I enjoy coming to Montabello once a year it's beautiful and quiet has alot of activities and walking trails. We came three of us as a family to celebrate my partner's birthday. We stayed in the rooms they were a good size and our favorite was the food. We were very impressed this time around with the dinner meals they were superb. We ordered almost every desert on the menu except for one because they sounded so interesting. They all tasted phenomenal! The server was nice, until she was not. She did a great job explaining what some of the meals were and wine. The bill came around, of course you go to a nice place you are expected to pay more money, she saw the printed receipt that did not go through because I tapped instead of inserted. She said " did you not like the service?". I said yes it was great! She then goes "Because you did not tip me enough". When I tried to pay with my card again I gave a larger tip than before. I was shocked and humiliated because she said it so the table next to us heard it. It really did ruin the night for us and the next morning for brunch I was still thinking about it. The server in the morning was great! Tip is optional and nobody should be pressured.

We just went to have an early supper. I ordered a steak and fries. It wasn't busy at all. The waiter was so busy chatting with other people that when my food finally came, the fries and the steak were cold. I asked for the steak to be medium well done but it was red inside and I couldn't eat it

We spent a night in March at this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, and the lobby was impressive. Our room was small but comfortable. We enjoyed the pool area, however some of the other facilities need to be updated. The squash court, gym etc look dated and scruffy. The restaurant was disappointing. It also needs updating and the food was terrible. French onion soup, green salad, hamburger ... all were boring, tasteless and wildly expensive for what we received. A hotel with this history and with the Fairmont name should prioritize the quality of it's restaurant, especially when it's the only option for guests (unless they want to leave and head to the village - which we did for dinner). Surely a busy hotel with guests willing to pay for quality food, deserves a head chef to create something special.

Wonderful service and beautiful stays here. I have stayed many times and attended conferences here. The facilities and food are amazing. The service is also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond for me and my family, moved my luggage for me, and even had a youth-sized robe placed in the room for my 4-year old son - amazing! Many thanks to Lauranne, Caralie, and Nicola for the amazing services. Truly impressed!

A weekend getaway with some family, the lodge itself is quite stunning, a great place to sit by a fire and read or converse. The pool is Olympic sized, architecturally very elaborate, and definitely worth a look. Breakfast was fantastic, both off the menu and á la carté. Dinner, unfortunately, was a bit of a disappointment. Our party of 12 waited much too long for our orders (sat 3 hours without desserts), there were multiple mix-ups in the orders (spouse was given regular bread on her plate in spite of being celiac, people getting served the wrong orders), there were substantial periods between people in our party receiving their orders, the meat dishes were overdone (medium well deer instead of medium rare), and our server just seemed to be off of her game (and maybe she was for some reason of which we were unaware). The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full for dinner. The food presentation was beautiful, though, and ultimately I suspect there may have merely been a culmination of events that led to our experience (staff called in sick or similar?). Otherwise, the holtel was definitely worth the visit and felt very much like an upscale resort.

A superlative experience. My wife and I were there with our three foster kiddies, all under 5, and they had a lovely time. The staff were always professional and very approachable, the rooms were just the right balance of rustic yet incredible comfortable and welcoming. I cannot recommend it enough.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Service was amazing and the setting is beautiful. We find the rooms a bit small but this was our 4th time here and will continue to visit.

We had a nice time there.
The brunch was really good and the lobby was amazing.
The rooms where ok, for the price it was a little bit lackluster.
We had no dressing gown and they said they just werent any left.
The pool was really pretty.

Endroit magnifique.
