The hotel shows itself as a 4 star, but I think 3 is more accurate. The lobby may look clean and upscale, but the rooms don't match.
The first thing I noticed when walking into the room was the temperature. The windows didn't seal completely, which caused a draft. And because the windows didn't seal completely, I could hear everything outside.
And speaking of hearing, the walls have no soundproofing. I had an adjoining door between my room and the room next to me, so I'm not sure if it was because of that or not, but I could hear everything next door.
The beds themselves were the major issue for me. I had a king size bed, but it should have just been 2 singles. The king sized bed was made by attaching 2 single beds, they were put beside eachover with a thin king size mattress topper. Wouldn't have been so bad except for the fact that I would fall in the seam of the 2 single beds. It was not a comfortable sleep.
Another strange point, the washroom exhaust had a mind of its own. It worked when it wanted to, regardless of time, and if any switch was flipped. It would randomly go on in the night, and continue running.
The location isn't the greatest, but it isn't horrible. You can walk to places, but it just takes time.
The only saving grace was probably the price. Stayed here for 2 nights, so regardless of the issues, we decided we could bear with it.
Unfortunately that doesn't make up for the overall quality.
Windows don't seal well and let in tons of cold air.
Windows offer no sound proofing to reduce outside noises in any meaningful way.
Rooms are not soundproofed. I could hear every. single. word. of a conversation being held in a room located across the hall and two doors away from mine despite all doors being closed.
Mattresses are poor quality. Pillows are lumpy and poor quality.
Bed and bath linens are great as exfoliants.
Surfaces appear clean but are so worn and dingy that you question the true cleanliness vs appearance thereof.
Lobby smells of cigarette smoke.
Hallways and rooms smell generally of must and intensely perfumed cleaning products.
I was booked in for three nights and, despite not being eligible for even a partial refund, opted to book into a different hotel after the first night.
