HOTEL FARO ARENAL

The restaurant served breakfast; I liked that they had a few options but you weren't overloaded with choices. The food was good, and I enjoyed the covered patio. It didn't affect us, but the restaurant wasn't open for dinner time.
There were so many different birds there: pavas, hummingbirds, summer tanagers, and many I wasn't able to identify. There were also a couple of sloths, toucans, and some cool bees and moths! It looks like they take care to create habitat for the animals.
A downside to the area was the abundance of mosquitoes, which were so quiet you didn't notice them until you're covered in bites. I learned last week that Canadian Blood Services has declared this area of the country to have a malaria risk, so I am unable to donate blood until 3 months after my return date.
Finally, I was unhappy with the bed. Mine was very hard and the room smelled like it had been fumigated that very day. Perhaps it is because I have a stronger sense of smell than my family, but I was the only one to find it a problem. I appreciate that there was a queen, twin, and bunk bed option in the room. There were 4 of us and it gave the kids options.
