back up and I received my drink after the delay.
In the meantime, the high speed wifi was hardly working on our three devices which caused a problem for my husband as he works virtual running his own Law Firm. The pool was extremely warm and the shower by the beach did not work in the morning so we had to walk across the resort barefoot to the pool to clean our feet with the shower.
Lastly, we tried to checkout and call the bellman and they never showed up. After almost an hour we notified the hotel and a bellman did come. As we were leaving the manager was downstairs and I made him aware of most of the customer disservice issues. He did nothing and allowed us to leave dissatisfied. Is this how the Ritz Carlton brand should treat their guests?
That being said, our family has no desire to return to the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach property when we receive this type of service. We are locals who live in Fort Lauderdale and just wanted a relaxing two days to recharge our batteries. We would have liked to receive Ritz Carlton service which we did not!
We are actually at the hotel right now, came this time because tomorrow is my husband’s bday, upon our arrival a very nice young woman at the front desk gave us an upgrade because we’ve been guests in the hotel several times and because we booked with our platinum American Express card , she said we will have our room no matter what at 4:00 pm and that they were going to try for us to have it before. We got the room like at 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm, not happy about that.
Restaurants are all booked so there is no way you can eat at property even if you are staying at the hotel which is crazy from my point of view.
Last night the only place that had availability was Nolita so we ate there, the Caccio Pepe was the worst I’ve had ever and I order this everywhere because it’s my fav, my husband ordered pizza and he was stomach sick afterwards. Also they just told me at Moka (the coffee place) that they run out of oat milk and they won’t have more for tomorrow, so great!
We can tell they completely changed management and they are very short of staff.
Tonight and tomorrow we are eating off property which we didn’t want to but we have no option as you can see.
So this is our last time here ever for sure.
