Lamb was dry and undercooked, kebabs were burnt a bit with too much salt in it.
Zaytoon used to be stellar - but now the donner is not fresh and way overpriced. When asked where the Donner was, they said it was already pre-cut. This is a bizarre and unnecessaryshortcut. €18 for a kebab meal is very expensive, especially when it is not with freshly cooked meat and the portion is a lot smaller than it used to be.
Zaytoon used to be a regular late night favourite, always packed with people and amazing quality kebabs - I hope they can get things back to the high standards from the past.
The staff were nice.
Very tasty, good portions, and to a large extent, quite healthy too.
The wings were delicious, absolute yum. Looking forward to trying more of their menu!
Last time I visit today 07/03/2024.
As usual I said hello , slam but few of staff two beers guys told me why you slam to us we are not Muslim . It is very strange a rude answer.never happend . The guy name is Adnan is stay bulling . Which very unfortunate and unacceptable.
I orders my food I always come with family . My wife was with me . We are really like the food but don’t like staff behavior.
Should to take some actions against .
Thanks
POSITIVES
- this is a well done Persian restaurant that’s open late; the warmth of the Kurdish/irish manager hits you right as you order! I came in 30 minutes before closing and they serviced me like I was at the beginning of the shift!
- I ordered the lamb doner - granted this was one of the few things they had left. I rarely get lamb but not much else was open so I bit the bullet. This was arguably some of the best lamb I’ve ever had - succulent, melt in your mouth lamb (I will be dreaming about this lamb now).
- Loved how many veggies they gave you on the doner - very fresh as well (and mind you I came in towards closing!)
- They were swift at preparing my order and everything was piping hot
- Even though I came close to closing time - they did not kick me out or rush me! I appreciated that :)
CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK
- It’s 17.90 euros for my entire meal - portion size was pretty decent and the food was excellent so I don’t mind paying; however if you’re on a budget may not be for you.
- It’s a bit chilly in the restaurant (it could have just been where I’m sitting lol).
CONCLUSION
I would totally come back in heartbeat! If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or something to have with family - come here! Bonus point is its excellent service AND it’s halal!
My choice is Classic Koobideh- with minced beef and lamb with herbs and salad, with bread option. It reminds me of Adana Turkish kebab, which I really love.
Their fries are very thin and crunchy.
The garlic sauce is very garlicky.
The medium size is a big portion,so be careful when ordering.
The only thing why I’m not giving 5 * is because the place is not really clean.
We had to clean with our wet wipes, the seats and the table that we sat at.
